- Would it bother you?

I know they now have a kind of endearing friendship but is it actually a nice way to speak/treat someone just because you're not in the same 'class' ? Would you be fine spoken to the same? Laugh it off? Or kick off?

I find it a little offensive tbh and would say so. But he seems the type that would listen (at least breifly)

It's a friendly relationship and it's all said in jest so no, i wouldn't mind my friend having a laugh with me at all.

no not at all

thats how my closest friends and I act :D - its only when you truly feel comfortable with someone do you tease them like that, which goes to show what a great bond they have :D

Sometimes he can be a little bit sneery with his comments. You can see the look on Alex's face sometime, a little bit hurt and taken back by some of the things he says. Like when he said he wouldn't get with Alex if she was the last woman on earth. You could tell it hurt her feelings a bit :/

I think its in jest, like a brother to a sister. Really I think he is very good to her, and we get all the edited bits that show small moments in the house where his comments could be taken in the wrong context. He certainly does not have any malicious intent in what he is saying. I think implying that they should date makes him think of dating a sister, that's all.

With Harry its all tongue in cheek, and Alex is mature enough to know he is joking..

Harry really does think the world of Alex, they are like the 'odd couple'. Harry is a right old wind up merchant but the good thing is that Alex knows this. It's a lovely relationship which we don't see enough of.

I think deep down Alex fancies Harry a wee bit from what i could tell of last nights hi-lights but Harry has a girlfrind outside and does have to be careful how close he is with Alex. Like he said in the diary room, he thinks she is lovely and hasn't got a bad word to say about her.

I don't think Harry means anything bad by it...but she did turn the conversation back on him when she pointed out what a 'chavvy' thing it was to have the sound system cranked up, something she would never do......I think they learn from each other and that's what is so endearing

Exactly! She is more than capable of giving it back, and apparently SHE follows him around so she can't be that offended:rolleyes: Alex is nowhere as dumb as she tries to portray - she's played a blinding game all the way through:wink:

I like them both tbh Angus, as I do Aaron. I don't think Harry in any way means to 'talk down' to Alex, I think their relationship is very equal in a lot of ways..Harry 'educates' her on etiquette matters..she 'educates' him on not pre judging..I don't see any resentment from either one..they are both open to listening to each other.....so rare that we get housemates who 'listen'...except to the sound of their own gobs

I think they are really funny, it's humorous banter really, she seems to love it and goes on and on back at him and he just keeps going too.

He is not setting out to be mailicious and clearly she doesn't see it that way.she gives as good back and they always end laughing anyway. It's just fun and games.

Morning Joey :wavey:Yes, I agree with you, I always think that the friendships in the house are far more interesting than the romances....these are two people who's world would not normally collide...something to be learned from both of them...

Alex does fancy Harry, c'mon. She looked gutted when he said his mother wouldn't approve and that she'd be the last girl he'd go with. Plus when Tom was leeching over her, her eyes were glued to Harry.

I feel Alex and Harry have a brother/sister relationship in the house, which is really great to see I just wish BB would show more of this and less of the fauxmances/farting and fumbling as it's much more interesting and entertaining in my opinion.

They obviously don't teach them social skills in private schools these days.I wonder what he'll think when he comes out and finds Alex is a member of MENSA.

Harry & Alex are like best friends - Alex doesn't get offended at all, and its only fun & jokes.
(After Harry and Aaron and then After Alex and Tom)

Alex is fully in on the joke... he laughs with her, not at her.

He might not have started off in that place, but they have developed a really nice friendship.

I think sometimes he says stuff which does upset her without meaning to, but she also gets over it pretty quickly and doesn't dwell on it.

They are by far my favourite friendship this year and have been for weeks, glad BB are showing those two more.

The sad thing is that this obviously has been going on all this time but BB have chosen to not use it in favour of the two slimey fauxmances.

It's been the most lovely relationship in the house this year by a long shot.

There is a lot to be said of the adage: "If I'm not extracting the urine out of you, I don't like you" It describes, exactly, a friendship/partnership within which two people feel comfortable enough in to enjoy a mutual laugh: aimed at the other person, yourself, or both of you. I love these sorts of friendships and have attained them with my own close friends. So, no...I wouldn't be at all offended...as long as they didn't take offence when it was given back. :)

To be fair, I'm glad BB have saved it for us. It could have been done to death like Aaron and Faye. It's nice to have these two here in the show still and I would absolutely love the final two to be Harry and Alex.

I'd rather they not play on Alex and Harry's friendship. The **** they showed last night wasn't very good IMO (and by not very good I mean, Harry has a girlfriend and they are showing that stuff?) Imagine them showing that all series long. Harry might be single right now (don't really know what his gf is like).

I don't see any issue with it. They don't fancy each other, but I think Alex looks up to Harry as a big brother and he see's her as a little sister. His girlfriend shouldn't feel threatened by their friendship.

Don't think about what you've seen. Think about what BB could do with them if they wanted to make on that they were getting close as a couple. I'm sure they could edit it to look like that if they wanted to. Luckily, Faaron and Jayloo take up too much air time as is.

yeah, I did, I just think the point is ridiculous.

Showing their friendship is just that. Why would his his GF worry about that...

Actually, don't worry about answering. It is just discussing some hypothetical fntasy future scenerio you have just invented and I really cba :/

I'll let others worry about what BB might potentially maybe possibly show in the future... I will just focus on whats actually happening and how the two of them are actually being shown.

Oh come on, Alex does fancy Harry. Even Aaron has teased her about it. I think she let Water-gate slide (not shown on HL) because she fancies him. Tom's also very threatened by Harry.

I think she admires Harry and looks up to him. There's a difference between that and fancying.

Too bad I was referring to if that had been showing it all series long. And the fact if BB wanted to twist it (which they shouldn't) they could likely them it out to be more then just friendship.

If she wasn't doing her dumbing down act for the viewers (which despite liking her I think she definitely is doing) you'd likely have a different opinion. When she acts innocent it does look like she'd be too innocent to actually be attracted to him. IMO she likes him. He's good looking, clever, got loads of money and loves to tease her. If he was single they'd bang... and then he'd be too posh for her and ignore her.

That's because he's usually under the covers with Faye and she has to look down on him

There is absolutely no way Harry and Alex would get together. When he said not if she were the last woman on earth he meant it. He has his friends to think of.
Remember how a certain circle went on about Catherine Middleton's family. They called her mother 'Doors to Manuals' a disparaging remark about her work as an air hostess. This is despite the fact that the Midddleton family have more grace and manners than many of the people who think they are superior.

He's sort of embarrassing and taking on the posh boy brand too much. Seems a bit like a jerk, not to Alex but in the DR.
