Johnathan Stape has been confirmed to kill again, or cause another death, with the pressure piling on, what will Stape do when he ends up with another death on his hands?

OMG, this is the most unlucky man in the world! Who will it be? Probably that woman (can't remember her name) the one that helped him cover up Colins death
Scarlett.
06-09-2010, 11:47 AM
I think it will be Charlotte too, and this time I don't think it will be accidental either!
Perhaps he does a hit and run! Leaving her for dead on the street
Niamh.
06-09-2010, 11:48 AM
OMG, he's nuts though, poor old Fizz
Scarlett.
06-09-2010, 11:49 AM
lol indeed....but it's her fault really...who gets back together with a kidnapping borderline peadophile? xD
Niamh.
06-09-2010, 11:51 AM
very true! still though i love Fizz
Scarlett.
06-09-2010, 11:53 AM
Aye, I can't wait until it all comes out!
Scarlett.

Actually, looking at the quote from ITV
"How long can John maintain the lies that have become his every day life? When one death leads to another how long will John evade the force of the law and avoid telling his pregnant wife Fiz the absolute truth?"
Maybe there is two deaths D:

What I like about soaps, is that there are a hundred times more deaths in a small village in 1 year than in a big city in 10 years. Loving it.
Scarlett.
06-09-2010, 12:23 PM
There's only been 120 deaths on the show in 50 years...that's quite an achivement for a soap LOL
Niamh.
06-09-2010, 12:26 PM
yeah try moving to Summer Bay!
Scarlett.
06-09-2010, 12:31 PM
Or EastEnders! Corrie has only ever had 16 murders too xD
Niamh.
06-09-2010, 12:33 PM
Yeah that's why corrie edges it for me over Eastenders, I love the humour.
Scarlett.
06-09-2010, 12:36 PM
Yeah, the humor in Corrie works well with the drama, it shows even in devastating events, not everything is totally grim
I like how murders in Corrie are huge events too, in shows like EastEnders they have like two murders a year, since Richard Hillman we had
Katy Harris accidentally killing her dad [2005]
Tracy Barlow killing Charlie Stubbs [2007]
Jimmy Dockerson running over Liam Connor [2009]
Tony Gordon shooting Robbie Sloane [2010]

Sounds a bit too much like Lucas in Eastenders to me.

Uhhh...what? How?
Lucas was a religous deluded nut, John Stape is just a weirdo
And if your on about the first death being caused accidentally, then Lucas is nothing but a copy of Richard Hillman, who watched Duggie his mate die, then refused to report it to the police

It sounds exactly like Lucas no matter how you cut it, given that the Lucas storyline went on for a year it's a bit obvious that this story has taken inspiration from it. Especially if he ends up killing Charlotte or someone else. The lucas storyline probably did take a little inspiration from Corrie's storyline but in fairness it didn't do the storyline near enough straight after Corrie did it.
Corrie's been copying other soaps a lot recently, Michelle's baby swap storyline springs to mind.
Scarlett.
06-09-2010, 02:10 PM
The baby swap was two fricking years ago
Oh, and by the way, Corrie did a three year long serial killer storyline with Tony recently... then one in EE springs up out of nowhere? Corrie isn't the only soap that copies others
We don't even know if John kills Charlotte yet, and lets not forget, John in no way killed or accidentally killed Colin Fishwick, Colin died from internal bleeding from the guy who beat him up (who did so because Colin had been carrying on with his wife as the man was in prison)
When John starts quoting the bible whilst strangling prozzies, then we can start talking about copying

I'd hardly call Katy whacking her dad round the head with a wrench an accident :laugh2:

I would, she did it as as spur of the moment reaction, she didn't actually want him to die :joker:

I bet it is Charlotte! :o
Scarlett.

It would make sense if she came back and wanted to reveal everything because she is feeling guilty xD

Somebody's getting defensive!
The baby swap was an example and a viable one, as they did do it right after Emmerdale's if I remember right.
when it comes to the Richard Hillman thing I'm gonna take a leaf out of your book, 'That was fricking years ago!' If John does end up killing people then it is similar to Lucas and Richard because it's a story about a normal man who's character degenerates into a psychopath. Religion and Money were just motivations in the Lucas and Richard storylines and fear's the motivator here. It's still essentially the same story especially when you consider that each of these character's have an innocent wife that'll eventually find out and so on and so forth.
Thanks for highlighting the Richard Hillman point though as it's made me realise that if the stape storyline takes a murderous turn then it's copying itself as well....Oh dear.
I'll start watching again when the tram disaster happens as everything leading upto it seems so dull. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Corrie can't keep up momentum inbetween big events like other soaps can and that's why I went off watching it all the time as it's so boring until the next big event or disaster occurs.
Scarlett.

Let's just leave it there anyway :p Corrie is getting a lot better at keeping up the pacing now, with a competent producer in charge, a producer who actually wants to shake the show up a bit, unlike Steve Frost and Kim Crowther whose motto was "it'll do as it is" the show has been picking up momentum really fast lately, I'd suggest you give it a go watching it now
EDIT: By the by, all soaps copy each other to some degree, like Emmerdale adding a conman in and making sure they ended the story before Corrie's (Corrie's storyline ran from December last year, Emmerdale's ran from February)

Unless it's someone we don't know like an extra character, it looks like it could be Charlotte, although I would hope it wasn't her. I like her, she adds more dynamics to the whole Stape story.
Scarlett.

I can't see John actually killing somebody actually, it's not his way

07-09-2010, 01:21 PM
Nope, I can't see that at all.
He goes from one lie to another, it's like he's suffering from Compulsive Lying Disorder. I think it gets to a point where he won't know what's real and what's not.
I really don't see him willfully taking any-one's life. (Their identity maybe lol)
Scarlett.
07-09-2010, 01:27 PM
Aye, he's not an all out psychopath like Tony, Lucas and Richard, he's just a man who can't help but get in trouble, the death could be Charlotte and John might accidentally kill her (like push her, she hits her head, and bam, John realises what he's just done)

Have you heard if there are plans in place for his exit, or is he going to stick around for some time?
Scarlett.

No idea, I am guessing the tram, but I don't know yet xD
