EastEnders dropped to its lowest figures of the year last night, bringing to an end to its 10-week reign atop the Thursday ratings.

The Walford soap's third episode of the week, which saw Syed fall back into Christian's arms, averaged 5.88m (27.2%) in the half hour from 7.30pm. BBC Three's repeat added 1.42m (6.3%), matching its repeat figures from the 25th anniversary night on February 19.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale's hour-long episode, during which Charity and Cain attempted to scam newcomer Declan, pulled in 6.49m (31.5%) across 60 minutes. During the clash period from 7.30pm, its audience dipped slightly to 6.34m (29.3%).

Emmerdale last triumphed in a head-to-head on July 14, one week before ITV launched its refreshed drama schedule.

Coronation Street was the most-watched soap of the evening, logging 8.13m (36%) in the half hour leading to The First Election Debate. ITV2's 12.45am repeat added a further 105k (3%).

Doctors' screening, yesterday titled 'Synergy', had 1.62m (21.4%) in its usual timeslot of 1.45pm.

Five's Australian hour kicked off at 5.30pm with 1.32m (9.4%) tuning in for Neighbours, before 925k (5.5%) caught Home and Away half an hour later.

Fiver's first look at tonight's Home and Away took 522k (2.9%), while Neighbours' 7pm repeat added 169k (0.9%).

Hollyoaks' latest offering, which saw Josh hit the bottle again, drew 1.14m (6.3%). E4's first look had 322k (1.6%) half an hour later.

Not to worry, think it will pick up soon again:).
