What an episode:), Jane Cox has done brilliant with this storyline and I hope it raises more awareness but poor Lisa:(.
The Dingles are class:), Zak's reaction got me because I think he's such an underrated character and Steve Halliwell is an underrated actor and although Zak is a hothead etc Lisa is right that he should just steer clear of Derek and don't get in trouble even though most would understand that Zak would want to kill or beat him up.

I hope Derek goes to prison for a long time, I like the way Emmerdale have handled the storyline, it's not been played for ratings

I know some laugh at Hollyoaks but their storyline regarding rape at the moment is interesting and causing debate as it's not certain who out of the two characters is telling the truth and how easy it is to ruin someones life by accusing them of something they might not have done...
Ooh is that a dig at EastEnders?, i'm sure most of the soaps have done something regarding ratings at some stage:p, you're telling me that Corrie didn't just do the tram crash because of the 50th celebration:p.

Not a dig at anyone, Emmerdale could have easily sensationalised the story, but they chose not too, unlike the rest do

Oh right, sorry I got confused:blush:.
Like I said most of the soaps sensationalise for PR reasons and so that the message of the story gets across, although sometimes the subletly and sensitivity of a storyline is only what is needed:).

Aye, Corrie never seems to ever do a proper rape storyline, they've gone close to it with David and Tina last year, and Frank's attempted rape of Maria next week, the only time they did do the story was ten years ago with Toyah Battersby

Are they afraid of the OFCOM complaints or something:rolleyes:, sometimes they need to take a risk.. most of the soaps have done them before and some have worked, some not but you never know;).

Anything remotely dark seems to upset some older Corrie viewers and sends them into a frenzy of "It's becoming like EastEnders" or "I miss the days when Ena used to rollerskate down Rosamund Street with fishnets on her tits", I'm glad Phil is tackling some darker subjects - The storyline with Marc for example Audrey finds out he's a transvestite after she finds him beaten up by a gang of homophobic thugs, I think the reason Frank doesnt go through it is to give the storyline more longetivity

I think the performance was good but it did fall a bit short of intense drama for me.

Soap acting isn't real acting. No rehearsal time, just read it - record it. That Emmerdale clip was dreadful. 'Crying' with her face away from the camera. Stock reactions.

You really are speaking utter rubbish.
Scarlett.
25-02-2011, 12:29 PM
Soap actors are probably the most hardest working actors out there, they have to constantly keep learning new lines and giving good performances every week, it's not like a drama where they have a limited amount of lines and scenes

How on earth is soap acting not "real" acting?? :conf: What are they doing then?? Some A list Hollywood stars are shocking actors, there are a good few soap actors who could act the pants off them...
