Putting CSI on at 9pm and Big Brother which they paid millions for on at 10pm?
BB would surely get more viewers on a weeknight in the 9pm slot.
Even i as an avid fan am struggling to stay up till 11 as i have to be up at 6am for work.
If they are targeting a younger audience for this years show (which it seems they are) they need to work it around thier time and take into account viewers work, go to school and basically cant be arsed to stay up till 11 on a weeknight.
That is all.

Much better having it on at 10, 9 is too early. There is usually more competition at 9 aswell
I agree, its so long to wait until 10 everynight :( and then with bbbots aswell it just drags on to long..

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the nudity and violence watershed 10pm and the language watershed at 8pm.
Here's hoping for a naked fighting task

Yes fancy putting BB on at 10 instead of 9pm. Bloody idiots eh?
Given that for most nights of the week the other major channels run their big offerings for the night at 9. So if its a film a lot of people try to watch the start and may change for a different channel at 10 if they arent deeply into the movie itself by then.
Documentaries etc tend to fit the hour long slot so again a change at 10.

I do want it on at 9pm, I am just too tired staying upto 11 now I am back at college. If it finished at 10 I would go to bed (around) then.

The ratings show that its not working in such a late slot.

I wish it was a set time each night, people get into a routine then. There seems a lot of experimenting being done with BB on Channel 5.
I think they've done well with it but this a guinea pig run I am starting to think, then all the faults and other needs for the programmes success will come with next years series when all is learned as the way to build it up after these series, both CBB and BB.

Maybe the ratings have nothing to do with the time slot and alot more to do with editing style, I know thats why my sister has stopped watching.

Doesn't the % share show its not just the timeslot thats the problem?

I think you have a point there, i feel if people really wanted to watch it, they would, no matter what time it's on, i think the editing is got a lot to do with.

Also because it is starting at 10 it means it's clashing with Shameless :(

I stay up to watch Big Brother on Weekdays, i used to go to bed at 10. It was great when Channel 4 showed it at 9.

The watershed is 9pm
That's correct. However Ofcom have the most ridiculous broadcasting code that only moronic iodiots like Ofcom could come up with.
Nudity and bad language is allowed after 9pm but Ofcom starts to struggle with its own code if the bad language is too prolific or severe even after 9pm.
The broadcasters know what vague and idiotic broadcasting code has been developed by the imbeciles at ofcom so its safer for them to avoid Ofcom reacting to moaning minnies of the public by airing adult stuff after 10pm where stronger language is likely to be more accepted by the Ofcom freaks.....
I have to admit, the last 3 or 4 episodes i have watched about 10 mins and turned off, i cant physically stay up till 11 and be up for work at 5am everyday, why they dont put their most expensive show on at a time where they will keep the hardcore fans is completely beyond me
Theyre idiots for taking the show on in the first place but saying 10pm is a problem is just daft. it was on at 10pm until BB7
CSI is their flagship show and no matter how much BB cost they don't want to wreck it in favour of a show thats bombing quite spectacularly

Seems incomprehensible that their targetted audience are the teenies and the prepubescent young adults who usually have to go to bed when their parents demand.
Are Channel 5 Idiots? - Rhetorical question.

You mean to say that there are people out there who still watch TV in real time? How quaint.
The timeslot has hardly anything to do with the bad ratings imo, in fact most of the peaks have come about 5 mins before the end! I think it's got more to do with the big changes like the editing. The few people I know that actually watch the show have been turned off by the Americanised production, feel a bit patronized.

Erm... They won't pay for Live Feed, what makes you think that they'd splash out on TWO MORE channels?:elephant:

There is a 5*+1 & 5US+1.
So they'd only have to pay for ONE more? Highly unlikely actually!

5*+1 and 5USA+1 are only on Sky and Virgin.
I prefer it at 10 as there is too much competition at 9 on most nights.

So they CAN afford the extra transponder fees on the Sky satellite!
