I am in love with this! It was made in 2007 and it's just debuted over here on BBC4. Basically the first series focuses around 'The Night Shift' at a petrol station, and in the following two series the characters work in a hotel, and then end up in prison. (No idea how... only on episode 4).

It is in Iceland though, with english subtitles. Might not be to all of your tastes, but I can imagine it appealing to Shaun as we have similar comedy tastes. I found the subtitles annoying for the first episode but then I forgot all about them.

(If you liked Twenty Twelve, The Thick of It, Extras, Getting On, The Office, Peep Show, The Great Outdoors and The Trip kind of comedy rather than Two Pints of Lager and Coming of Age stuff this is for you)

Hmm, I'm not to sure actually as I don't have a TV so I am just watching it from iPlayer. There are 8 episodes on there already though

I like the way each episode starts with a horoscope. It's a nice little feature that kinda reinforces the whole narrow-mindedness of Georg

Yeah I love that aswell. I'm already really addicted and I doubt BBC4 will buy the other 2 series or film so when I have seen all of this I'm going to have to look online for a subtitled version.

Also theme tune

'Peronel on the forecourt...'
