REALITY SHOW: Bed and Bardsleys

Date: Thursday 8th September 2005
Time: 23:35 to 00:25
After appearing on Wife Swap Lizzy and Mark Bardsley were branded spongers and layabouts. Their income from state benefits for themselves and their eight kids was over £37,000. The tabloids labelled them "Britain's laziest couple." But they have always argued that they are grafters who have fallen on hard times. Bed and Bardsleys is Lizzy and Mark's opportunity to prove their critics wrong. They have been challenged to run a Blackpool bed and breakfast for two weeks unaided. Its up to them to get up early every day to make breakfast, clean the rooms, work the bar and keep their guests happy. For Lizzy it's no easy task holding her tongue when an endless succession of demanding guests troop in her door. The arrival of Big Brother couple Stuart and Michelle turns Lizzy and Mark's thoughts to romance. They realise that they will always have each other and they finish their Blackpool challenge with a lavish marriage blessing complete with meringue wedding dress, horse and carriage and lots and lots of screaming kids.

I see that Lizzie Bardsley has been quoted as saying Michelle was very possessive with Stu. This from a woman who lasted 3 days on Wife Swap cause she thought her husband would go off with the other wife and was consumed by jealousy :rolleyes:

Cheers Bubs, I will try not to let that stupid woman annoy me :laugh: it's just that this reads like Lizzie makes the comments on the program. It kind of just gives the Mich Haters more ammo really doesn't it. I really think the girl deserves some positive press now, it has been over a year since she left the BB house, jeez even Jade got given some slack after a while.

If I was in a new relationship and with someone as georgeous as Stu I'd be sticking to my man as well so I don't blame Mich we have to remember this was done last year.

Well unfortunately, they obviously don't think that they are meant to be, otherwise they would be together. But I don't mean any offence, I do like both Michelle and Stuart.
As for Lizzie Bardsley, she just makes me angry:mad:

Not watching this myself but have been told that at the end of last nights show you saw Michelle and Stu arriving. Michelle gave Mark (Lizzies hubby) and hug and he later says that he likeds Michelle, or words to the effect. Now that would be enough to p*** Lizzie off totally and probably explains her comments in Closer. :rolleyes:

i watched it last night on tape i though it was so cute :love:but kind of sad. i loved the matching tshirts it was corny but sweet:laugh:stu with the oj was very funny too

It is all a bit confusing to say the least isn't it :puzzled: Going by Michelle's interview it seems that Stu was not happy to be in a long term relationship that he could possibly be in for the rest of his life and he had to 'sort things out in his head'. They decided between them to try to spend time apart.
Not the cleanest break up in the world was it!!!

That's right. I thought they had already decided to split up, but they were going to have a last day together, and that was the day that Stuart met up with Victor, so he was late for Michelle. She thought that that was a bit mean of him, as it was the last day that they were to have together. I like them both, but I think Stuart might be a bit too immature to handle a serious relationship.

Smokie I am sorry that was not my intention at all to make you feel bad. When I first heard they were matching wearing matching t-shirts I thought to myself "oh God they are going down the Beckhams route" but when I actually saw it they did look sweet and happy and relaxed. Not tacky or OTT!
