i know ... sree was the "skudzoid" that needed to go!

another female victim... but then the demographics make the show, so don't be too sensitive to it. women always stab each other first!

For god sake, what's wrong with people? Vote a man out first ffs. It's never happened. Make it happen.

But what if all the men are more entertaining than the woman?

I'd love to see the voting break down

BB is an experiment and I reckon this is an interesting result from the experiment, clearly points out, it is easier to like men than women and that it takes longer to like a woman.

Jarvio
08-08-2009, 01:20 PM
Will a man ever be voted out first on BB? Never happened and I find it shocking. It sometimes makes me wonder, are all men automatically safe from the first eviction or something?? Or just very lucky?? It scares me / freaks me out that after 10 BB series, a woman got evicted first every time. I wonder how a man would take it if he got evicted first...

Brad.
08-08-2009, 01:22 PM
Not in BBUK, no. women bitch earlier on, so they are more hated and are got rid of first and i dont see that changing anytime soon

Luanda
08-08-2009, 01:25 PM
In new situations women tend to bitch more in order to attain their place in the pecking order. Men jostle for position.

Nobody likes a bitchy female, least of all fellow females.

Jarvio
08-08-2009, 01:28 PM
Good points so far.

However, sometimes it doesn't add up because Benezair wasn't bitchy, Bonnie wasn't bitchy, etc. Craig BB6 on the other hand was very bitchy but survived public vote, same for Mario BB9.

If we include CBB however, Chris Eubank and Goldie went first in their respective CBB Series.

Hmm let's see.

Sada
Penny
Lynn
Anoushka
Vanessa
Mary
Bonnie
Shabnam
Stephanie
Beinazir.

All of those people aside from Beinazir (because she wasnt evicted, rather not saved) you could say why they were evicted.

Tom4784
08-08-2009, 01:38 PM
Well if it's going to happen it'll have to happen next year sicne there's not gonna be another BB after that.

Jarvio
27-08-2009, 07:54 PM
...then let's make sure a MAN gets EVICTED FIRST! It will be our final chance! We cannot have 11 series where a woman has gone first every time. We need at least 1 man to be out first (whoever it is, they would be a poor son of a gun lol) but yeah I wanna see a man out first. Never happened. I wanna see it happen and wanna see people's reactions, including the evicted man

Brad.

Kenneth was gonna get evicted after only 1 week. But he came in later. Imagine if he was there from the start, acting the way he did. If he did then he'd sure be out first.

A woman being out first every time IMO has been an unlucky conicidence. It's GOTTA be possible for a man to go first. Gotta be!

Besides, it's happened on CBB - Chris Eubank and Goldie.

just seems that men always stay longer than women, the finals have most often had more males than females, this year there will only be two in the final, unless lisa goes tuesday, then it will be just sophie.don't know why this is so, but its always gone that way!

I'm sick of Chris Eubank and Goldie being the only male 1st evictees in uk bb history! And teenBB doesn't count!

But my tip for first evictee is either Nicola T or Heidi.

Jarvio

10 years, 10 series. Never once has there been a man out first. First evictee for all BB's has been a female. Celeb BB and Teen BB don't count. A man being evicted first has NEVER happened!

Let's bloody make it happen!
There is no reason it shouldn't happen. It's perfectly possible seeing as plenty of men have been evicted second!

I find it insane that after 10 years, still there has never been a man get evicted first.

We NEED to make this happen this year, as it's our final chance!

I don't care if there's an unbearable female HM in the first week... boot her out second! A MAN needs to go first for bloody once!

The closest we ever got on REAL BB has been:
1 - Kenneth BB10 - Ok he walked, but he would have been evicted on HIS first week if he had stayed there longer...
2 - David BB8 - Evicted on HIS first week, although his name was called out AFTER Shanessa, so really it was more like being evicted second.
3 - Jonathan BB7 - Evicted on HIS first week. No public vote however.
4 - Shabaz BB7 - Technically out first, but he walked.

The closest we ever got on CBB, and TeenBB has been:
1 - Chris Eubank CBB1 - Only one of three male first evictees ever.
2 - Goldie CBB2 - See above.
3 - Hasan TeenBB- See above. No public vote on this one however.
4 - Donny Tourette - Technically out first, but he walked.

C'mon, we NEED to get a man out first this year and make history!

