I enjoyed tonight's episode. A bit stereotypical. It was reminding me of school. People thought the "chavs" were the horrible ones. But I remember a few "metal heads" who were a bit arrogant and if you tried to talk to them some would not talk back! It wasn't shyness because 1 or 2 of them used to look at you like a piece of sh!t.

Anyway can't wait for next week's episode. Milly Moos!

Probably one of my least fave episodes ever. It's not due to the Metal and stuff because that was alright even though stupidly stereotypical but meh.
I thought it was weak because we had the same story last year with JJ (who did a much better job). Enough of the freak that can't get laid, seriously, it's getting old. First Sid, then JJ and now....this??? He's a terrible actor too. This episode was empty.

It was... okay. I'm having trouble warming to the new cast when I pretty much liked the last two generations from the start. I like Grace, Franky and Matty but the others don't feel like Skins characters at the moment. The episode was badly written for the most part though and until the last 20 minutes or so Rich was too much of a stereotype to be likable.

Although I thought it was good how Grace and Rich started it off!! But it usually gets better as the series goes on, becoming more exciting. So can't wait for that!

Yeah I rewatched it then realized it has the "coming up" thing written + it didn't make any sense if it was all in the same episode. As Grace is the penultimate episode, I guess something big is up with her. Alo's episode seems to the the funniest one. Nick's episode seems to be the most revealing one and emotionally strong. We'll see but the second half looks better than the first.

Yesterday I wasn't feeling well so I just decided to spend the day in bed and watch all of Season 1 (today I started Season 2 as well). I like it alot, but I might actually say I prefer Season 5. In Gen. 1, I love Cassie, Chris, and Michelle. Sid I like but I don't think he's THAT great. Jal is nice but not very interesting, neither is Anwar. Tony...he's okay. Maxxie is just there for me, but he's nice. But overall I find the characters in S5 more interesting and intriguing. I also think the storylines and how they are portrayed are more well done and unique while Season 1 has alot of cliches (girl loves boy, boy doesn't love girl. boy realizes he loves girl, but its too late and girl leaves town,etc). Maybe it's because I've also already been watching Skins US which practically has the same storyline (somewhat).

But in some aspects the US version is better. I agree with you that Tea is far more interesting than Maxxie. I also like Stan better than Sid. And I think US Michelle does a good job of UK Michelle so far. But yeah, other than than UK > US.

Skins USA: Similar to Michelle's UK episode but different in execution. The weakness of Tony's actor really hurts the series and Chris is completely charmless but I do like Abbud, Tea, Daisy and Michelle a lot. I think I'm enjoying the series more then the current UK one.

Skins: Alo's episode was only alright for me, I just don't care for the character that much but admittedly the episode was better then I was expecting. Next week's looks better.

Sucha disappointing series :/

Crap finale tbh.

Was hoping for a Franky/Mini/Matty/Liv cliffhanger.

I thought it was one of the better final episodes. Better then both of the last gen's finales. I liked the fact that they didn't resort to the typical cliffhanger, it was something different. I did think it was a bit predictable that they didn't get married though, it would have been uncharted territory for Skins if they did. The cast has grown on me in the past two episodes with Mini surprisingly becoming my favourite, I still think that Alo and Nick are painfully pointless.

In terms of each series as a whole i'd say it goes:

S2>S1>S3>S5>S4 (I enjoyed it the second time round but it's incredibly uneven)

Episodes (Best to worst):

Grace>Everyone>Mini>Liv>Nick>Franky>Rich>Alo

The finale was better than season 4's one (even thought it's my favourite series). I think it was well-written and played even though there are so many things left unfinished like Mini's sudden crush on Franky. So yes, it was good but I've got this unfinished business feeling, probably because there are 8 episodes (what a shame, how could they do that to us??) but still.
Franky and Liv are definitely my favourites: Franky is an Effy on her own even though Effy is Effy and no one can reach her level of head****ness. As for Liv, I thought she was going to be a ghetto black bitch but she is a good contender and is real. I'm feeling her good.
Mini surprised me a lot too, I'm glad they didn't make her a Katie Fitch 2.0 even though her episode was quite stereotypical, she evolved afterwards.
Grace, Rich, Alo and Matty are nice, not bad, not amazing either.
As for Nick, can someone tell me the purpose of him being on the show? Has Freddie from Gen 2 reincarnated in Nick's body or something? Because Freddie was damn useless and empty as a character too. I hope he doesn't have an episode on series 6.
What I liked about this series compared to the others is that, all the stereotypes and first ideas about the Gen 1 and 2 casts proved to be right (We all knew Cassie would be crazy, Sid a loser, Tony a moron, Emily a shy lesbian, JJ an outcast etc...) but they really made a good job about series 5 because what I expected from all the characters was far from being right so I'm very surprised at this.

I can't rank the episode nor the series at the moment because I'll have to watch it another time but I think it's going to be something like:
series 4>series 2>series 1> series 5> series 3.

I don't want to wait another year, this series went too fast, I didn't enjoy the Skins season as much as I used to. :(

I'm wondering who will die on series 6 because it seems to be a pattern on 2nd series of each Gen (Chris and Freddie). I actually think it will be Franky as her she finds her biological parents and it all goes wrong and ends up killed. If she has to die, then she's either murdered or kills herself (Effy tried but it didn't happen) because we had the disease (Chris) and the murder (Freddie).

I'm already speculating on what may be happening in series 6. :hugesmile:

'Skins' writer Jamie Brittain confirms exit

Jamie Brittain has confirmed that he has decided to stop working on the television show Skins.

Brittain, who created the drama with his father Bryan Elsley, announced on Friday that he believes it is time for him to move on.

Speaking to the website AfterEllen, he explained that he is "really sad" to be leaving but added that he has faith in the production team.

"I've just said everything I want to say," he said. "It's time for new writers to come forward and portray their truth about teenagers."

Brittain, who explained that he now wants to write a film, also revealed that he believes the sixth series of Skins will be "amazing".

Brittain later confirmed the news of his exit on his Twitter page, saying: "Thanks for all the lovely messages. It's not an April Fools, I am leaving Skins. Sad to go, but don't worry, it's in very good hands."

The sixth series of Skins, which will comprise ten episodes, is expected to air next year.

Time for it to be axed.
