We can exclusively reveal that James Roache, real-life son of William Roache (Ken), is set to return to the cobbles, following his introduction earlier in 2010.

James joined the show alongside his older brother Linus Roache, where they played father and son. Linus was cast as Lawrence, Ken's son he didn't know he had, until a lost letter from his ex-girlfriend Susan revealed the truth.

James played Lawence's son, also called James, who was in turn Ken's grandson. Unfortunately Ken found that Lawrence held strong homophobic views and clashed with James, who was gay.

In the story, Ken was shocked by Lawrence's opinions and tried to mediate between father and son, without great success.

Corrie have yet to reveal how James will return to the Street, but he is expected to begin filming in March 2011.

 I really couldn't care less about their characters, just a cheap way for William/Bill to say that his sons have appeared on the Street:rolleyes:.

Well maybe that was true the first time around, this time James is coming back as a regular

Meh I have no interest and they will have to work really hard to convince the viewers to take to him at first then develop the character. Only thing i'm interested in is how he would interact with Peter again and of course Tracy.

Oh and they'll probably have Bill's new missus Emma Jesson to present a weather forecast from Weatherfield News next:joker::D.

lol, Sara Roache played the Judge who sent Tracy down xD

Let's not forget that James' character is gay, so it gives Corrie a non-camp gay character again (we've only had Sean for the last year or so xD)

Indeed and she was very convincing:D.

Good point and anything is BETTER than Seantony Tully Cotton:p. James should be a bit like Christian from Eastenders, a complete different approach to a gay character than just being camp LOL.

Aye, Sean is meant to be a camp character though, Corrie have done plenty of normal gay characters (Karl, Todd, Marcus, Sonny), it's a good move with James though as his character has roots with the shows main family

How many new characters do they need?

Meh I didn't mind him though, will be interesting to see what Tracy makes of him.

They've been getting rid of quite a lot, they need to bring in characters to replace them :p

Also, 90% of the new characters are connected to current ones

I think this is a good move, he's quite a hottie too... ;)

It's good he has connections with two of the original character (His grandma said the first cliffhanger line in episode one xD)

Agree with both previous posts. Wonder if he's a new love interest for Sean? cant see those 2 getting on a million years, but you never know...

Scarlett.

I hope not xD Though they could probably be friends and go out together to Canal Street (quite a while since Corrie last filmed there xD)

Yeah, I hope not too. James out-hots Sean significantly as well as anything, but yeah if they can be mates that could be fine.

It'd be brilliant if they tempted Todd back too

Apparently his first storyline relates to Sophie and Sian

Christian is camp & he is just as much of a stereotype as Sean is in Corrie! Christian is a vest wearing gym queen! :joker:

Ted Page is probably the most normal gay character there has ever been
