Neighbours' explosive send-off

Action-packed season finales have long been a staple of Neighbours, and this year's effort promises not to disappoint. While we don't want to give away too much, we can reveal that a long-running love triangle will reach its climax, before a devastating house fire takes centre stage. With several actors taking their leave from the show, multiple fatalities may not be out of the question. The brains behind the soap will no doubt be hoping to leave a lasting impression, given it will be the show's final airing on Ten. From January next year, Neighbours will relocate to Eleven.



The long running love triangle I assume is between Andrew, Summer & Natasha...

Though Steph will actually be in prison. A sentence of 6 years for causing death by dangerous driving, after knocking down & killing Ringo on her motorbike...

There are rumours that something could happen to Rebecca & Declan as Natalie Blair & David Hofflin (Carmella & Oliver) are making a brief return to Neighbours...

I didn't realise the show was in seasons, I thought it was on all the time. Having said that, I haven't seen the show since the days of Scott & Charlene.

Both Neighbours & Home & Away are currently 7 weeks behind Australia. Home & Away was only a week behind (& usually is for a few months each year) then it goes off air over here for its summer break.

Neighbours will catch up by two weeks soon as it was off air for two weeks in Australia for the Commonwealth Games...

How far we are allowed to catch up is up to channel Five, depending on how long they take them off over Xmas. I'm hoping as they usually let Home & Away catch up that Neighbours will be allowed to a bit more as well...

The most we have ever caught up before with Neighbours was 3 weeks behind on BBC One.

Yes Coronation Street is shown on UKTV in Australia & they are currently viewing episodes from May this year... They have classic episodes too on another channel & the Richard Hillman storyline is approaching its end on there :D

The 2010 season finale episode of Neighbours will air on Friday 17th December in Australia & return to Ten on Monday 3rd January, so only a two week break this year (obviously because they had a two week break for the Commonwealth Games). It then shifts channel from Ten, to new digital channel Eleven (a bit like the UK's ITV2 & E4 as it's aimed at a younger audience) on 11th January...

I expect channel Five will also take it off air for two weeks, possibly for the same period, so that the UK will remain five weeks behind Australian episodes...

Ian Smith will reprise the role of Harold Bishop in 2011. It isn't clear how long he will be back for, but I think it is just a 'flying visit'. Still will be good to see old Jelly Belly back :D

The back of the house collapsed, where Andrew & Michael were hit by part of the roof landing on them in Summer's bedroom, so can't see anyone living there again for a while!

Also note the new '11' DOG in the corner of the screen... The new channel that Neighbours now airs on in Australia...

Incidently it was due back in Oz on Monday January 3rd (on Ten) & was due to move to 11 on Janury 11th, but they changed their minds at the last minute & it didn't return until 11th, so when we catch up in a few weeks the UK will be just 4 weeks behind Australian episodes :D

I wish they had never axed the Timmins :bawling: Janelle could break up with Steiger & move back down & live with Lyn, she doesn't need any of her kids with her, although we never saw Brandon or Dwayne on screen, so they could cast a couple of hot blokes for them :D

Also one of Lou's kids could be recast & come into the show with their kids, be more for him to do. Infact have Kate & Sophie move in with Paul (he will have an empty house once Rebecca, Declan & India are gone), Lucas can move in with Michael & Natasha (once Lyn's house is rebuilt) then Lou can have some of his family move into No.24, just like Harold had :D

This is quite monumental for Neighbours, as he will be the very first regular character to be gay :D

In 2009 he joined the cast of Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities as corrupt cop Trevor Haken, winning critical acclaim and returning for follow-up series Underbelly: The Golden Mile.

Another farewell

Long-time cast member Janet Andrewartha, who plays Lyn Scully, is the latest Ramsay Street resident to pack her bags and leave the show. It isn't the first time Janet, 58, has bid farewell - her character left in 2006 before returning to the neighbourhood in 2009. "I originally came back in a guest role and ended up staying for nearly two years, so the extra time has been a bonus," she tells TV WEEK. "It's been tremendous fun and I'll miss it, but it's time to try some new things. At the moment I'm looking at some projects that I'm very excited about, which may take me interstate or overseas." While Janet remains tight-lipped about how Lyn will leave Ramsay Street, we can reveal that her exit will have big ramifications for her young grandson Charlie and Summer. Will they also be saying farewell to Erinsborough?