I know there will be people on this forum saying "why do you even care?" Well to me, it's important. It is simply not right that a female has been evicted first every year. A man going first needs to happen at least once!

So please understand my point, and take action this year, by trying to get a man out first!

If only the BB8 twist on it's first week was all men rather than all women.... then a man would have deffo gone first! Why the hell didn't they do that?!

Let's make this happen. I wanna see a man out first, and wanna see how people will react to it, including the man. People on this forum might say that nobody will react any different. I disagree with whoever may say that, people will clock onto it and be shocked/feel extra sorry for the man!

LET'S GET A MAN OUT FIRST THIS YEAR! THIS IS OUR FINAL CHANCE!

I really, truly don't understand why this is such a huge deal to you. I mean, come on. The public votes out the people they don't want in the house - in the first week, that has just happened to be a female most of the time. There's no hidden sexism behind it, there's no conspiracy theory, that's just how it is. And even if there were, I don't see how conspiring to vote a male out first would change anything.

What do you mean by "it's simply not right that a female has been evicted first every year"? What defines "right"? And who are you to say what's right and wrong?

They didn't do an all-male twist in BB8 as it would have been boring as hell - granted the all-female twist failed as well but honestly you need a mix of both genders in a house to make it dynamic and interesting. The all-one-gender idea was crap from the start.

I also don't get why you think people will react so wildly if a man gets the boot first. You're the first person I've ever seen who's made such a huge deal about women always getting evicted first. It's been discussed, but no one's been as hysterical as you about it. Tbh, I think people will react to the first evictee the same as if it's a man or a woman: "Wow, it sucks to be first evicted." I don't get what extraordinary reaction you're expecting...

Just curious...

Its got **** all to do with gender mate, if theres an annoying women up for eviction first then ****.

And its always been ugly, horrible, irratating women that have left first and rightly so, the only time it wasn't right that a women went first was Stephanie because she wasn't Ugly, Horrible or Irratating and Mario should of been the first man out first.

I mean look at people like Benizare, Shabnam, Bonnie etc
All disgraces that no one wanted.

Well let me ask you all a question,

If a launch night twist determins the first public vote, as to who goes up, and one hilarious and entertaining MALE is up for eviction and a Horrible, Bitchy, FEMALE is up for eviction..
Who would you evict?

Seriously, its sort of unfair to get rid of a good housemate just because of their gender.

I dont think the general public even know or care that theres always a female out first those chavs probably havent noticed it.

It's a huge deal to me because I am just bored to death of a female going first every year. I'm not one of those feminists, nor am I even female! I just want to see a man go first for once.

I am not to say what's wrong or right, are any of us? No need to be a smart alec, smartalec2718 ;) It's just my opinion. Maybe it is just a coincidence that a woman has gone first. But by now I think people should have picked up on this, and voted a man out on the first week for once. Yes, I understand that an entertaining male could be up against a horrible female. I understand that, however, there have been cases when ok women have been evicted over horrible men. Prime example being stephanie being evicted over mario.

And yes, I agree that the all female idea was terrible in BB8, and an all male would have been just as bad. I was only saying that, if it had to be one or the other, then why not have it an all male just so a man can go first for once.

Ok, maybe people wouldn't react wildly if a man went first. I do however think they would react to some extent though, and we would see slightly different reactions to the traditional female out first.

There should be no interfering with evictions. If women generally get kicked out first then it's for a reason.

And it's mostly women who vote so....

Exactly.

They get evicted out first because women are extremely catty and jealous. If there was a man and a woman up for eviction - exactly the same personality, and equally as attractive - the woman would be out. No doubt about it. Because most viewers are female, that's not going to change.

The thing I don't understand though, is that there have been plenty of times that men have been evicted over women. However, it's never happened on the first eviction. Just wish it would!

Promising females always get evicted first. Steph, Sophia, Bonnie, Shabnam, Mary, etc. were all housemates that had potential but were never given a chance. The male housemates usually end up being less entertaining than the female housemates (IMO). It's time to get a male out first, I agree.

