Explosive Corrie siege scenes have blown a massive hole in the budget of the long-running soap, says a report.
Sources have revealed that Weatherfield bosses have spent £1million on the spectacular scenes.
Corrie fans will see Tony Gordon escape from prison and take his revenge in the most expensive scenes ever shot for the soap, says the News of the World.
The Underworld lingerie factory will erupt in a massive fireball in a sequence which cost show bosses £280,000.
An insider told the newspaper that TV execs spent £150,000 repairing the set, £120,000 on special effects, £190,00 on salaries for the extra episodes and £85,000 on stunt co-ordinators and safety experts.
It is believed that the total cost for the six special episodes cost £1,010,000.
An insider said: "We wanted Tony to leave with a bang. We'll wipe the floor with the BBC."