Janet has already filmed her final scenes & has left with Charlie. Summer will stay on the show & live with the Kennedy's...

'Neighbours' Susan Kennedy to hide MS relapse from Karl

Neighbours' Susan Kennedy will suffer from an MS relapse but decide to keep it a secret from husband Karl.

After suffering a scary episode, Susan (Jackie Woodburne) finally acknowledges she's having an MS relapse but as she goes to confide in Karl (Alan Fletcher), she sees how stressed he is over the Mayor election.

Realising that she doesn't want to burden him with her illness, Susan becomes determined to deal with it on her own.

However, as she struggles to keep her MS symptoms secret, Susan is forced to tell Kate after becoming unsteady on her feet.

Susan asks Kate not to tell anyone about her relapse and Kate agrees. However, when Kate questions what Karl thinks of all this, Susan reveals he doesn't know either.

Kate reminds Susan she can't go through this on her own but Susan remains adamant she won't tell Karl until after the election.

'Neighbours': Tina Bursill joins cast as Lauren Turner's mother Kathy

Neighbours fans will see Lauren Turner's mother pay a visit to Ramsay Street next year.

Actress Tina Bursill has been cast in the role and she will begin filming next year, a spokesman confirmed today.

Long-term Neighbours viewers will know that Lauren's mum is called Kathy and she is the former wife of Lou Carpenter.

Lauren is currently facing a testing time on screen as she battles with conflicted feelings for former boyfriend Brad Willis. Australian viewers will soon see her confide in Lucy Robinson that she is harbouring a big secret.

Neighbours promises two more returnees

Neighbours bosses have teased that two more characters will be returning to Ramsay Street this year.

Show chiefs announced the news on FaceBook today (January 31) but left fans to speculate over who the familiar faces will be.

The announcement was accompanied by an old cast shot for the soap and the clue that both characters feature in the picture.

A show statement said: "They're in this cast shot, and we're not talking about Rebecca, who's back in a few weeks!"

Steph Scully, Lyn Scully and Charlie Hoyland are among the old characters who appear in the picture, alongside Natasha Williams, Michael Williams, Summer Hoyland and Andrew Robinson.

Donna Freedman, Declan Napier, India Napier and Sophie Ramsay are other possibilities, along with Libby Kennedy, Ben Fitzgerald, Zeke Kinski and Lucas Fitzgerald.

Sam Clark's character Ringo Brown is also seen in the picture, but fans know that he was killed off in 2010.

Jane Hall's return as Rebecca was announced last year.

Matt Werkmeister, Kaiya Jones to return for special Neighbours episode

Neighbours has revealed Matt Werkmeister and Kaiya Jones as the two stars set to return to Ramsay Street.

The pair, who portrayed Zeke Kinski and Sophie Ramsay, will guest in a special celebration episode due to air in April on Australian screens.

Werkmeister - who appeared as the youngest Kinski from 2005 to 2011 - will make his return as on-screen stepmother Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) and stepfather Karl (Alan Fletcher) celebrate their 20th year on the show.

"It seems like yesterday that Matt walked on set as a young boy still at primary school, and suddenly now he's a grown man," Woodburne said. "We have shared a lot of fun storylines as well as a few tragic ones, the full gamut."

Meanwhile Jones - who was last seen as Sophie in 2013 - returns to Erinsborough before on-screen sister Kate Ramsay (Ashleigh Brewer) departs.

Neighbours star Jackie Woodburne teases "explosive situation"

Neighbours star Jackie Woodburne has teased an "explosive situation" coming up for the residents of Ramsay Street.

The actress, who plays Susan Kennedy on the soap, was speaking in a backstage video on the official Neighbours YouTube page.

The video previewed Woodburne filming a scene with Eve Morey, who plays Sonya Rebecchi, in which Sonya is frantic with worry about her son Callum.

Woodburne said: "There is a very dangerous situation happening outside. The police have warned everyone to stay indoors. But Sonya can't find Callum and naturally being the lioness mother that she is, she is going out of her mind.

"I [Susan] am here to try and keep her calm but I'm also very worried about what is going on outside because it is a very explosive situation that could have very bad consequences for all of us.

"It is walking that line between trying to keep her calm but being really frightened myself."

A statement teased: "Spoiler alert! Two former Neighbours cast members from the photo below will be returning in 2014. Can you guess who? Hint: we're not counting Lucy! Or Zeke, Sophie, Rebecca…"

The cast picture was taken in 1992 and notably includes Brad Willis's parents Doug and Pam (Terence Donovan and Sue Jones), his sister Gaby (Rachel Blakely) and cousin Cameron Hudson (Benjamin Mitchell).

Paul Robinson's former wife Christina Alessi (Gayle Blakeney) also features in the picture alongside her cousins Marco and Rick (Felice Arena and Dan Falzon).

Other possibilities are Dorothy Burke (Maggie Dence), Phoebe Bright (Simone Robertson), Beth Brennan (Natalie Imbruglia) and Toby Mangel (Ben Geurens), while Andrew Robinson is also seen in the picture as a baby.

Neighbours has previously announced return appearances for Sophie Ramsay and Zeke Kinski, while Rebecca Robinson will also soon be back on screen for a guest stint.

Neighbours: Kathy Carpenter

Neighbours bosses have revealed more details of Kathy Carpenter's upcoming arrival in Erinsborough.

As announced last month, actress Tina Bursill has been cast in the role of Kathy, who is the mother of regular character Lauren Turner (Kate Kendall).

Kathy will turn up on Ramsay Street for a guest stint next month following the recent revelation that Lauren was once pregnant with Brad Willis's daughter, who died due to complications during the birth.

Show chiefs have promised that Kathy will "add more fuel to an already simmering situation" when she drops a huge bombshell which will rock both the Turner and Willis families.

Kathy is also the ex-wife of Lou Carpenter and viewers can expect some clashes between the former couple.

Neighbours' Mark Brennan will rescue his boss Danni as she is about to be kidnapped in an upcoming storyline.

Kym Valentine to return to Neighbours for Kennedys' 20th anniversary

Kym Valentine is set to reprise her role as Libby Kennedy on Neighbours for a three-week guest stint.

The actress returned to filming on Ramsay Street today (March 11) to celebrate 20 years of the Kennedys.

"I'm really looking forward to catching up with old friends at Neighbours, as well as getting to know many of the new cast," Valentine said. "Playing Libby was a very important part of my life and I can't wait to reintroduce audiences to her."

Libby's son Ben will also return to the soap, portrayed by new actor while other returnees for the Kennedys this year will include Holly Hoyland and Malcolm Kennedy.

Adopted son Zeke Kinski has already been confirmed as another returnee to mark the occasion.

Series producer Jason Herbison added: "We warmly welcome Kym back to the Neighbours family and we are sure audiences will be excited to see Libby back on Ramsay Street."

The scenes will air on Australia's Eleven in summer.

Neighbours Ryan Moloney on possible Dee return: 'She could want revenge'

Neighbours star Ryan Moloney believes that his character Toadie Rebecchi's former wife Dee should seek revenge if she ever returned.

Viewers last saw Toadie's wife Dee in 2003 after Toadie drove their car off a cliff and into the sea, following their wedding ceremony.

Speaking in a Q+A chat session on the official Neighbours Youtube page, Moloney said that it would be 'interesting' to see Dee (Madeleine West) make a reappearance.

He said: "I think Madeleine West has moved on to some other things, namely gangland dramas where she is doing incredibly well. I think she is enjoying herself over there.

"Will Dee ever come back? It would be interesting. How could she come back?

"Maybe she could come back as a vengeful lover that I didn't keep looking for her and she needs to get revenge on me for driving her off the cliff in the first place.

