Should it be a 'brand' for children? The stationary and clothing is all over the place - should it be readily available (for kids) given it's foundations?

What kind of stupid parent would think a porn company logo was suitable for their child? That said, there are some spectacularly stupid irresponsible parents out there so doesn't surprise me at all.

doesn't matter what it is...its a symbol for a porn company. Everybody recognises it. And if the child isn't aware of it then they should be told. Otherwises they are endorsing a product unwittingly.

Anyone who thinks that a well known and unmistakeable soft porn logo is appropriate for children because it's "just a bunny" and kids don't know the connection, are missing the point entirely. It's yet another instance of the sexualization of children - paedophiles certainly know what the brand logo denotes, and in their sick and twisted minds they convince themselves that kids are as sexually available as adults. Why not just give the kid a T shirt with "Come and Get Me" printed on it?

Parents who dress their daughters like LA hookers are particularly vile. I blame the likes of hip hop videos that portray all blokes as powerful, macho types, and the women as begging for it *****s. The likes of Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears are now the role models for little girls:rolleyes: And don't try and tell me that kids aren't influenced by pop culture - it's the job of a parent to protect and guide, not be a kid's "friend" by allowing them to wear crap like this.

Got to love the voice of the moral majority, I would be more intent on bannning products that sexualise young children. Padded bras for primary school children etc.

Do you also advocate the boycotting of all of Katie Prices products, her perfume, toys and books as well as childrens clothing, given she was a topless model and has appeared in her own porn movies (somewhat harder porn than the average playboy magazine)?

A part of me thinks.. Oh it's just a bunny logo.. why should it matter? But suppose the meaning behind it does matter. Imagine being at school with your playboy pencil case. One of your teachers is probably perving over you even more. Ridiculous when I was at school. The "popular" girls with too much makeup and sh!t and trying to bum a teacher who was apparently good looking. I reckon the so called "good looking" teacher wouldn't say no to an offer of a 15 year old girl showing a bit of cleavage!

Anyway.. these products should not even be sold in the children's department. Some merchandising companies may think "oh we are just pinching the logo" but others will think deeper.

I watched a show last night about kids having it all too young. Was on repeat. Oh with the padded bras thing for year 5's to 6's... an argument for it was.. padded bras actually give you more protection to cover up. To protect your breasts more. I can see where that is coming from. I suppose if you put a strappy top and all that underneath people won't notice as much you have bigger breasts. If you put more lairs on then you will just look to have a bigger body rather than bigger breasts.

Anyway children should be children for as long as possible.

Mmm a part of me thinks Jordan's topless modelling and her coming out with a perfume etc.. are two different things?

I don't think children under the age of 16 should really look up to Jordan. Children under 16 should not think.. "when I am older I want to be a wag and take my clothes off". They should have other ambitions. Once they get to like the age of 18.. then well you are an adult and can do what you want. If they then want to take their clothes off for a living then they can do so if they wish. Just that at a young age they shouldn't be contemplating about all this. Like I said they should be left as children for as long as possible. Blockage of porn sites and that for children living in a household who are under the age of 16 should happen!!

They will have high ambitions. I am just saying children nowadays whether they have a playboy pencil case or not.. most of their ambitions is to become famous, be a topless model or a wannabe wag. If you choose to do that at 18 then fair enough. We are in a recession and people should be more open minded when it comes to career choices.

To be fair most with playboy pencil cases probably don't know the meaning. Depending on their age.

Playboy is no more perverse or inappropriate than showing kids ancient greek and roman statues of nude models. Playboy never shows any kind of sex, they never show any kind of insertion or masterbation. They simple show nude models.

Playboy get's lumped in with other porn mags such as hustler or penthouse, but they arn't anything like those other porn mags.

You all sound like the same prudes that made complaints to the FCC about Janet Jackson's Super Bowl "wardrobe malfunction".

It's not offensive when you are an adult and have the right to show your vagina off in porn mags. However children are not allowed to do that and should not be thinking of stuff like that as a child.

Playboy doesn't show the vagina though in the way yur implying. they don't do close ups of the vagina. They don't do "spread-eagle" shots. You obviously have never read playboy.

I have mixed feelings on this issue....First reaction is it seems a no brainer in other words NO Children should not be exposed to the brand name of Playboy even if they don't know what it means but some day they will find out.....

Second train of thought is that here in Britain we are plagued by prudish mentalities and censorship mania......Most of which is not any where near as harmfull as some usually of a religious source claim........Take a look at many countries which are far more anti censorship than Britain and their children seem to grow up perfectly stable an unharmed compared to Britain with its high abortion rates and sexual activity of the underaged......

In Britain polititions love to blame the sex industry for children going wild.........I bet any amount of money that if it were possible to ban all forms of porn off the internet and other media. The children of Britain would still be as some are now experimenting with sexual activity far to young.

When I was 12 years old a long long time ago with no internet and no porn available to the young (It was a crime to own in those days). Guess what children were experimenting with sex at the back of the old bike sheds or where ever......Girls got pregnant but were hidden away.........It all happened just like now but was not seen

Our political moralists who think nudity and a bit of erotics is harmful had better look elsware as for decades they have and are barking up the wrong tree....

The main moral decline attitudes does not come about as a result of porn it come from TV soaps and series that broadcast story lines with one night stands and swapping partners at will. Broadcast before the watershed for all ages to pick up the moral attitudes portraid as being the way life should be.......That is where the bloody harm to our youngsters really comes from.......

Footnote: Families who are genuin nudists raise their children to accept nudity as perefectrly normal and not disgusting.......

Now the problem with the playboy brand is that it can be relatively mild pinup stuff right up to down right hard core.......

Shaun

Ignoring the morality, I just find the brand tacky. I don't think girls buy it because it's dirty, but because it's cool. It's a sign of the glamourisation of adulthood towards children (seen in makeup, padded bras, I think poledancing classes...) - sad, tacky but not the root of the problem.

Its a matter of personal perception. I find football sad and tacky but it would be wrong of me to claim that is actually is.....It's just my perception like your feelings towards playboy is your perception but like my perception cannot be claimed as a fact...........Each to their own really.....

That's incredibly rude. You seem to have the power to decide what is suitible or not suitible on this site. IS mocking someone's name in such a childish, bullying manner acceptable??

so if i call you Kerry-Kocksucker, that's okay too then?

I have not insulted you personally ONCE. I've asked a very relevant question.

Neither does she, I think, a typical tactic from her, when she loses an argument on in the wrong, throw some other garbage out to the forum.

Bloody hell I only asked this thread was kept on topic as it's in serious debates. Talk as much crap as you like elsewhere. And no, I never asked for anything to be deleted

I don't have access to all of the posts deleted. And i'm in no position to question the judgement of those posts being censored.

So because neigther of us have access to the original conflict in the "posh" threat, i said i dropped it.

I don't think it matters really. It's just a fashionable logo that doesn't mean anything in that form, It reminds me of those Che Guevara bags and such from a few years ago, most people that wore them didn't really care about him beyond simple fashion so the imagery didn't hold any meaning. Most people I knew that wore them didn't know who he was nevermind the history behind him.

The Playboy brand for kids is ridiculous. Unless you want people perving after your kids, which I'm guessing no one wants. Kids are sexualised too early.
