Hi, I am a newbie (with poor grammar and spelling!)
I know he's popular here, and don't want to offend but surely Tom is just a caricature of a gay/ bi male. I don't inherently have a problem with screaming queenie gay/ bi men, but why didn't BB put in a non-camp non-effeminate gay (or bi) male housemate?

Tom isn't popular here...
They put in such stereotypes as they are usually the sort that will rub people up the wrong way & be bitchy/cause arguments...

I like Tom, but there are many normal gay / bi guys out there, some are more macho than some heterosexuals.
BB goes for more extreme characters though, so I sadly doubt we'll ever see a fair representation of homosexuality.

I think he said in his VT that he was coming out on the show. If thats the case I dont think BB thought he would go from a gay or bi man hiding his feelings to a full blown camped out crazy man in the span of a few hours. That being said hes definately a caricature for the lifestyle almost on par with Marco from 5.

He came out 2 weeks ago, but it wasn't even shown - I think that's something that's a little more important or worth seeing than a ******ing conversation about Willy Wonka or something.

Why on earth did Tom even need to come out!?? Are all his friends & relatives blind & deaf?

Yes Tom is not typical
he seems withdrawn.

Slightly off topic but did he ever go to his grandads funeral?

BB always goes for the same types of gay men.
At least the lesbians have been a bit more diverse Anna BB1 (feminine and likeable), Lisa (BB10 butch and not very bright), Shabby (BB11 tomboyish, bright and articulate if self-important), Adele (BB3 devious, playing down gayness and willing to do a show-mance with a MAN!)
I can't stand Jay, but if he'd been gay (talked about sexing men etc) I actually would not have hated him as much. Well I would, but at least I'd see a bit of variety and multi-dimensions. Tom just feels like going over old grown with Marco (BB5), Mario BB11, Dan (BB5), Brian D (you know who!) etc.