Neighbours: Lauren finds out her daughter is alive

Neighbours' Lauren Turner will be shocked to the core when she learns that her secret daughter is still alive.


Viewers know that Lauren (Kate Kendall) is keeping quiet about the fact that she was once pregnant with Brad Willis's baby. However, she has always thought that the child died due to complications during the birth.

After years of being kept in the dark, Lauren finally finds out the truth about her daughter when Kathy is forced to come clean.

The drama begins when Kathy arrives in Erinsborough and sees that Lauren is preparing to share her secret with Brad and her husband Matt.

When Kathy can't convince Lauren that it's not a good idea to reveal the truth, she delivers shocking news of her own by disclosing that the baby didn't really die.

Kathy admits that she made a spur of the moment decision to lie to Lauren and kept up the pretence for many years, believing that she was protecting her.

Neighbours actress Jackie Woodburne will star as a scientist in a new science fiction series called Night Terrace.

Night Terrace is an eight-part audio comedy series written by John Richards, Lee Zachariah and the team behind the Doctor Who podcast Splendid Chaps.

Woodburne - known for her role as Ramsay Street's Susan Kennedy - will play Anastasia Black, a scientist who used to save the world as part of a secret government organisation.

Now retired and seeking a quiet life in the suburbs, she is left surprised when her house starts travelling in space and time.

Neighbours: Sheila Canning to become suspicious of daughter Naomi

Neighbours' Sheila Canning will become suspicious of her daughter Naomi after she arrives unexpectedly.

As previously reported, Morgana O'Reilly has been cast in the role as Sheila's estranged daughter Naomi who will turn up in Ramsay Street hiding several secrets.

Sheila is delighted by Naomi's appearance and is desperate to repair their damaged relationship, but soon finds it increasingly difficult to stay out of her business, especially when she becomes concerned by her sudden interest in art dealers.

While confiding in Susan over her doubts, Sheila reveals the reason why she believes Naomi hasn't contacted her in years - Naomi once had an affair with a married man and Sheila ended up contacting his wife.

Sheila later stumbles across Naomi's discarded sim card, but after she discovers her mum trying to reinstall the card to check up on her, Naomi is furious and accuses her mum of having learnt nothing from their previous fallout.

Desperate to make amends, Sheila later offers Naomi somewhere to stay until she gets her life back on track, to which she reluctantly agrees, but it is clear that Naomi is being far from honest with her mum.

It was previously reported that Naomi would test one of the show's established relationships after she sets her sights on another married man.

Neighbours: Terence Donovan returns as Doug Willis

Neighbours bosses have officially confirmed that Doug Willis is heading back to Erinsborough.

Terence Donovan has reprised his role as Doug for a guest stint and will be seen back on screen in April.

Doug's return storyline sees him pay a visit to Ramsay Street to see his son Brad, who is now played by Kip Gamblin.

In a statement, Donovan said today (March 14): "It is very exciting to be coming back as the same character after all these years and I always loved the Doug Willis character.

"And I love the fact that he is a builder and he is encouraging his young grandson [Josh] to have a trade and be proud of what you do - I think that's very important."

Doug last appeared on Neighbours in 2005 for a guest appearance as part of the soap's 20th anniversary celebrations.

He was a regular on the long-running show between 1990 and 1994.

Neighbours airs Doug's return on April 9 in Australia and April 23 in the UK.

Neighbours releases new teaser promo: 'Big things are coming'

Neighbours bosses have released a new promo which promises "big" storylines ahead over the next few weeks.

The latest trailer features the first appearance of Sheila Canning's daughter Naomi and the return of Terence Donovan as Doug Willis.

Mark Brennan also appears in the trailer as he proposes to Kate Ramsay in the build-up to her departure from the show.

As previously announced, actress Morgana O'Reilly has been cast in the role of Naomi, who has a strained relationship with Sheila.

Naomi's initial episodes will focus on whether she can reconcile with her mum, but she also has other dramas ahead as she sets her sights on one of the married men on the Street.

