View Full Version : I don't get the fascination with Aaron

He seems like a popular housemate when looking through the polls and such and I just don't get it at all. I find him the least likeable with his arrogance. He's apparently the most mature yet acts like a child when things don't go his way.
As far as i'm concerned he's just a little weasel.

I think he is lovely when he is in good humor, and making jokes or oneliners.
His wife says he is a very good father, and he said that he was a full time carer for his wife when she was in a wheelchair for a year.
All of these things are commendable in my eyes, and make him come across as a nice guy.
However ,I like you, don't really get all the hype about him at all. He is a nice and lovely guy at times, but a lot of the time I find him far too sulky, moody, and miserable to ever actually warm to him fully. I actually find him very irritating when he goes into these sulks.
Overall I think he is nice enough, but I do think he is a bit over hyped.

I think he is a fantastic HM. He is witty, charismatic, has a wonderfully underplayed sense of humour, is in touch with his feminine side, not afraid to show his emotions. Oh, and did I mention he is rather tasty as well? No wonder he's been such a success with the ladies!

You're not alone, there are quite a few of us who are mystified by his popularity with the Internet folk too.
He's obnoxious. Arrogant. Behaves like a spoilt brat. He's selfish. He's quite happy to destroy any opportunity for the HMs to have a decent shopping budget by sabotaging tasks. For example, when he was breaking toys that had been made by the other HMs in the toy making task. Purely because he doesn't want to be in the BB house anymore, but then sulks if anyone gets their own back on him. He rammed his tongue down Maisy's throat, despite previously claiming he had feelings for Faye. He's made some pretty lousy remarks about his wife and son in there, but then will use them for the sympathy vote when it suits him..
I could go on and on about him. He's a loathsome creep. Him and Anton are two of the most loathsome HMs in the BB house this year.

I think for some reason i can only guess at there is a hype that surrounds Aaron which is blown out of all proportion to who he really is as a Hm. He is Mardy, i'd agree with Fruit_cake and say he has been controlling, although i havent seen him telling Aden to quit smoking yet, and i suspect he is playing one of the best games i have ever seen in BB History. Typically game players don't do well in BB but Aaron is walking it in comparison. He does have likable qualities though, the trouble with a player is how to distinguish the player from the Man.

Agree with this. Harry just explodes when somebody annoys him, I think he actually has the worst temper in there, but he gets it out of his system then explains why he got so angry to the people involved. There's none of this sulking, moody thing. He just gets on with the game. One of my favourites in there.

Actually that is something I'm interested about that we never really got to see.
I don't think Anton thinking Harry is a mate, just came out of no where.
During his arguments, Harry seemed most annoyed with Anton. He kept saying to him, "you were the closest person to me in the house", "supposed to be my friend" etc.
So it was not just Anton saying they were close, even Harry said it too. Anton said they both stayed up late every night chatting, and were very close, even closer than Harry and Aaron are.
I think that at one stage not so long ago, that this was probably actually true. Anton was hugely shocked by the thought of Harry nominating him, and I think Harry is just getting him back over the food colouring incident.
Before that happened, I'm willing to believe that Harry and Anton were quite close friends. Harry even said it himself afterall.

It would of been dumb to pick "all" his friends, as it would sabotage all their chances of winning as he didn't pick the best people statistically meaning none of his friends get the treat :conf:
If he had picked Harry,Mark,Tom,Alex & Faye at the time he probably would of lost.

I guess the same question could be asked as to all the housemates, they each develop their own supporters/followers, some in the case of Aaron gain more than others but all get some people who like and dislike them for whatever reasons.
I would question that I don't get why Anton or Jay are liked but they have their followers too so it's down to just who is liked most or the least.
Me,I like Aaron because he is likely the person I think that I could easily get on with in the house, there are others too but he is the one I would feel I could be supportive to in the house and talk to and be very happy socialising with in there.
There's others I couldn't bear to even see or hear them, let alone mix with them.

I think that they must have been too. It's a pity they didn't show us all their late night chats.
I also noticed in the clip where Anton wakes up in the morning, then comes out shakes Harry hand and says "you've nominated me, I've worked it out", he looks very disappointed and kinda upset about it, and Harry just keeps denying that he nominated him. They then start talking about how they need to start "playing the game" or something like that.
I don't think BB should have edited out their close friendship if it did exist.

some really astute observations there. Anton told Harry how he was the 'ugliest' member of the house too, maybe Harry holds grudges.

It had nothing to do with picking who was your friend it was a game with two teams and Aaron and Harry happened to be on opposite teams to each other.. and how would Aaron picking Harry to go against him in a task keep them closer together?
I don't really know the ins and outs of top trumps but I know that Arron picked Harry 3rd because the conversation has been brought up before and someone checked in the archives

Oh I haven't seen that clip yet. It's odd really last year we did have LF and I never saw it or cared much about having it yet this year I really wish we had it; just feels like we're missing so much and getting such a blinkered view, this is one series where I would actually watch quite a lot of the feed as well

He's got 500 votes as well for the who they want to survive on Friday... nobody else is close, he's a machine at the minute.
I get why he is popular, he's good looking and actually likeable which counts for something, if John James was actually likeable and not a complete twat, he'd have easily made the final last year.

I think you have recalled his words better than me, however the point still exists, how can he determine that by Day 1 unless he is judging people on there appearance, and first impressions. To think you have such a gift is Ignorant, and suggests to me he is intolorant of others also.

The wheelchair joke was puzzling to me as it was not offensive to a wheelcahir user or was it? i don't think it was it simply made reference to a wheelchair. At best him crying over it was extreme over sensitivity and at worst a calculated way of gaining sympathy.

And yes, i suppose you can only judge things from your own perspective and yes Peeing on someone is a shocking thing to here, but it's not offensive to you personally, i mean it was not a request was it  and as you could see Aaron recoiled dramatically after she said that. This leads me onto a suspision of mine is he one of the best game players ever. He does not tell us he is playing a game like Anton who seems to think the public like a player, do they Anton? Does he hide the fact that he is playing a game by being incredibly good at it.
Aaron tells Rebeckah he really likes her Day 1 in the garden, then turns around as she walks away mutters under his breath god i really dislike you.
He Cries over his cupcake icing, claiming he wanted that for his Son.
He Cries over the Wheelchair reference.
I wonder if it is all for sympathy. as i say it's no more than a suspision. One that will likely grow if the rumors are true they have nerfed the latest shopping list task for a silly reason.

Yeah I thought he was great at the start but has become a bit too sulky for my liking, don't like his relationship with Faye either
Well he saw last years winners and he knows he will only make money if he has a woman on his arm.
He did start off saying he liked Louise.
He only puts up with Faye because she is prepared to belittle herself by going to him whenever he is in the sulk.
His CV says it all and I dont think many people have read it.

Him and Anton are two of the most loathsome HMs in the BB house this year.
couldn't agree more -he is a most unpleasant chap:xyxwave:
