This is like a month old, but no one else has posted it and it's not really been that advertised or anything so incase anyone didn't know...

The BBC has commissioned a new online Waterloo Road spinoff.

Waterloo Road Reunited will focus on former characters from the drama, including Bolton, Michaela, Janeece, Philip, Aleesha and Paul.

The project is expected to include a mixture of episodes, fictional social media networks, fan sites and audio.

BBC Drama's multiplatform commissioning executive Sarah Clay said: "Unlike most dramas, Waterloo Road is unique in that every year popular characters have to leave the show because they leave school.

"This leaves Waterloo Road's massive online fanbase with a natural thirst to find out what happened to the likes of Bolton and Michaela. We wanted to give fans a chance to follow their lives online. The video will focus on events that bring the ex-pupils together, but the story extends beyond video, allowing the audience to follow their lives as if they were friends with them on Facebook."

This isn't the first time the BBC have created an online drama based on one of their already popular shows, back in January 2010 they launched EastEnders: E20 to the web.

Waterloo Road Reunited is scheduled to launch in Spring 2011.
Waterloo Road's Sixth Series, currently on a break, is expected to return to the BBC in January, with Series 7 starting later this year.

It sounds interesting.

I loved Bolton. The guy was epic, Paul was a knob.
Michaela was an OTT prat, Daniella and Aleesha were too horny bitches who got boring very fast, We already know what bloody Janeece did... she got pregnant and came back to Waterloo Road, why on earth she's featured is unreal.

So I'm really just watching to see what Bolton gets up to, It's a shame they didn't include the likes of Mika, Chlo and Donte.

Those 3 were really favourites amongst the Waterloo Road Fans, and I'd much rather know what Chlo and Donte got up to than ******ing Paul and Aleesha.

I quite liked Marley and Flick from Series 4 too and they've also left them out.

But anyway, Who's excited for it?

Another thing that sounds good is that we can get involved now and interact with the characters on social sites, so that sounds very unique.

Actually, It sounds like Seven Days only difference being we won't effect the storyline.

Can't say i'm interested in a tacky spinoff but am excited for the rest of series 6!

Yeah it should be good to see what Becks is like.

Series 6 has been quite disappointing though, I wasn't a fan of Series 5 but looking back it wasn't that bad compared to how the first half of this series has been so I may even buy that Series on DVD, Just to rewatch some of it.

It's a shame they got rid of Lindsay, Jenna Louise Coleman's character so early on in Series 5 she would of been a great long term character to have.

Janeece- amazing character. Was so believable- you had to watch the first series of the show to see what an absolute legend she was. So what she came back with a baby- she still makes good viewing and is part of the reason why I still watch the show.

Paul- why was he 'a knob' he was a great sidekick to Bolton and had a great storyline when he came into the show.

Lewis Seddon- Arguably as good as Janeece, was a believable funny character- some of the kids from my school were like him. Had a had great story lines and basically lead the first two series.

Mika Chlo and Donte- They were great characters and it was stupid we didn't get to say goodbye to Mika- she just left.

Wish we could see what some of the teachers were up to, Jasmin, Matt, Davina or Jack.

WR has got worse and worse. Series 1,2 and 3 were epic and was gripping every episode- great story arcs and for the first series the simple storyline of Tom's affair was quality. Now it's got more and more complicated and stupid. I'll still watch as I have since Day One however it will never be as good as it used to be. As soon as Rachel left I felt like giving up but then Janeece returned and I'll still watch! :)

Lindsay was okay. She had a good character but I can't see how they could develop her with more interesting storyline- yes she got angry at times but she was Rachel's little pet, she loved her- Lindsay went at the right time defiantly. What was good about her was that defining storyline. She doesn't want to be an overused character like Michaela or Danielle.

I've quite liked Series 6 so far, although saying that i've loved them all to date, i think working in a school i just familarise the day to day situations on the show that i see, makes me feel at home in a way lol!

Like the logo by the way- the tie's becoming somewhat iconic to the show.

I loved Janeece, Don't get me wrong and she's adorable the way she called baby Cheryl and said she'd call it Ashley if it was a boy :joker:
But I just think having her in this is irrelevant when she's already on the main series again anyway.

Paul was annoying, Because of the way he tried to kiss up to Bolton all the time and failed. He had so many cringey moments, and really annoyed me.

Lewis was brilliant yeah, but unfortunately he isn't in WR Reunited.

I agree Mika was amazing, But she just left for Uni which was a shame :(

The teachers too were great, I would love to know what made Matt and Jasmine leave!
They just seem to dissapeared, also Jo Lipsett aswell!
Where on earth did she go too?

Series 4 was quite good though, I think it was after that it went downhill.

Series 3 was top quality with the fire at the end.
Series 4 remains my favourite though, The series finale was kind of dissapointing and over the top and very unrealistic but that kind of marked the start of Waterloo Road going downhill and becoming... well VERY OTT and VERY Unrealistic.

Which is a great shame.

Sorry- agree about Janeece- why's she on this- we know what she's doing!

Paul was interesting and kind of dark in a way- he was Bolston's sidekick which Bolton needed really. He didn't have many of his own storylines- he was just sort of well- there.

They should have so brought back Lewis- that would have make it.

Mika was way more interesting than Chlo- I got bored of Chloe after series 3.

Jasmine and Matt were great teachers- I liked Jasmine inperticular- at first she was struggling to control the class and we saw her develop.

I agree- series 4 was okay I suppose.

The Series 3 fire was epic! I've always wanted to see a fire in a school drama and it was great. I'd LOVE to see another proper big fire at WR- maybe an explosion or something- would be epic. The way it brings the whole cast together.

Agree about Series 4's finale- I expected alot after Series 3's finale. With series 3 you had the whole of Rachel's story building up for a big finale- and then the fire with Chlo trapped in the toilets- easily best finale.

With series 4 it was just a choir competition which 'the whole school went too' and a digger being driven into the front of the school.

I suppose the writer's have to make some sort of drama out of it but it's become extremely unrealistic. With series one and two you had basic plots with not that bigger outcomes but every episode of series 5 & 6 you've had big problems and when I go to school I sometimes think- None of what happens in WR would never happen. If it did it'd become a whole lot more interesting.

It isn't a soap...

It kind of is, and I posted it in here because I'm use to clicking on the Soap sub-forum.

And yeah it actually is a soap in the sense that it's basically exactly like EastEnders and Corrie only for a younger audience, like Hollyoaks.

The only difference being it isn't on every single day.

All I know is the series starts up again sometime this month :)

I asked Darcy Isa [Lauren Andrews] on Twitter a few weeks back about when it'd return and she said she hadn't got a clue :(

But I'd expect it'll be soon :D

And you're welcome

It isn't. It's a drama. Shall we start discussing Shameless in here as well then?