Donovan's reappearance as Doug was officially announced earlier today. His return will air on April 9 in Australia and April 23 in the UK.

Set to make his first appearance on the Channel 10 soap next Tuesday (on April 29), Phillips admits he was too young to remember when his character’s parents wed — in an epic episode which made local TV ratings history and launched the UK careers of Minogue and Donovan.

But thanks to YouTube, the Animal Kingdom star has been getting a crash course on his grease monkey mum Charlene, while taking a closer look at father Scott’s sensational 80s hairstyle.

When that TV pairing drove off into the sunset in 1989, leaving Erinsborough for a life unknown in Queensland, the show had reached its zenith of popularity — with Minogue and Donovan building on the exposure to chase musical and acting stardom in London.

Now their TV son, Daniel will return on a roadtrip south, dropping in on his uncle Paul (Stefan Dennis) and reacquainting himself with the place his parents first found love.

“He’s just your happy-go-lucky, hippie-at-heart nature boy,” Phillips says of his new role.

“He’s not coming in with dark secrets, he’s not coming in with baggage, he’s just happy to be alive and soaking up life.”

After trying his luck in Hollywood for two years, Phillips has returned — along with his Kiwi actor girlfriend Jessica Rose — to take up the nice guy gig.

“He sees everything in a really positive way and it’s really nice doing that every day because that flows into your real life as well. You can carry that attitude home.’’

It’s a second crack at the soap for Phillips, who appeared as “figment of Paul’s imagination” seven years ago.

Official fan pages claim Daniel Robinson was “born in 1992” with a sister, Madison following three years later.

A “footloose, fancy-free, ‘I’ll sleep in my car’ kind of guy’ Daniel is poised to clash with his career-driven uncle, but not surprisingly the writers have “guaranteed” plans to find him a Ramsay Street romance.

“He’s a super loving guy and sure to fall in love with someone,” Phillips said. “I know due to the history and popularity of Scott and Charlene, I’m sure the writers are excited to find him a beautiful love affair.”

And once he’s grown out his hair, Phillips said there should be no stopping his alter ego, joking: “the mullets always get the girls.”

Neighbours: Libby Kennedy to face problems with Ben on return

Neighbours' Libby Kennedy will face a testing time upon her return to Ramsay Street.

As announced previously, Libby will return for a three-week guest stint to celebrate 20 years of the Kennedys. She will be joined by her teenage son Ben

Viewers will learn that Libby has offered to step in as deputy principle at the school for a few weeks in order to help mum Susan.

However, her new role does not run smoothly as Libby struggles to discipline Ben, who has become a student at the school.

When Ben learns of Bailey Turner's problems with Jayden Warley, he decides to intervene, leaving Bailey mortified. Later, Jayden refuses to take Ben's interference lightly and hassles Ben, causing a fight.

Libby is forced to take charge of the situation, but when Bailey tells Libby that Jayden taunted Ben about his dad, who died years ago, she takes sympathy on her son and suspends Jayden.

Still forced to follow the rules, Libby gives Ben a detention, but when Bailey is blackmailed into changing his story, both Ben and Jayden are punished for lying.

The lives of the residents of Ramsay Street will be in danger next month, as a tornado touches down in Erinsborough!

The disaster plot begins when Ramsay Street's residents receive word that a huge storm is on the way and immediately begin making preparations to ensure that everybody stays safe.

To everyone's surprise, the bad weather turns out to be much worse than anticipated and as a tornado rages, lives are left on the line.

Most of the cast will be involved in the scenes with old favourites and newer characters all affected by the natural disaster.

Apparently Jason Donovan has said he would return to Neighbours to celebrate the shows 30th anniversary next year, but he said he will only do it if Kylie goes back with him, that would be so AMAZING!! :cheer2:

Former Neighbours star returns for zombie webisode series

Former Neighbours star Dan Paris will make a return in the show's latest zombie webisode series.

Long-term fans will know that Paris played Libby Kennedy's husband Drew Kirk, before he was killed in a horse riding accident in 2002.