Since the invent of evictions in the first week, I think to be a first-evictee a HM must either have a boring character with little substance or a bad or cringe-worthy VT which they fail to live up to.
Taking this into account, it is not surprising that the first evictees are female. It is a lot easier for females to get into the house based on their looks alone. Men (generally) must have some kind of quirk in order to get past the audition process.
If you look at some of the recent first evictions:
Stephanie (BB9) - Wannabe, serial RTV contestant with nothing else going for her.
Shabnam (BB8) - More of the same. Talentless, wannabe famous for the sake of it.
Bonnie (BB7) - I thought she could have been a good HM. However, didn't really come out of her shell (suitcase twist could have been a big factor here) and didn't live up to her VT.
Mary (BB6) - I actually liked Mary, but she did come across as boring compared to her VT
Vanessa (BB5) - We had to wait right up until about week 5 to get a proper eviction, but the theory still holds true.
Anouska (BB4) - Victim of silly nomination twist so bit of an exception
Lynne (BB3) - I think the HMs themselves voted for her to leave.

Most of the above are either forgettable characters, or fame-hungry nobodies. I'm not saying that there haven't been any male HMs that fall into the same category, but most have some kind of character trait which is interesting enough for some of the public to want to keep them in.

Wow, really? Imagine if Jade had gone first...might have saved the show.

I've often thought that. Same with Craig V Mary in the first week of BB6 - That turned out to be the only chance we had to vote out Craig. Imagine how much better BB6 would have been without him.
Also if Glynn had gone instead of Bonnie (we'd have missed his "journey")
All strange twists of fate which have in hindsight shaped Big Brother history, and possibly a good argument for bringing back no evictions until the 2nd week - letting us get to know them a bit better.

Noticed a lot of people on here, including myself, posted saying that they're baffled that a man has never gone first in (regular) uk BB (excluding CBB, TeenBB etc).

Just looked at the eviction orders on wikipedia for all 10 series of BB, and...

Not only have no men ever gone first, but only a small amount of men have even gone second. These are:
Andrew BB1
Stuart BB2
Sezer BB7
Seany BB8

I thought Seany was popular haha

Marco?

He was the 3rd. Kitten was the first, then Vanessa, then Marco.

I know that Kitten was technically 'ejected', but when Davina made the announcement, she said the first person to be evicted is kitten (and said the 2nd for Vanessa, 3rd for Marco etc)

Well I see what you mean, but this is 2nd evictions we're talking about, not first evictions. If 4/10 men went first then it wouldn't be a sweaping statement, but even only 4/men have gone second. Therefore, although nothing major, I still think it's a minor observation that's worth discussing

It is rather bizarre that all the main BB series had a woman out first. Well, in BB7 Shahbaz left the house first didn't he, althought it wasn't an eviction. BB6 was so random, cos it was all up to Makosi who was put up. If she had stayed with her original nominations, and put up Roberto and Anthony (the two she voted for initially) then a man would've been out first! D'oh.

Doesn't anyone else find that messed up? That in UK BB (Celeb version not included), 11 series and a woman was the first evictee EVERY time? My god, not even one man went first!

I find this very strange. I mean ok, many women are hated by much of the female voting public - I get that. But howcome there hasn't been men only facing eviction in week one? This I can't get, and I thought it would have at least happened once out of all 11 series.

In US BB, out first is almost 50-50 split with each gender. So it only seems to be the UK that has this problem.... (is there even a public vote in the US version though)?

Also, a question....
If a man was to ever go first in UK BB, how do you think they would take it? I personally would be DEVASTATED if I was the first man to go first in UK BB history. If a woman goes first, then at least she would have plenty of other women to relate to. But if a man went first, he would have NOBODY in the history of UK BB to relate to.... surely that would be terrible for the man?

Jordan.

The tradition of it always been a woman out first probably helped towards the last few years.

The tradition of it always been a woman out first probably helped towards the last few years.

I find it odd how it had to be a 'tradition' though. It never had to be a tradition. I mean, many women outperformed many men in BB. Example, Kris being evicted over 3 women in BB10. But why didn't things like this happen on the very first week ever?

Jarvio
17-02-2011, 04:17 PM
So a question to men only: If you went on UK BB and ended up being voted out first, thus becoming the first ever male out first in uk BB history, how would you feel?

Jarvio
17-02-2011, 05:34 PM
I have just done some digging...... and it turns out that, in the regular versions of BB UK and BB Australia (Celeb versions not included, and also US not included as there was no public vote), only 1 man ever has been evicted first DUE TO A PUBLIC VOTE.

