The 100th episode Paul Abbott directed last series was shockingly brilliant and shows the show can still be fantastic. I won't hold out much hope for this series but I'm still a big fan of the show and it's always entertaining so I'll be watching.

I thought the 2nd episode was quite good too. The show still has some legs yet.

I think they said it's back on next Tuesday so it must be on every Tuesday now.

I'll give it a watch I suppose, series 1-3 were vastly superior but I'll see if I can enjoy it.

I want Frank back as a main character, joke that he's been a parody himself and in the background for god-knows how long.

David Threlfall looks so different to Frank in real life and is obviously more different to his character, sounded more posh spoken.

I hope that the show can regain some of the spark that made it popular in the first place but they have suffered by the amount of big exits from some characters over the last couple of series and they need new people to come in and try to fill that gap.

Frank needs to be centre stage again and I am looking forward to watching the new series tonight!

Oh yes it is clever, and very subtle, but in the subtext there is a definate political agenda. The writer however is very clever to disguise it, fair play to them.

Anne-Marie Duff is to return to Channel 4 drama Shameless for the show's last episode, it has been announced.

The Bafta-nominated actress, who played Fiona Gallagher, originally left the programme eight years ago during the second series.

She is among a number of former Shameless stars including Jody Latham and Elliott Tittensor who will make a re-appearance for the finale.

The 11th series is due to be screened in the spring.

The show's creator, Paul Abbott, announced in October he was ending the long-running series.

A spokeswoman said the cast were currently filming the final episode, which is set on Manchester's fictional Chatsworth estate.

The plot will see the Gallagher children "summoned to show solidarity" for their dad, Frank.

"Shameless 11 will be as celebratory, defiant and as unapologetic as ever," the spokeswoman said.

After leaving Shameless, Duff - who is married to her former Shameless co-star James McAvoy - went on to star in dramas such as BBC One's The Virgin Queen and last year's BBC Two series Parade's End.

She was nominated for a best supporting actress Bafta for her role in 2009's Nowhere Boy and has also appeared on stage in Cause Celebre at the Old Vic in 2011.

Thought this last episode was alright actually. Not really digging the Dominic/Gloria thing and Jamie's story arc so far seems a bit all over the place but Mimi taking over the school was pretty awesome/funny.

Didn't like that ep. What happened to the gritty realism that made Shameless so great? We now have an odd mix of characters that I don't give a **** about. There's no real family unit anymore which was what the show was originally based around. I'm holding out hope for the last two eps because for a final series this is pretty shocking.

I agree and I thought despite the great success she has had since leaving the show it was a nice gesture to return for the last episode to the show that made her a star!

Great last episode and send off for the show, sometimes all good things must come to an end and it is the right time IMO but I still believe that the show never was able to recover from losing very popular characters/actors and they tried to replace them but it just didn't work in the end.

Yeah I was bored one day and there was nothing to watch on tv so was looking to see what drama's were on all4 and seen shameless so decided to watch a few episodes. yeah the theme is great SCATTER!!!