Paris previously returned for the show's 20th anniversary in 2005 as part of a dream sequence, and viewers recently heard references to Drew when Libby and their son Ben returned to Ramsay Street for a brief visit.

The latest webisode series, named Neighbours: Zombies on Ramsay Street, will be launching in time for Halloween and sees the return of number of characters who all met unfortunate endings over the years.

Funded by Screen Australia's Skip Ahead scheme, the series will feature behind-the-scenes updates with local YouTube content creator Louna Maroun, who also has a starring role.

Speaking about taking part in the web series, Paris said: "This was just too much fun to pass up and it was great to see Alan and Jackie again. It was as if no time had passed - not unlike how a zombie feels I guess."

Neighbours: Zombies on Ramsay Street will be available via the Neighbours channel on YouTube from October 27.

Neighbours announces more characters featuring in zombie series

Neighbours has announced more characters returning for the show's zombie webisode series.

The Neighbours official website has announced that Ben Nicholas, who played Scott 'Stingray' Timmons and Kevin Harrington, who played David Bishop will feature in the online series titled Neighbours VS Zombies.

Recently departed Taylor Glockner, who played Mason Turner and Aaron Jakubenko, who played villain Robbo Slade will also make an appearance. The storyline will see Mason team up with Hope Gottlieb, now played by Louna Maroun, to try to stop the zombie invasion. Hope was previously on-screen as a baby in 1993.

The returnees will all join Dan Paris, who was the first name to be announced for the series last month. Paris played Libby Kennedy's husband Drew Kirk who lost his life as a result of a horse-riding accident back in 2002.

Neighbours: Nine more stars returning for 30th anniversary

Nine more returning stars have been confirmed for Neighbours' upcoming anniversary.

Original cast member Paul Keane will return as Des Clarke to mark the soap's 30th anniversary, alongside Alin Sumarwata as Vanessa, and Scott Major as Lucas.

Gary Files will appear as Tom Ramsay for the special episodes, with Andrew Williams back to play Lou's son Guy Carpenter.

Anne Scott-Pendlebury will make a special return as Aunt Hilary, after last appearing in Erinsborough in 2005.

Fans can expect to see Melissa Bell back as Lucy Robinson, alongside Stephanie McIntosh as Sky Mangel, who last appeared in 2007.

Following a seven-and-a-half year absence, Nell Feeney will also return as Janelle Timmins.

The nine guest stars join already announced returnees Ian Smith and Anne Charleston, who will return as iconic couple Harold and Madge.

Meanwhile, it has also been announced that Delta Goodrem will star in three episodes as Nina Tucker.

Neighbours will air its 30th anniversary episodes in March next year, with the episodes currently being filmed.

Neighbours star Jackie Woodburne has thanked Oscars winner Eddie Redmayne in a new video message.

Redmayne, who won the Best Actor Academy Award for his role as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, yesterday paid tribute to both Woodburne and her on-screen husband Alan Fletcher.

Responding to the tribute, Woodburne thanked Redmayne in a special video message where she also praised him for his own talent.

Neighbours has released a behind-the-scenes video which offers a first look at the Erinsborough festival disaster.

The soap is celebrating its 30th anniversary this month, with a number of big storylines planned to mark the occasion.

Australian viewers saw Erinsborough festival kick off today (March 4), marking the beginning of an exciting few weeks for the show.

Fans in the UK will have to tune in on March 18 to watch the anniversary episode, which will be the opening day of the Festival.

As previously reported, the festival doesn't run smoothly when returnee Harold Bishop accidentally drives into the marquee.

The video shows the out-of-control van emerging from around the corner, as several Ramsay Street residents are enjoying the festivities.

When Harold regains consciousness in the car, he is stunned to find his late wife Madge sitting next to him in the passenger seat. This will mark the start of a special storyline which sees Madge back as a figment of Harold's imagination.

Along with Madge and Harold, other familiar faces back for the Festival include Janelle Timmins, Lucas Fitzgerald, Vanessa Villante, Nina Tucker, Des Clarke, Sky Mangel, Guy Carpenter and Tom Ramsay.