That is 19 series of BB. (11 in UK, 8 in oz). Only 1 man ever out first! (from a public vote). ALL the rest were women! That is crazy.

For those interested, here is a link to that only-ever male first-evictee (from all regular versions of BB UK and Oz) http://worldofbigbrother.com/BB/Aus/2/Damian.shtml

As I said, the only reason I looked at info on BB Australia was because there was actually a public vote. That's why I left BB US out of this...

I think it was funny when Sezer in BB7 assumed he would be safe because he assumed the BB voting public was sexist and would vote out a woman. Classic BB moment.

Jarvio
10-03-2011, 09:18 PM
Even though, on UK BB (celeb and teen version not included), there was never a man out first, some of the male contestants were 'kind of' out first. I have identified 6 of these men:

1 - Kenneth (BB10) - He only spent a week in there. And if he hadn't have walked, he WOULD have been evicted. This would have meant that he would have been out first since his entrance. And also, evicted after 1 week (the equivalent of out first).

2 - Jonathan (BB7) - He only spent a few days in there. He was out first since his entrance. And he was the first evicted from the 'house next door'. The only thing that doesn't make this fully count though, is that there was no public vote.

3 - David (BB8) - He only spent a week in there until he was evicted, which is the equivalent of out first. However, Shanessa (who is a female - apparantly!) recieved more votes than David. So I guess David was more like an 'out second' contestant, but still, only 1 week spent in there.

4 - Seany (BB8) - Perhaps the closest we've ever had to a man being out first IMO. Seany may have been out second, but he was IMMUNE for the first eviction. As soon as he wasn't immune anymore, he was gone!

5 - Billi (BB8) - Similar situation to Seany. As soon as he entered, he was immune for the next eviction. But as soon as he wasn't immune, he was out straight away. Billi is also the only man in BB history to be evicted before any woman since his own entry (by public vote).

6 - Sezer (BB7) - I had to include him. He was out second sure, but it was the first eviction that resulted from the traditional nomination stuff. Also, he received 91.6% of the vote lol, so has to get a mention.

Honourable mentions to Andy (BB1), Stuart (BB2), and Govan (BB11), who were all out second, and of course Shabaz (BB7), and Donny Tourette (CBB5), who 'left' first.

Apart from this, the only men that have ever gone first in UK BB history are Chris Eubank (CBB1), Goldie (CBB2), Hasan (TeenBB), and John Mcririck (UBB).

So.... which one of these men would you most hate to be? :joker:

Apart from Aaron and Harry I don't really care for any of the men, but of the 7 hopefully Anton or Aden will go.

Many of you know what I'm talking about ;)

So will Harry be the first male ever out first? Aaron isn't going anywhere obviously... It's blatantly gonna be between Harry and Tashie.

VOTE FOR TASHIE TO STAY!! We need to break the week 1 curse!!!

Call 090 16 16 17 13

Call it many, many times! (Or use FB creds!)

Let's make history people!

Is there any particular reason you want a male out first so much or is it just to 'make history'?

Jarvio stop bullying poor Harry

The only good thing about Harry potentially being evicted first is that you would stop making threads about a man leaving first.

Harry isn't interesting enough to make history like that.

First male evictee should be a god like Shahbaz.

Just fancy a change! I wouldn't be bothered if it was 5 or 6 series, but c'mon it's been 12, we need at least 1 man out first!

I so hope Harry goes, I've only heard him speak like three times, he's just deadwood. Nice guy and everything but Big Brother's not the show for him.

There were about 5 paragraphs there talking about his paranoia of being on Big Brother and being the first ever male evicted

How boring. Same old crap 13th year in a row. Do people not want change or something?

What's the point in having a TV show if the exact same thing happens on the first eviction 13 years in a row? Is there actually a chance that Conor will go? Probably not. Why couldn't that stupid cow just nominate 3 men? Give us something different for a change!

ugh can we just evict them all?
This is pathetic.
But that being said, i do think conor should go.

Maybe we should just actually judge on their character and not statistics?

So far most people on forums seem to agree that Conor should go. Whoever is the chosen one by the forums to go will be evicted I think...I mean who other than fans would care much to vote after only 4 days?

I actually kinda don't want the tradition to change...

Tradition is tradition after all. It'd be weird.

I wouldn't cite memory as a hint of sadness... it's far lower on the scale than repetition at least.
