People deal with situations differently. I would think it would be a better thing to try and put your mind off it, rather than sitting worrying about it. Doesnt mean they dont care...or maybe they dont, its their stepdad, maybe they arent even close :/

its probably the best thing for them, having the distraction! Toms granddad passed away and he is still in the house and its probably the best place for him also
