France and Germany to hold emergency talks after Greek call for referendum

What a Utter Nutter
the Greek PM questions the Money
They should Delete them from the €uro.
Get it out of the way
it will give problems - but at least that Crazy Greek PM
can be out of the way.
I think it's a smart move by the Greek PM, if they're asking "should Greece keep the Euro" then it's likely to go in his favour and a sign of public support, however small, should be good for confidence. And if they do vote "no" then it's a bigger problem for the EU than it is for the Greeks, and they may be forced to soften the terms of the bail out deal to stop Greece defaulting

When Greece gets their freedom back, if they wants stability they should legalize commodity money like gold and silver. But they won't. They'll run their own fiat currency into the ground like every other government does. Commodity money is anathema for a statist government official because you can't create it out of thin air.

But that's the thing, Greece is more of a problem to Europe than the other way round. I was reading a thing in the Guardian saying how "if you owe the bank £100 you have a problem, if you owe the bank £100 million then the bank have a problem" and that's the case here

Berlusconi 'set to resign': Italian PM loses parliamentary majority despite surviving crunch vote
Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2058868/Silvio-Berlusconi-claims-alternative-faces-crunch-vote-economy.html#ixzz1d93JQVYt
So he is set to go soon.
Good , Criminal he is.
No more bunga bunga
Top 10 Berlusconi moments:
1. In 2003, Berlusconi asks US investors to relocate to Italy because Italian secretaries are better looking than US ones. "Another reason to invest in Italy is that we have beautiful secretaries... superb girls."
2. The same year he refers to German MEP Martin Schulz as a concentration camp guard.
"I know that in Italy there is a man producing a film on Nazi concentration camps - I shall put you forward for the role of Kapo (a guard chosen from among the prisoners) - you would be perfect."
3. Italy suffered its biggest earthquake in 30 years in 2009, leaving 17,000 people homeless. On a tour of the tent sites around the quake site, Berlusconi said the victims should see it as a camping trip: "Of course their current lodgings are a bit temporary but they should see it like a weekend of camping."
4. Berlusconi misses a Nato ceremony for fallen soldiers the same year because he was too busy talking on his mobile.
5. At the G20 photo shoot in London in 2009 he yells at US President Barack Obama, earning a rebuke from the Queen: "What is it? Why does he have to shout so loud?"
6. Still with Obama at the G20. Berlusconi tells the world his response to the global economic crisis differs from the president's because "I'm paler". "I’m paler because it's been so long since I went sunbathing. He's more handsome, younger and taller." The year before he calss Obama "handsome, young and also suntanned".
7. In 2006 he manages to offend China: "Read the black book of Communism and you will discover that in the China of Mao, they did not eat children, but had them boiled to fertilise the fields."
8. The year before it was the turn of the Fins. Berlusconi said he had to “dust off my playboy charms” to convince Finland’s female PM to set up the EU Food Safety Authority in Parma.
9. Just last week Berlusconi defied the world'as opinion of Italy’s economy . "Life in Italy is life in a prosperous country. We see that on every occasion, consumption has not gone down, the restaurants are full, you have trouble booking seats on aeroplanes, holiday areas are totally booked out on long weekends. I don’t think that if you went to live in Italy that Italy is feeling anything that could resemble a serious crisis."
10. A wiretap catches Berlusconi bragging about his male prowess. He says he was "doing only eight girls, because I couldn’t do more".

i always think it's funny when epople say that American's are "arrogant". compared to europeans, i don;t see how we can even be compared to the true definition of arrogance.
The most violent continent in the world. the only continent in the world to attempt true genocide. And europe still has the audacity to tell any other continent anything? Europe is by far the most violent, destructive and toxic continent in the world.
Shame on Europe, they have still learned nothing. It's all still just petty bickering.

Yes because the US doesnt attempt to impose its will on any other country does it? (Vietnam, Cuba, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Panama, the list goes on and on...). At least most europeans know where the US is.

Get off your high horse, no one in Europe gives a **** what you American's think, we may bicker, but we've all been through hell and high water together and we'll be ****ing damned if this little crisis is going to erase thousands of years of history. So yeah, I don't think we need any American's telling us what we already know. We've got a bloody history....so what? We aint denying it, though, it's really funny since most of America CAME from Europe (Spain, England, France), now who is denying their history?

A bit ignorant?!
I think lostalex excelled himself with this one. I sent a link to a friend in New York. There was much laughter... then an half-serious apology on behalf of Americans everywhere... then more laughter. Sums it up really.
And on topic... makes me a bit edgy when Germany starts muttering about a New Europe.

He had some hilarious moments though, I just find it amazing that someone like him who's not afraid of saying literally anything could have held onto the most powerful position in the country for such a long time, he brought a certain humour to the political world
