EastEnders: 'The Glow Effect'?

I just watched EastEnders from Tuesday Night there now, and can see exactly what Chewy meant when he said it looked like a Porno!

What the hell is up with the new effects?

Everything glows alot now and it seems to give it a sexy kind of feel, which is odd considering the show isn't Hollyoaks.

So I don't know, does anyone know why they've done this?

Is it for good?
Did they switch Cameras or is it something to do with HD?

Apparently not all the sets are HD ready, so they added the glow effect, also the transition from SD to HD didn't seem to stand out much - when Corrie did it, there was a huge change in the look of the show
