wasn't sure whether or not to post this in the TV section, but that doesn't really matter since it covers both.

Yeah they usually have a second show of the full tapings. The cut down show is live so they only show so much.

Shaun
06-05-2010, 04:50 PM
Yeah there's a "Later...with Jools Holland" on Fridays, the one on Tuesday was Later Live, which doesn't have as much performances.

Shaun

Well I had no idea LCD Soundsystem looked like that. I thought they'd look like a trendy New York youngish electro group :p

Jools' show always has the capacity to produce moments of real magic, just like this. Great show

I never thought I would say this but I love a Scissor Sisters song

Fire with fire fire with fire fire dffoofidfdododfodfiod in my head all day long everyday for ages :(

Shaun
24-09-2010, 11:11 PM
Haha, it is catchy. I wish the chorus had some diversity though...and when he sings it live he has this horrible low tone. Which is weird, because when I saw them they sang pretty well :spin2:

King Gizzard
24-09-2010, 11:23 PM
I saw that best of programme they done on jools, and they shew At the Drive in's (who I love) performance, zane lowes favourite, oh.deary.me what a failure lol

08qk_pMJFak

They all look like they are trippy as hell

Shaun
24-09-2010, 11:25 PM
that John Grant song was rather lovely, but the piano reminded me of something else.

King Gizzard
24-09-2010, 11:25 PM
I don't get why Brandon is on his own, all of this stuff sounds like it could be done by the whole band, have they fallen out?

Shaun
24-09-2010, 11:33 PM
apparently they wanted to rest [since they've literally been ALBUM-TOUR-ALBUM-TOUR-ALBUM-TOUR since 2003] and he had loads of stuff he wanted to do, which came to be a solo album. They're likely to have the next album out by 2012 I think, but they have a 'covers' album coming next year I think too :p

King Gizzard
24-09-2010, 11:34 PM
I'm loving this cover

Shaun
24-09-2010, 11:48 PM

Debbie Harry never died but Chris Stein nearly did .....

I also think The Hives are really good too, was glad to see them on the show.I have cds of them.

Also as to the Gnarls Barkley song Crazy,I liked this song but on the original version had not taken in much of the lyrics until it was performed by Petula last night.
Her interpetration prompted the emphasis on the lyrics and I loved the way it was done.

The Dubliners were great too,in fact I couldn't really fault anyone on the show,it is the kind of show I would have liked to be present at.
