Warning: this thread may contain traces of nostalgia

Right. Current gameshows that any nobody can apply to:
The Chase - ridiculously difficult questions, up against 1 of 3 clever people, who has to answer about 20 questions in 2 minutes to leave you walking away with nothing.
Deal or No Deal - chance. No actual rewarding merit.
Eggheads - you're against 5/7 incredibly clever people.
Million Pound Drop - pretty dodgy questions + pressure ensure you're never left with more than £50K by the end.

The only one that's relatively straightforward that I know of is The Weakest Link.

Every single other straightforward gameshow has been changed to only allow on celebrities playing for charity (Family Fortunes, Who Wants to be a Millionaire?). Whilst this is all lovely - it's also pretty horrible for us commonfolk. I want to win £10k by knowing a few catchphrases or filling in some vowels :bored:

oh and I ignored the ones where you have to humiliate yourself. (100 Ways to Leave A Gameshow; The Cube)

Yeah, not good for Gameshows at the moment, it's boring watching Z list celebs all the time. Family Fortunes is worst for it :bored:

Wheel of Fortune, Supermarket Sweep

I've been watching them on Challenge recently, loved them so much :(

Million Pound Drop is the only gameshow that's really grabbed me recently, though I was getting in to Goldenballs at the end of its life

And the Crystal Maze :)

I don't mind some of the gameshows on now. Million Pound Drop always has me hooked.

Oh.. please bring back FORT BOYARD too!

Someone won 26p on Deal or No Deal today. They still beat the banker because they had 10p in their box

I loved Gladiators. It was better in the days when Ulrika Johnson hosted it too. It needs to come back.

Remember Wolf man?? LOL epic!
