When forums have big avators, it makes the board uneven and a tad messy, so I think thats the reason.
Board Rules: An uploadable avatar's width can be no greater than 150 pixels, a height no greater than 160 pixels and a file size no more than 120000 bytes.
You can use a bigger picture for your avatar, but when you upload it to the site, it will be resized automatically.
Or ..... point me in the direction of the pic you'd like to use and I'll try to resize it for you. :spin:

Yep! The banners that I make are 500x100!

As Kaz said the picture will be resized when you upload it.
The easy way to use a large picture as an avatar is to save it to your computer first - right-click on it and go to 'Save Picture As'.
Then select it next to 'Upload avatar from your computer' in Edit Profile.
o right cool, yer i was wondering if saving it to your computer first might help this problem, woops i didnt realise how big 600x500 was sorry :conf: , ok ill try doing that
I have a picture but the file size is too big. Just wondering if that could be changed?
