There's been way too much going on in the series, feels like it went on forever. Hopefully next series they stick to one main plot. Hopefully with the other side gone it'll make deaths more meaningful again.

I'm watching at ITV2 pace and I must say that this series has been terrible. Too many half formed plots and they've done the impossible by making Marcos a more bland and boring villain than Silas. I'm hoping the next series will be better though since it's looking like Magic and the Other Side are on their way out which means Death might be meaningful and Magic won't be a Deus Ex Machina for every problem the characters face.

The only thing I've enjoyed about this Season is Enzo and he'll probably end up dying permanently by the next episode anyway.

I haven't seen it yet, I'll probably start watching it soon. The Originals were the best thing about TVD so it doesn't surprise me that their spinoff surpasses the main show.

Nope I watch Vampire Diaries with a friend so we decided to wait for dvd of Originals to come out and just watch all the episodes in one go.

just finished watching the originals /now thats more like it great show.. vampires how they are meant to be, though have you noticed there's no ugly people in it i did see one but he got killed quick lol it resembles real life.
if only damon was in it then it would be perfect. it does need some more humour. clouse is so good but soooo serious

yes The Originals was a lot better but we gotta remember its only the first season and TVD was a lot better in the earlier seasons so it could get worse as well.

I thought the finale was okay, it kind of went out with a whimper instead of a bang.

Elena's breakdown was tragic mess, she didn't even pay any note that Bonnie also died. Damon staying dead would benefit the show at this point.

Bonnie's grandmother will end up sacrificing herself to save them both, they kind of hinted at it in the last episode.

They need a more focused story next season as this series was all over the place.

I'm up to episode 8 of this season of vampire diaries. its very complicated with all these doubles. but its good .damon is just so sarcastic he makes the show. the girls seem older than last year yet the guys look the same and they are in their 30's playing teens lol. weird
love the originals its so much darker and different but they could use someone like damon in it to give it some suttle humour.

just finished season 5. . it was good. very complicated and confusing at times many times i had to check i was on the right episode as it was sooo confusing. but good liked the final a lot.

but why is damon dead. though it would be a good time to get him in the originals how good would that show be with him in it. haha, would be a shame if he is reduced to ghost mode with a pottery wheel

Rewatching this now, on s2. I have rediscovered my obsession with Ian Somerhalder..I genuinely had forgotten how beautiful he is. Still find Elena to be a whiney little bitch who should have been killed off sooner, she genuinely ruins the first few series. Dislike when Stefan is 'nice' and much prefer him on human blood. And Katherine is fantastic! Seems I prefer when its all about..bad people. Oops :hehe:

Its quite late on in the show when Klaus arrives isn't it? Love his character so much in this and still seriously disappointed the Originals ended so soon. Mind, after the first series of it is was kind of ****e, especially since they made Klaud 'good' because he had a kid :bored:

The books bear near no resemblence to the program. She was turned into a vampire early, then died, then came back with 'wings' powers..it was all quite pathetic tbh :laugh: Though am rereading those too, the ones I can find anyway, did have the whole set but now am missing 3 of stephans diaries (loved those ones) and only have 1 of each VD series too :(

I remember the days when people were obsessed with vampires. The Vampire Diaries, Twilight, True blood were widely popular from 2008-2012.

Nah. Hated that, both brought out even more moanyness and depression in each other tbh. Caroline and Stefan was a ridiculous couple that everyone seems to like, where obviously Klaud is the one for her!

I was a bit concerned at one stage that they were going to put Bonnie and Damon together (like in the books) :umm2:

OK, finished this and had forgotten how utterly crap it got in the later series'..how much I ended up disliking Damons character when I liked him most of the way through...when he was just..'good' he was quite crap :laugh:

Now rewatching the originals, which IMO is miles better than TVD..more 'adult' and less romance storylines generally which I find boring.

Considering watching that 'Legends' when I finish this, but from what I have read that seems to be tween rubbish..like, not even slightly appealing for anyone over 15! :laugh: Hope was a ****ing annoying character too, as is Caroline. Alarics OK ish, and the guy Hope was with when she came as a teen into the Originals was ****ing dire too and apparently it focusses on him a lot too :S
