I know Brian is seen as a BB legend but I don't really liking him hosting the show. There is no sense of excitement at the interviews and his autocue style is really stilted.

Brian is doing a fantastic job imo, it's his first series and he's getting better and better as time goes on. I'm pretty sure if you went back to BB1 you'd notice a difference in Davina too

I actually think his interviews are far better than Davina's in the last 2 to 3 series, I also like Brian and think he has worked.
He'll be far better next year though when he can add more of his own stamp on BB, I think anyway.
Yes it's worked...Brian baby is now the face of BB Channel 5

He's not on long enough for me to form much of an opinion.

I don't like his voice when he is shouting out the links in the main show, but I do like his housemate interviews.

Hes a gay man
But why do gay men have to be camp? Its as if most gay men have the same camp personality. Im my first thread here, I think i said why put a camp bi/ gay guy like Tom. I would have been a fraction more tolerant to Jay if he'd been gay.

I'm really liking Brian especially when he interviewing the HM's
Needs to tone down the campness
I don't think he could..anymore than say...Alan Carr..camp is what he is
I laughed when he was a H.M and said his mum didn't know he was gay.....how could she not have guessed......LOL

Hes a gay man
As a gay person myself, I'm a bit dissapointed at that comment... not every gay man is camp... just like many straight people can be camp...
I know I'm far from camp, Brian does need to tone down just a little bit, his flirting with Jemma's boyfriend was cringeworthy.

Oh I know he is joking, personally I love his campness, like Niamh said, it's about right, if he was Louis Spence i-fied I'd be annoyed, he's a joke... but I just thought he was a bit cringe... at times, he'll improve though.

Lesbians seems to have less stereotypes than gay men eg no one really thinks all lesbians are butch any more etc. But gay men seem to be portrayed in same way, that's why it was cool when that cricketer Stephen Davies came out last year.

I quite like the campness, he's doing a good job so far and will get better if Channel Five give him a chance in my view.

I agree with this and with Niamh, he has just the right amount of campness, as does Alan Carr, I don't find it over the top..I think it compliments his presenting

He's okay. Not great but not horrendous.
He just doesn't bring enough energy and excitement to eviction nights, which was the one thing Davina was good at.

People are either naturally good presenters or they aren't. Brian isn't and it shows. He can't handle a show like BB. He's terrible. His 'speaking to the house' catchphrase is awful too and kills any suspense stone dead.
He's part of the reason I didn't watch the show to begin with. He was annoying, arrogant and smug when he was in the house and he's even worse now he's on the other side of the fence. He needs to go and get someone in who has a basic level of presenting ability and enthusiasm for the show. Emma should do the main show and Alice should do BOTS.
I just don't like what they've done with the evictions full stop. It just looks cheap and amateur. I can't stand the new outdoor set and they play the wrong music at the wrong times for example the tension music. Big changes needed for next years evictions because the so called event of the week is a catastrophic mess.
Last point, I miss Davina's MILFishness

I'm sure Brian is heart broken.
I agree his auto que skills need a bit of work but that will come with experience. His interviewing on the other hand is first class, already better than Davinas imo

He'll be heartbroken when Channel 5 axe it because of abysmal ratings and he's a big part of the reason. But credit where its due he is OK at the interviews but he can't keep enough interest throughout the live show for people to actually watch the interview. The whole thing is just flat and especially with a vote to save the evictions are already a bad enough non-event as it is.
I remember during presenter speculation Brian fans saying he had plenty of presenting experience, so after 10 years he should have mastered the autocue by now?

I seriously doubt that fans of Big brother would stop watching the evictions because of the presenter. Besides that Brian is very popular with BB fans, he's won the thing twice.
Well, Davina had presenting experience before she started as well and it still took her a while to settle into the new role

I didn't say he is the sole reason, theres a few and he's a big one of them because it all looks so unprofessional.
Davina had presenting experience but shes a naturally good presenter so whilst she did take a while to fit into the role, she was still competent and didn't look like a rabbit caught in headlines. Channel 5 should never have relaunched BB with an amateur presenter who needs time to fit into the role because they've only got one chance for a first impression, more so with a brand like BB that was failing anyway. And after 10 years Brian has shown no promise as a presenter. He's always been crap and as a result of that he's presented next to no programmes that have registered on the publics radar.
I remember during presenter speculation Brian fans saying he had plenty of presenting experience, so after 10 years he should have mastered the autocue by now?
My thoughts entirely. I find him slightly wooden - at times you can tell he's reading an autocue.
I also can't believe that he kept pronouncing 'Aden' with an R - a professional presenter would know how to pronounce contestants' names correctly. Emma, Alice, Jamie, Marcus had no problem with it.

wooden.
and interactions with family and friends of housemates etc is at times cringey (because of the woodeness).

Think he's an awful presenter and I hope they give Emma the main show hosting gig next year. His ad libbing is awful and I don't even know where to begin with his auto cue skills.

he's ten times better than davina at interviews.
and that's what counts.

total rubbish, hes not strong enough in the interviews and lets the crowd run away with the show. but then again, i cant stand the davina person with all her facial grimaces ...but after this years performance, dont think there will be another one. so Brian..make the most of it!

I wasnt sure I was going to like Brian over Davina, but he is head and tails better then her, just wish we saw more of him,why can't he replace the red head on bit on the side,....we need to see more of Brian,he is so funny.
What on earth is 'camp"?anyway Brian all the way for me..

I really cannot adjust to Brian. He makes so many mistakes and feels so wooden when presenting the eviction shows and interviewing the housemates. I loved him in BB but this role should not have been given to him.
