This is just crazy. I have seen numerous posts calling for hms to be removed. Come on now grow a set... I am yet to see behavior that warrants removal from the house. Some people obviously live very sheltered lives on here.
And i am not talking about any 1 housemate in particular.

I agree, these racist/bullying accusations are thrown around willy nilly when it comes to BB

It's just typical really, I'm used to it but I agree, it's very annoying.

I just think it's a cheap dig to cause a little stir on the forums. I don't think some people realise how serious bullying and racism comment can be.

Well I am a black female with a mild disability and I do think that there is a hierarchy where white, able-bodied, heterosexual men think they sit on top ala Jay. Anyone who deviates from this is often seen as inferior and ripe for mockery (gay people, women, black/ British Asians, people with disability). Jay likes casual racist jokes because the jokes about black men who deviate from 'white man' ideal. And if you dare to challenge this white able bodied heterosexual men often say 'oh, you can't take a joke, it's just banter' etc.

Alex do you think Jay's "White Chicks" gag was racist or offensive to the Disabled?

The intent was to make a racial stereotype rather than physical so I wasn't actually in agreement with Aaron on the disability from. I find the sort of people who brush Jay's comments under the carpet more offensive.

Well, I think the problem there is the type of HMs they send in really. There's always alot more white HMs then black HMs. Plus, they don't often send in likeable black HMs (saying that the majority of white HMs aren't overly likeable either) People shouldn't be looking at BB for a fair representation of Irish people, Black people, Geordies, etc. cos a BB HM is chosen because they're not the norm usually!

I took no offense at it myself, yes it was a racial stereotype but as it was a positive stereotype the intention was not to be offensive. Racial prejudice is after all about intention.

And what stereotypes are there of white people? What is the stereotype of a straight white man? Exactly.
It's irrelevant whether it's a positive stereotype. Another so called positive racial stereotype is that black people are good at sport. I am not. This whole blacks can only do sport/ music is lazy, offensive as it reduces the cerebral qualities of black people eg I have a 1st from the best Uni in GB, so I intensely dislike being pigeon-holed as being sporty. I prefer rock music and hate R n B/ rap, but I am still black.
Jay should be thrown out for repeatedly making threats, urinating on Mark and coffee, pooing in freezer and racist jokes
Emily (BB8)got ejected - she made a racist though there was no malice - less offensive than Jay
Alexander (BB9) was evicted for making threats and gun gestures
Dennis (BB9) spat at Mo.
Kenneth Tong (BB10) was basically forced to jump the wall before he was ejected after he made threats.

Yeah people are just picking up on throwaway comments and blowing them out of proportion, I honestly haven't seen any behaviour in there that would warrant any of them being kicked out. I also don't know why people would want a HM kicked out, it's pretty much always bad for the show when it happens

Well i can relate to the pressure a stereotype can put on someone if you can't or simply don't want to live up to it. I have found there is as many that come from the Black community as the White community. It's a human thing nevertheless if you want to succeed in a White World it is White stereotypes of Black people that have to be overcome. I don't know when you grew up but i grew up in the 80s 90's and in a White neighberhood Racist comments we're an every day trial. But it has changed so much. Still work to be done but the direction of travel is true. and a bit of pain never hurt anyone.
I stand by my belief that Jay's joke was not racist i focus on the intent and just like Emily i focused on the intent.
Emily was not imo Racist she made the assumption that she could use that song and word because she felt comfortable with the two Black girls she was with. She was stupid to think that. Was her intent to cause offense No. Should she of been removed is a different matter as she was on tv there are different factors to consider, likewise Jay. Jay's joke was no where near as controversial as Emily's and so i'd let him stay on that point.

I don't know whether the majority of the population believes that black people are just good at sport and music. Either ways, every person on the planet has been subject to people making snap judgements on what u may or may not be like because of your appearance, that's just a thing humans do. Whether you as a kid at school wore glasses and got called a geek, or chubby and called lazy etc..
As far as the black men having big *****. That's a just genetic fact, and most people (particularly women), seem to see it as a positive!
I'd just be worried of political correctness going so far that we can't EVER have a joke about our differences. Because when we lose humour and the ability to take the piss out of ourselves and each other, i feel it makes for a rather dull and sterile society.

Yes, this I agree with, the word Emily used was a very racist word where as Jays joke was a silly stereotype (supposed to be taken with a pinch of salt)
I do agree that racism should be judged by intent, some people may use a racist term through pure ignorance and just may not be aware that it is racist, that doesn't make them racist imo.

It's because all the things people are talking about aren't shown on the HL show so the majority of the public won't understand or find any warrant in these complaints or calls for removal.
Personally, I don't know where I stand but I clearly don't speak for everyone.

People cant make jokes anymore, I am from the US and sensitivity towards races, sex, creeds, religion, weight and physical attributes are at an all time high. People shouldn't take things so seriously. It's ok to laugh at each other once in a while, the things that make us different are hilarious, stereotypes exist because they are true most of the time and funny! We should embrace our differences and celebrate them and not take it so darn serious all the time!

..i cannot understand why the hell you are even debating this crap. when you enter the Big Brother house you are supposed to be entering as yourself, being totally honest and not watching your p's and q's. If the producers decided to put you in there that is how it is. What do you want them to do..carry out a character reference?? and if you choose to watch the show you watch what is ever on it, not bleet about something that you dont like personnally! If we all did that there would be no show to watch. Yes i totally agree that racist jokes, jokes at the expence of disabled people or any other person from any walk of life is wrong...but that unfortunately is how we live. and im sure on the applicatin form for BB it does not include...DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF POLITICALLY CORRENT AND CAN WE COUNT ON YOU NOT TO MENTION THE B WORD OR THE D WORD OR ANY OTHER OFFENSIVE WORD ?? i dont think so....i personally dont feel there is any need for the constant bad language but there you go...and now im shattered and need a cup of tea !
