Default Playboy

Should it be a 'brand' for children? The stationary and clothing is all over the place - should it be readily available (for kids) given it's foundations?

I'm no prude but Playboy outfits for 5 year olds? No

I think there is really something wrong with parents who get playboy stuff for their kids. The children might be better in foster homes.

I just said good for you

My problem isn't at it beING aimed at teens so much. It's the merchandise being aimed at little kids. The pencils and folders and pencil cases right next to 'Hello Kitty' in WH Smiths (example)

What kind of stupid parent would think a porn company logo was suitable for their child? That said, there are some spectacularly stupid irresponsible parents out there so doesn't surprise me at all.

They shouldnt even be selling it in childrens outlets. If they are.

doesn't matter what it is...its a symbol for a porn company. Everybody recognises it. And if the child isn't aware of it then they should be told. Otherwises they are endorsing a product unwittingly.

Anyone who thinks that a well known and unmistakeable soft porn logo is appropriate for children because it's "just a bunny" and kids don't know the connection, are missing the point entirely. It's yet another instance of the sexualization of children - paedophiles certainly know what the brand logo denotes, and in their sick and twisted minds they convince themselves that kids are as sexually available as adults. Why not just give the kid a T shirt with "Come and Get Me" printed on it?

Parents who dress their daughters like LA hookers are particularly vile. I blame the likes of hip hop videos that portray all blokes as powerful, macho types, and the women as begging for it *****s. The likes of Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears are now the role models for little girls And don't try and tell me that kids aren't influenced by pop culture - it's the job of a parent to protect and guide, not be a kid's "friend" by allowing them to wear crap like this.

I've always found it a bit strange that Playboy was such a popular brand among 12/13 year old girls, but I suppose it doesnt carry the same associations as it does for most adults

Got to love the voice of the moral majority, I would be more intent on bannning products that sexualise young children. Padded bras for primary school children etc.

Do you also advocate the boycotting of all of Katie Prices products, her perfume, toys and books as well as childrens clothing, given she was a topless model and has appeared in her own porn movies (somewhat harder porn than the average playboy magazine)?
