I think it's a smart move by the Greek PM, if they're asking "should Greece keep the Euro" then it's likely to go in his favour and a sign of public support, however small, should be good for confidence. And if they do vote "no" then it's a bigger problem for the EU than it is for the Greeks, and they may be forced to soften the terms of the bail out deal to stop Greece defaulting

When Greece gets their freedom back, if they wants stability they should legalize commodity money like gold and silver. But they won't. They'll run their own fiat currency into the ground like every other government does. Commodity money is anathema for a statist government official because you can't create it out of thin air.
