Former EastEnders star Joe Swash is returning to the soap, it has been confirmed.

The actor, who was axed as Mickey Miller in 2008 after five years on the show, will return next week to film two episodes involving on-screen brother Darren's wedding to Jodie Gold.

"Typically, Mickey arrives back for Darren's wedding but he's more interested in giving his little brother a proper knees-up to celebrate his last night as a bachelor," a source told the Daily Star Sunday.

"He's pleased to see some of his old mates but when he finds out what they've planned for Darren's stag do he realises he has to take control as it's pretty dire.

"Luckily for Darren, big brother Mickey makes sure he gets one hell of a send-off before his big day."

Earlier this year, it was announced that actor Charlie G. Hawkins, who plays Darren, would be leaving EastEnders.

Swash recently signed up to star in new ITV2 game show Minute to Win It with Caroline Flack.

Nice bit of continuity there:), shame the rest of the Millers cannot make it.

Hated the Millers: a group of bloody chavs.

He's only staying two episodes for:

Darren and Jodie's wedding.

I'm glad he'll only be there for two episodes - none of his cast additions have worked, and they've been completely destroyed, even the ones with potential, e.g. Zoe Lucker/Vanessa Gold.

Oh that's a relief then, never rated him much as an actor. Would have preferred Dawn to return instead to be honest, or Rosie. Seems hard to believe that Rosie would miss her own son's wedding. Plus there's Keith and Demi too, I know it's not always possible to bring certain characters back but I bet they weren't even asked.

I love how the Daily Star report has the tagline "Sensational return to Eastenders for Joe Swash". Then in the article mentions it's two episodes for Darren's wedding. Oh, the drama.

I loved Mickey - a good fun character, hopefully he decides to stay longer next time.

Don't think he will stick around. Once Darren's had his exit there's no more Millers. And Gary and Minty have gone so there's no friends for him neither.
