As a mum of 2 daughters in their 20's I have been trying to put myself in Faye and Jem's mum's place.

I personally would not have voted for Aaron, regardless of what I thought about him, I think she showed very poor judgement in her voting, knowing how messed up Faye has been feeling, knowing what Jem has been saying, she must have thought about how it would affect Faye??

You can't take sides when it comes to your kids, (there is clearly rivalry between the 2 sister's) she would have been better not even mentioning Aaron and going with safe votes or maybe not getting involved at all. I wonder if she regrets it??

Given how bitter she sounded talking to Vanessa the other night I doubt that she regrets it at all - though I thoroughly agree with if she had any feelings for Faye at all she would not have nominated Aaron.

I have son's so I can't comment from a mother/daughter pov but I can from a mother/child.........although I agree that I wouldn't have voted as Faye's mum and remained neutral between the two sisters...I am making allowances for the fact that she may have voted without any notice....it's easy to 'act now..and think later'.....I may be wrong, giving her the benefit of the doubt...maybe I just don't want to think that a mum could be so mean...

I agree 100% the only thing is she might know more about Aaron than we do but it's unlikely

Unless he'd done something really terrible like, call her a slapper everytime he went to the Diary room or to other HMs then no, I would never do that, because at the end of the day, it's only her opinion, he hasn't actually done anything other than get a bit moody, nothing that warrants public humiliation of your child like that. Of course she should tell her daughter what she thinks of him, but there's a time and a place and that certainly wasn't it. Also, she should have reserved judgement till she met him in person.

I agree with your post..and have posted on this thread myself although I'm trying to give her 'the benefit of doubt'.....I do wonder how constructive to the H.M's these threads about their families are though......I'm not entirely feeling comfortable that they're becoming 'fair game' too...

Yeah, but I guess when they chose to nominate like they did, they became topics of discussion, they were apart of the biggest nomination twist this series, and they agreed to that so they have to be spoken about imo.

..I think it was more...'this is what is happening...choose two people....' Yes they could have declined...but they don't know each other and could have been led to believe the others would all be doing it...there's lot's of things they could have done in hindsight...but hindsight is a wonderful thing....I accept the decisions on this forum and I know it's BB and Channel 5 who are responsible for taking the programme down this route...if I were a H.M, I'd be more upset at reading things about my family than I would myself..I'd know I'd signed up for my own criticism's...Faye's and Jem's mum is the only mum they've got and I'm sure they love her..this is obviously the route BB will be going down in the future...and maybe we just have to get used to that

mmm I do understand what you're saying but I don't think it would be right to tell FMs that they can't discuss those that nominated this week. Yeah, the family members may have been pressured into doing it but that's Big Brother I suppose, they plot and scheme and edit and manipulate.

I did note that Aarons parents didn't come on, I wonder if they were asked but declined?

Fair enough...I've said enough..too much.....Aaron is 30...maybe his parents are more 'elderly' and were quite happy for his brother to do it...I know the thought of doing something like that would send my mum to a very early grave.....

Mrs Palmer could have passed and asked a relative or friend to nominate...it didnt have to be a MUM....if Anton was still in there I doubt it would have been his Mum on the phone, probably the friend who kept popping up....u can decline to be in the public eye if you wish...nobody has a gun to your head just because your offspring choose to go on a reality show...Faye said something very telling to Aaron in last nights HL about her Mum being very attactive, blonde and petite....soooooo make of that what you will...:spin:

And I take your point, I'm sure Fayes mother loves her daughters and thought she was doing the right thing. Personally I don't think she did and maybe if she'd had more time to think about it, she would agree but she's going to stand by her choice now regardless I'd imagine!

Jemma is 28....Aaron is 30 ...just because they choose not to put themselves in the public eye doesnt mean they are ELDERLY...they could have had him when they were 18....its all about choice...Mrs Palmer choose to involve herself, so fair game in my opinion.

My Mum,(Dad too) ,if I was on BB would never have come on the line to nominate ,she hates all publicity and keeps well away from it, it would have had to be one of my Brothers who did it concerning me.

I suggested that as a possibility not a fact..I've already stated my views on the rest already...no need to expand further...

those words are coming from direct from mummy Palmer's lips via Faye's ears and out her mouth I reckon. I.e. Faye is just repeating what she's been told all her life.

Faye said she didn't like her dad on last night hl/s.. Another thing that's probably followed the same route out of Faye's mouth

Good afternoon Ammi, I don't know about being a voice of reason, though I try my best.

The funny thing is though, after they had nominated on bbbots, although it was the first time my Mum had watched bbbots, she rang me after it full of fury at Faye and Jemma's Mother,
Never known my Mum get so wound up over a TV series, she was so mad at her, I was in hysterics.:joker:

I know for a fact my mother would never demean me infront of anyone, or chose sides between me and my sister. Nor interfere with my relationship and tell me I couldnt make the right choices, on TV or not.

I would hate to have a mother like Ms. Palmer. Or a sister like Jem.
