View Full Version : Jay Jay fans - what is that you like about him?

I don't think there's ever been a housemate in the history of BB that didn't have at least one redeeming quality in my eyes, until I've seen Jay this year. Usually even if I despise a housemate, I can see why others like him/her (OK, well, I guess Darnell was an exception :joker:).
But the point is, I honestly cannot see why anyone would like or support Jay...I'm trying to get it, but I can't. Jay fans, help me out here.

the bits I like about Jay
he's fun, he doesn't require 24 hour emotional maintenance, he'd hold his own on the dancefloor, he's genuine and tries his best to get on with everyone
the bits I don't like
the grossness

1. He's fun.
2. He's sociable.
3. He's able to deal with certain situations (conflicts) better than some of the housemates.
4. He doesn't take himself seriously.
5. He is unpretentious. I'm usually unable to like people who are stuck up themselves. *glares*
6. He doesn't seem to care about the outside world and that's always a good quality in housemates
7. He pretty much represents the anti-Aaron vote.

Yeah I agree with Chuck, he's laid back, funny and doesn't take himself seriously. He's down to earth and is honest about his intelligence - or lack off - and seems like he'll be up for a laugh and just get on with anyone. I think that if people didn't watch the HL shows with such a preconceived notion of him just being a disgusting pig they'd warm to him because he is quite likeable and often has funny moments on there, like when he had to be dressed as a Hot Dog for the day and with the Toy Factory task where he wrote those little songs and stuff

:joker: He only appears mainly laid back because he has been shown that way, Mark mentioned loads of arguments, every time they had alcohol and really bad ones too, we haven't seen many at all of them but I would hazard a guess that :joker: 'laid back Jay' :joker: would have been at the centre of most of them.

It was just my opinion of him, the OP asked why Jay fans liked him and I said why I personally did, if Jay had been at the centre of loads of arguments I don't think he'd be as popular in there as he obviously is, or was until this week

Nope- he was pretty hacked off the previous week when he was standing at the hob - ranting like a lunatic because Mark and Aaron had gone outside to talk: Jay ranting that Aaron was wanting attention - when in fact, Aaron and Mark's convo was about Mark wanting to leave, and Aaron trying to tell him the reasons that he should stay. Typical Jay - standing there ranting about something he knew nothing about.
Probably jealous coz Mark didn't want to confide in him, and wanted to discuss with Aaron alone.

Aaron hasn't done those things, nor his he likely to either. If he did, I'd be as disgusted as much as I am with Jay's vile behaviour.
But isn't it better to discuss what the housemates are actually doing - rather than discussing 'what they are highly unlikely to do' - and in this particular case Jay - as the thread is more designed around why people like Jay - as opposed to what their thoughts are on Aaron.

Harry didn't waste money - he spent the money on foodstuffs.
Harry most certainly did not waste food - Jay however, did.
Harry ensured he ordered everyone's personal requests: therefore he wasn't selfish. he would have been selfish if he'd ordered only his own, and didn't order everyone elses. So nope, he wasn't selfish at all.

Yes he did because he spent the money inappropriately on food that could never all have been eaten before it went to waste

Spending money on food that is deemed inappropriate (what is inappropriate about it? What he ordered was edible) - still is not a waste of food as you claimed he Harry had done.
Work on the premise 500 bananas for 10 housemates to last 7 days. That works out on average to 7 bananas per day per housemate.
Easy enough - one in with the breakfast. a few to make milk shakes. A few for bananas sandwiches/ bananas on toast, and one for nibbling at supper time. Perfectly feasible to get through 500 bananas, using the milk, and cereal that he also ordered.

It was never going to all get eaten and banana's don't keep long so some of it would inevitably have gone to waste, but this is getting off-topic, I didn't want a who's more selfish debate, I was just giving my opinion on why I liked Jay

Bananas keep well in the cool - there were as many green ones - still to ripen as there were ripe ones.
As I gave an example below: getting through the foodstuffs that Harry ordered, is easily achievable. Easily.

Come on realistically they're not going to all eat 7 banana's a day each, if they'd even keep that long anyway. The ketchup wouldn't all be used either
But as I said, this has got off-topic

Realistically - I've given a perfect example of how and why it's entirely feasible.
And going by what I detailed below: it shows that Jay really had no reason to go off his head about it - we've seen him eating plenty of them - as well as tucking into meals that the hms won via tasks.
So again: Jay lost the plot when there was no need - he still got his grub from tasks won and food provided by BB - and not via the shopping list.
Much ado about nothing - but throwing strops about not a lot, seems to be a bit of a thing with Jay.
