Best murder storyline in a soap?

As you all probably know there has been so many murders in soaps, such as Archie Mitchell in Eastenders, Tom King in Emmerdale, Maxine Peacock in Corrie, Sarah Barnes in Hollyoaks.

But what do you think was the best? This includes the aftermath like if it was "whodunnit" or not, the build up, or the actual murder itself.

Personally I thought Maxines murder in Coronation Street was very shocking and brutal, how nobody saw it coming as Richard was targeting Emily, and how they had promoted the murder in a tv advert called "Killer Corrie" and yet Maxine wasn't even in the add, so you had no idea that Maxine could have been a potential victim.

I'm sure I left out a couple, but what murder/murder storyline do you think was the best out of any soap?

I liked the Killer Katy storyline in Corrie, she was the first female killer in the show and the first killer since Richard Hillman, I liked Angela trying to cover it all up

Zoe, Sarah & Lydia all went skydiving, Lydia was jealous of Zoe so she cut the string thingy on Zoes parachute, the parachutes got mixed up and Sarah ended up getting the bandy parachute so she fell to her death.

Lydia cut the parachute cords intending to kill Zoe because she saw Sarah and her kissing but the parachutes got mixed up and Sarah took the dodgy one:bawling:.

1) Dirty Den Watts because of the set up, the death itself and the aftermath. All brilliant. All 3 women had good reasons to hate him, his death was quite dark and gritty and even then when we thought Zoe did it there was the twist he was still alive but Chrissie finished him off! So then it was all about Chrissie manipulating Zoe in to thinking it was all her fault, and Sam blackmailing Chrissie, Sharon and Dennis coming back and Chrissie lying to them and befriending Sharon, then Kat coming back and finding out, Zoe's exit, Stacey providing the alibi for Zoe, that epic wedding day when Sam dug Den up, the return of Peggy, the rturn of Phil and Grant, Chrissie falling for Jake and them planning to run away together, then Johnny Allen getting involved. It affected pretty much everyone.

2) Richard Hillman storyline. I do think it was OTT and still think Maxine's murder itself was overrated but I liked how it was dealt with. And because he only wanted to kill Emily but Maxine stumbled in to it all.

3) Katy Harris because, like someone said, the way Angela tried to cover it up and then being sent down and Katy's guilt were all amazing.

The Who Killed Archie Mitchell story was entertaining and watchable but it was way too similar to the Dirty Den one and the aftermath was an awful mess that started the end of Stacey. IMO Bryan kirkwood made her a completely dislikable husband-stealing, murderous, selfish cow by the end. Was glad to see the back of her after actually liking the character until 2010. Plus the Pauline Fowler doggy doorstop is a pretty unique murder weapon anyhow but the Archei Mitchell one went completely bat sh!t using the Queen Vic bust.

I loved Stacey and of course she was no saint but husband stealing LOL.. Max was willing to have an affair and risk his family even though at first she started it as revenge on Bradley for forcing her to have an abortion.

Agree about the Archie thing but I can still see her returning in the future.

Everyone seems to forget about Stacey's part in this storyline, cornering Chrissie and forcing her to admit the truth and then giving Zoe a false alibi for the sake of Kat even though she and Zoe didn't like each other, thankfully they made up before Zoe left:D.

It was horrific:shocked:. A few HO deaths have disturbed me like serial killer Toby Mills leaping to his death from a building and Andy Holt the rapist being impaled onto a spike after running into a darkened room whilst chasing the Burton twins after he tried to rape them:shocked:.
