Oh there's always ******ing one.

Just leave, just actually turn off and stop it - because I actually cba with people like you bringing the whole forum down for a second series in a row, it's great okay?

It's better than BB10 and BB11 - and that's that.

And it's amazing how everyone who moaned about CBB8 has now joined me and the other members on the good side, who can appreciate the new era of Big Brother - but of course we still have people like you creating threads trying to bring the mood down.

You're in the minority now, I'm open to people having opinions and that, but it's seriously getting beyond a joke now, this is meant to be a BB Forum for fans - and it seems like it's over run by haters, and THAT turns new members away - just thought Admins should take a little note of that.

It's not as fly on the wall as it used to be but perhaps it needed freshening up. Time will tell really.

No one cares, we're enjoying it for what it is. It's not gonna be unedited and we will not get LF even though a lot of us do want it, but even so the series will be great for what it is now either don't watch or get used to the changes like the rest of us.

Without any substance?

Big Brother hasn't had a "serious undertone" since series 1.

How sad is it that some people cannot accept that others have a viewpoint , even though it is not theirs?
Dictators through the ages have stifled ANY critiscm that did not fit with their beliefs.

That's what Big Brother's been for years and years and years and years now you nutbar. Believe it or not the vast majority of the 3-5 million people who tuned in didn't do so to follow a deeply engrossing psychological drama. I see the value in Big Brother as that type of show but I realize I'm in the minority. Most people don't sit around watching the feed all night charting the housemates development. They just want something stupid to watch for an hour.

Exactly what Ch 5 is now delivering.

To be fair, this is how Channel 4 initially pulled in the viewers way back in 2000. And like BB1, it won't last the entire series, just long enough for viewers to get familar with the housemates.

No, I think many people don't like the cheapening of the show. Yes the show has had vacuous HMs before, particularly in series 7 to 9. But 10 and 11 were better and a return to TV that was less trashy.

It seems many on the forum are simply those who wish to Post "Whooo X, Y , Z to WIN!!!!!" types, which, one guesses, is fine. I saw BB close up,last year and left with the distinct impression that anyone with an IQ higher than 70 was at a disadvantage. What that tells you about UK society may or may not bear examining.

I absolutely disagree with this. The last two years were definitely less trashy, if we forget the stupid tasks they had outside for the crowd last year anyway. But now they have gone to the kind of people they had at the start of the 7th or 8th series and it's actually going backwards and not forwards.

I like it. You don't want mature people that have already lived life and are careful. Pam Anderson does put a damper on the house because she is older and appears as a mother figure.
The young people have the Potential to be stupid and provide interesting viewing. They act more like caged rats.

Well, maybe they're just trying different things, maybe they'll mix it up a bit next year so it's not always the same. I think it's working so far this year tbh. It's a change from the last few years anyway which was needed.

How any of you can defend this piece of **** is so frustrating. They fill a house with professional actors, take away the livefeed, half the show is music & cheesy effects that leave you wondering wtf just happened & end not knowing anything more about any of the hms you're implored to vote for. The producer has come out & said it's not a reality show anymore so wtf are you lot arguing about? The thread title is fact! It's now just one the vast jersey shore remakes that every channel seem to be ****ting out but this channel choose to spend £80M on it & call it big brother, how clever/

This. the original concept is long gone, people are too wise to the show and how it works now.

It's a different flavour with more than a touch of TOWIE -but it still has BB controlling.

We've got the mix of the good, the bad, the ugly and the down right nasty................ exactly the things that made BB all those years ago.

How about people give it a chance, let it bed in for a few weeks. It isn't the BB of old ...... times change.

BBUSA went this way and now BBUK is really just about 'Big Brother' in name and superficial appearance only. It could just as easily be any number of reality television programs now. Not really any point or purpose in the 'live cameras 24 hours a day' angle. 'Big Brother' is no longer any kind of 'ominous dictator' at all. Just a prep room.

What I can't help but wonder is why don't they just go ahead and make 5 more of these and go ahead and call them 'Summer Sauna House' or 'Model Home'. Why use the Big Brother name and replace Big Brother?

Here is a wild thought but bear with it:

Why couldn't another channel create a new series where 12 complete strangers chosen from ordinary stations in life around the country be isolated from the outside world inside a home rigged with cameras and mics catching every move. Then allowing ANYONE outside to follow and listen to their every word.
A disembodied director would dictate their every move and chore. No clocks, phones, no news, no privacy. They could call it 'Orwellian House'.

Now, suppose Channel 5 complained? What would the complaint be? They would say what? That the new series was a counterfeit? a version of theirs? a 'rip-off'?
I suggest they could not successfully prove that in court now. In fact, 'Orwellian House' would be different and (at this point) have almost nothing in common with 'Big Brother'.

Think about it. No more similarities (and more differences) than today's Big Brother has with a dozen other prerecorded reality programs.

Many forum members have been watching BB for years. We have a perfect right to comment. I think this series absolutely stinks. We're two days into it and already I've lost interest. We have thread after thread of "who is the hottest housemate" because there's nothing else to say.

The only thing I can't seem to adjust to is the editing of the show and the weird music they insist on playing sometimes. It makes me feels cringey at times.

I think C5 have focused too much on trying to please the younger 'reality TV generation' by jazzing everything up and putting 'beautiful' housemates in the house. However this has come at a cost of the majority of viewers who want a bit more depth in their entertainment rather than just bitching and sexy people.

well the stalls been set out now and it is what it is. They aint gonna change it now and we're certainly stuck with these HMs.

So just go with the flow or decide to give BB a miss. And stop being so precious about the BB brand. It really hasn't had any depth or real substance for many many years. Worldwide its now a trashy name. Thinking back to many of its most famous stars they were really just as shallow and desperate as this bunch. So not much as changed.

Exactly! If we truly cared about "substance" and the older HM's then our favourites would not be all the young crazy ones who have showmances and blow outs.

I agree with this!

I was a C4 Big Bro veteran. Every summer would be taken up watching the series and gettting emotionally invested in it.

I've stayed away from the new look C5 show, and judging by what i see/read in this forum i'm so glad i have. I'd much rather look back with fond memories of the C4 show, then have it tarnished with this rubbish....
