Eastenders- Fallout from Janine's revelation that Stacey Slater killed Archie Mitchell plus Stacey leaving the square for good:(

Coronation Street- Tracy causing trouble as per usual and Leanne/Nick snogging again.

Emmerdale- Chas jilting Carl at the altar, Jackson going home, Andy obsessing with Katie, Eric acting weird over the Elizabeth thing.

My order would be

1) Eastenders- Kept me on the edge of my seat was gripped throughout, producers were on the verge of ruining Stacey's character but this episode changed that should she return in the future. Lacey Turner, Jake Wood, Gillian Wright, Charlie Brooks, Neil McDermott and Samantha Womack all stood out.

2) Emmerdale- I had a feeling that Chas would go through with the wedding but I cheered with delight when she chose not to, just hope she doesn't change her mind now. Some lovely scenes with Paddy/Chas, Chas/Aaron and the Dingles:D.

3) Coronation Street- Liked Tracy causing trouble but it was a meh episode, good but not up to the standard of the other two IMO.

Corrie, It had a mix of comedy, drama and was actually about Xmas, EE was all doom and gloom as usual :bored:

Emmerdale was good, but a bit meh tbh, they rushed the wedding

To be fair to Corrie they don't really play up to the whole "big climax at Christmas" the episodes are always more about the residents enjoying the day - must be the only soap not to have ever had a death on Christmas day

Did you see tonights episode by Daran Little?, Eastenders had a mix of lighter scenes and drama. The Archie plot obviously was gloomy but at least the previous producers storylines have been concluded now and EE fans can see what Bryan Kirkwood does..

I like how Corrie doesnt just try and make as dramatic episode as possible, they have drama but they throw in some comedy as well and more positive and everyday things happen as well. Although I dont watch the other two so cant really comment :p

Corrie tend to put their big episodes on during the run up to Christmas as that's when the most money is to be made from advertising. As the BBC is paid for by public money, they capitalise on this and air their biggest shows over the Christmas period. That's why Eastenders always do a big Christmas episode and Corrie doesn't.

Corrie for me, I'm loving this new even more twisted Tracy. Mary on top form and a beautiful ending with Rita singing as we watch the residents contemplate the next direction in life they will take.

EastEnders for me. Soaps should make the most of the Christmas Day episodes imo, they know lots of people who aren't necessarily fans will watch as it's tradition for families to watch the soaps at Christmas so they should pull out all the stops to make sure the episodes are good, so don't agree with whole EastEnders too much doom and gloom episode argument.

Corrie disappointed me, too much Tracey and she's much crueller this time round. It wasn't bad though and the ending was beautiful with Rita singing, really liked that and Claire looking up at the star.

Emmerdale was alright. I expected more really, it had been building up to the wedding for so long and the reveal was a bit of a let down. Eve got away unscathed which was surprising. Too much Chas lately on this show so I hope they give her a break now. I'd love to see Diane have her own storyline again, she was great in the Charlie storyline.

The reason why Chas has featured quite a bit is that it's the first time for a while that a main Christmas storyline has been centred around her, now she's got her revenge I think they will bring other storylines to the forefront so she'll be on a break.

Nothing much happened in Corrie's but it made me laugh, Emmerdale was a bit dragged out I thought. I'd say Eastenders but I did like Corrie's a lot.

Can't even remember Coronation Street's or Emmerdale's episodes now.

They were all bad in their own ways but if I had to pick it one it would be EastEnders.
I don't normally watch Emmerdale but from what I saw it seemed it was supposed to be a big climax but was ultimately a damp squib.

Coronation Street was good given the fact that the characters are supposed to still be dealing with the tram crash aftermath. But it was tarnished by the panto villain that is Tracy Barlow. I remember liking her antics last time around but I must have been blind to Kate Ford's bad acting. My mum commented that you can tell she's not acted since she last left. The best bits were Clare's grieving for Ashley. Now that's good acting.
And just a mention to Rita's cringeworthy attempt at miming in the Rovers lol.

Then EastEnders was far fetched, inconsistent (has everyone fallen in love with Stacey? What's so special about the chavvy tart?) and pretty insulting to the viewers intelligence at some stages (Janine roaming around for about an hour with a stab wound, the police taking literally forever) but the acting from all the main people involved was good and at least the episode itself was somewhat entertaining.
Lacey Turner's a brilliant actress and Stacey has had some great stories but I'm pretty glad to see the back of her. She needed to go. Just like Ronnie will need to go after her baby swap story.
