Chris Fountain, has joined Coronation Street! He will play Jack and Vera's grandson Tommy, who was last seen in 2000, and will be on-screen in late March.
Good:D. I really liked Chris in Hollyoaks and think he'll be the same in Corrie..

Corrie are doing some great casting at the moment, the street needs a new Duckworth!

Tommy Duckworth will make a shock return to the cobbles, played by former Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain.
Tommy, the grandson of the late Jack and Vera, was last seen visiting the street in 2000.
Brought up by his grandparents, after the death of his mum Lisa Horton, Terry’s son Tommy has been living in Blackpool.
Now grown up, Tommy arrives not knowing that his grandfather Jack is dead. Tommy is definitely a chip off the old block. His quick wit and easy charm soon sees him accepted as part of the community... and he has a keen eye for the ladies!
Chris, who also starred in Dancing on Ice, won’t be seen on screen until late March, but will begin filming in Weatherfield in the New Year.
He said: “I’m delighted to be joining Coronation Street, especially as I’m playing a Duckworth. I’m looking forward to upholding one of the most celebrated names in soap. I can’t wait to start filming in the New Year.”
Producer Phil Collinson said: “I have long admired Chris, right back to his first appearance on our screens as a young boy in Red Production Company’s Bob and Rose. He has the perfect balance of looks and charm and will, I am sure, create a brilliant successor to Jack. The ladies of Weatherfield had better watch out!”

Or the main soaps pinching them:p, Hollyoaks over 15 years has had some people in who could really actand have gone on to good things. Yes it's the pretty soap and some actors have been cast on looks their fault or some who couldn't act, but some people slag the show off without even seeing it and have misconceptions.

Fantastic news and what a character to play.
I was disappointed when he left Hollyoaks, but this could be even better for him.
Corrie is so exciting at the moment and with a couple of new cast signings to come It's going to be great. :D

Anything that means less screentime for the producers darlings Becky and Sean is fine by me;).
I agree, next year does look exciting for Corrie.

I loved Becky when she first came into Corrie, but they have gone overkill on her ever since she married Steve. Now I find her somewhat irritating and I'm not all that convinced with Kylie.
Sean is another one that I find highly annoying, again they are trying too hard to make him funny and it's just not working.
Well, that's how I see it anyway

I liked Becky at the start, then she just became too panto.. the producers see her and Steve as the future Jack and Vera:shocked::joker:. The overkill could kill any hopes of that!.
I liked Sean when he first arrived but then the character became vile and awful plus Cotton can't act, they've portrayed the gay characters OK but I think HO, ED and EE have done a better job of that.

Can't they make him gay? Then get the lovely Toddles back & have a late night explicit episode featuring just the two of them... :joker:
