I blame Ofcom. BB started off as pioneering and desensitised but after too many complaints it tried to appeal to everyone or not cause offence from the modern day Mary Whitehouses.

If you watch the BB Uncut DVDs you can tell it became tamer pretty early on, whether that's the editor's decision or the self-awareness of the HMs is debateable but BB Uncut 1 had the naked clay paintings, Craig's penis and Nichola naked and everything, whereas BB Uncut 2 had Amma shaving her pubes, Penny's towel drop, various bits of nudity and even a montage of sex in the BBs from other countries lol.
