I think Big Brother should make contestants sign some sort of contract that they cannot just walk out if they "get fed up of being filmed" (ie Tom) or "had enough of the experience and doesnt want to spoil things in the house" (Jem). Dont they realise thousands of people would love to be in their place. I think Jem left cos she know she would be voted out this week and didnt want the boos!

Great idea but I don't think you can force people to stay, lol.

They can't imprison anyone against their will.

HAHA...I'd like to see the Endemol/C5 lawyers get this one through! What's next? BB 13 Guantanamo Bay Edition? FFS :joker:

I think the producers don't mind if dullards walk eg Maysoon BB9.
Its against human rights and the producers would end up with a massive fine or in prison

People have valid reasons for walking
- bereavement
- unexpected tragedy
- financial
- feel unfairly treated by Hms or BB
- mental health impairment - Mark felt he could no longer cope being filmed 24/7
- legal reason
- immigration issues (ie Makosi didn't walk but had Visa problems)

No, but they could put a clause in the contract that stipulates that any walker must pay £5,000 to a nominated charity within one month of leaving, and that they will not be offered a chance to show their cowardly mugs on any spin off show, or be allowed to attend the wrap party or be allowed to sign any media deal emanating from their exposure on BB for at least 12 months.

Walkers should get no interview and no BBBOTS. I think it's ridiculous all the exposure Mark's getting. I think we'll be getting more and more walkers in the future unfortunately. It seems they have nothing to lose apart from not having to walk out to booing from the crowd.

Well in a way big brother is an experiment/observation to see how people react enclosed in a house and separated from 'the outside world'.
In which case, Big Brother would have to follow the Psychological Ethical Guidelines. One of the most important Ethical Guideline is that the participants should be able to withdraw at any time if they wish and they should be told of their right to withdraw.

I've gone right off Mark since he left the house, mainly due to his constant appearances on BOTS.
I don't think the two are the same though, he said he didn't want cameras on him 24/7 going on to say he wanted to use the loo in peace.

No, at the end of the day you dont know how youre gonna feel until you get in. You might hate it and it would be unethical to not let somebody withdraw.

I'm not sure if there will be more and more walkers as a result of Mark and Jem going. If this was going to be the case then the number of walkers would have vastly increased after Orlaith walked out of BB6 for flimsy reasons on a Saturday in time for the Sunday papers and the day after she had survived an eviction vote.

fair point i guess - probably isnt the same - nice to go to the loo in private (unless you are Jay and love an audienced and running commentry lol ) but i still think he worked it out that he would get a lot of air time if he quit when he did......

I think you're right there. If he had made it to the final the airtime is pretty limited, whereas going during the show he gets the BOTS handed on a plate.
Not so daft after all....
