I actually can't think of anything more boring than bein one of those soldiers in the busy hats who guard the likes of Buckingham Palace. They must stand for hours like statues whilst people stare at them or take photos of them... is like to speak to one and ask if they've ever seen anything that made them burst out laughing. I wonder what they think of whilst doing their job?

Also a queue buster at Asda must be pretty crappy!

In the slums in India (or thereabouts) etc: there are men who have to quite literally - clean out the crap houses by lowering buckets down, filling the bucket, pulling it up - emptying into a big bin and then lug the bin to empty it - raw sewage from god knows how many people.

That's got to be the worst thing I ever watched on TV - documentary about it (Lenny Henry, Angela Rippon, etc). I was sick, putrid, incredibly sad not to mention heartbreaking to watch.

Sadly a job that I would love to do. Be a nurse

Often thankless. Underpaid. Wipe up after people (Sh!t, piss, puke and the rest). Watch people die. Needles/blood. Following orders from up their own arse doctors/Sisters. Seeing people suffer......

Personally...the worst job I could think of for myself would be working in an office.

Strange answer, but I get bored way too easily, did some temping a few years back and was stuck in an office for 2 weeks until I eventually walked out. I would rather scratch out my own eyeballs that do that ever again :bored:

fisherman... I don't really get seasick, but I hate the ocean, the smell of fish, the amount you'd have to gut/kill, the physical labour and the early mornings.

And to top it off you get managed by something that looks like it could stare in the Hills have Eyes Part 3

God yeah! I couldnt even force myself to work with fish; alive or dead!

I don't like (well, am scared/humbled) the ocean either but strangely enough I like boats, so I could quite happily work on a ship or summat :)

The worst job i ever had was as a dishwasher at an all-you-can-eat vegetarian buffet restaurant. There is nothing more annoying than washing the same dish 5 times every night. and you start to recognize each dish. You notice little things like slight cracks, or how the pattern has faded on certain parts. and you realize, i just washed this same dish 2 hours ago....

I totally understand why postal workers go insane after working that job. The mail just keeps coming and coming. Mail or dishes doesn't matter, Repetition destroys yur brain.

I don't mind being at a computer and desk, but to suffer it everyday for hours on end, no thank you. That is not for me and is my idea of hell.

I have so much to do in so little time, that it just flies by for me and I rather enjoy sitting on my own.. I can work and still go off into my own wee world :)

I'm sort of like this too. I can retreat to my office and close the door for peace, quiet and no interruptions, allowing me to crack on.

When I decide I want to hear what's going on but not have direct invovlement, the door is left open.

When I want to get into the thick of it: I'll take a seat in the main office, plonk myself down there.

I can escape to the warehouse and check how things are faring out there when all of the above doesn't appeal.

Failing all of that... I will nip outside with a cuppa and a smoke.

All in all: I love the 'office' enviroment - but I'd hate to be chained to my desk (call centere style) all day long:- and I don't expect my staff to have to work like that either - that must be so demoralising not to mention boring as hell.
