Orginal vs Casual BB

Would you prefer a more original raw BB with all the early concepts like no contact, livefeed & basic editing OR are you enjoying the more up to date "Fun" casual BB that's more of an entertainment show?

Original by far, we used to get to make our minds up using all the info, now the only info we have is what we are spoon fed.

I'm happy with how it is today.

It's never going to achieve what the original show achieved because the housemates back then didn't have a clue if anyone was watching. The concept was new for us (the viewers) and that can never be reproduced.

I enjoy the whole panto feel of Big Brother that it is now.

Live feed will never come back now, unless their's a serious increase in average viewing figures. I reckon if BB can double its viewing figures to around 6 million per night then we have a chance of getting it back. I seriously do not think that will happen though.

They get parties every other night and the task are so damn easy, bring back old style BB any day... also bring back the cage (prison)!! Not having the live feed the the most disappointing thing and I feel this is why the rating are suffering so badly.

ORIGINAL no question. Its what made BB original and a breakthrough to begin with. A conceptless mess that basically lies to the public is not right.

Why not though? They could always go & find people themselves instead of relying on the same hopeless wannabes that come to them year after year. The original concept would still be quite new unused especially to the audience they seem to want to attract.

Exactly. If they found random people (from the phonebook like BB1) and gave them an excuse to be in there (like paying them a small amount) then it would make for a series very similar to the original concept of a social experiment.

I like that we get more updates now but I preferred the whole basic concept to this... I preferred Big Brother having a cold and unemotional voice and no sense of humour. All of these accented women asking 'funny' questions really pisses me off tbh, it's not Big Brother...

I suppose that is a possibility but will the public believe these are random people rather than those who audition?

Where I was coming from with the original was how the housemates didn't know if anyone was watching the show. They had no idea of the popularity. Anyone going in there now and in the future will have that knowledge the original housemates lacked.

Also from my viewing angle I was new to the house as were the housemates. I watched with mixed feelings of wonderment and excitement, not knowing how it was all going to end.

I don't recall ever feeling the original housemates were playing for the cameras and the typical sob story that happens so often now on reality shows.
