View Full Version : Why the huge gap between announcements last night?

When announcing the second person safe, there was about a minute long pause between Brian saying Faye and Harry, then he said Jay quite quickly too.
Just wondered if anyone knew why this was :conf:
or has any theories :p

He claimed that the voices in his ear were to blame! I say it was because they didn't close the phone lines in time!
I was a bit confused when I heard it. Didn't help I was watching it on TVCatchup and it kept buffering and stuff
At first I thought he was quickly announcing Jay and Harry as safe and that Faye was evicted right then and there.

I like Brian but he is not the best at presenting the eviction show....C5 should try and bring the Queen Davina back.....:worship: and the ratings would rocket...:worship:
And find Brian another role....because we still love him..
Emma is brilliant brilliant brilliant on BOTS and has made that show her own.....:xyxwave:

It was defintely to do with what he was being told in his earpiece by the producers. Blame the producers rather than Brian.

I don't know who to blame or even why they did it, all I know is it was bloody annoying.

Oh I'm not blaming brian :)
Just seems a bit odd thats all. Especially if they started shouting in his ear at that moment...why would they? :/

It would not have happened If they had closed the phone lines 10 minutes earlier.:elephant::hugesmile:
Edit: the first error was giving him the wrong time for the phone lines closing, initially he said - in so many minutes, meaning 9.55 later correcting it to 9.50 (which was still stupidly late) then obviously they collated the figures wrongly making him look like a bumbling buffoon (rather aptly!)
Problem with his ear piece, he said it on BOTS. The producers should have cut the sound to the house

I'm not sure. With that crowd going mad it must be difficult to hear a word even with a close fitting earpiece though :joker:.

Oh right, thanks. :)
Also just need to say, not Brian's biggest fan but its unfair for people to blame him. Davina had a similar problem a few years back, I think it was during BB7. Her microphone went down so she couldn't reveal the result and there was a long pause there too

He indicated as to the eviction places that following the most votes called, the remaining housemates had very few votes between them.

Oh right. I missed like the first 5/10 mins of BBBOTS too. I'm guessing he explained then. Cheers :)

You bring up a good point Vicky. I hate these drum roll moments on any reality show. X-factor, celebrity get me outa here, BB etc. I'd hate to be a contestant on a show where I have to wait (I guess it must seem like ages) for a decision. It is one thing that really annoys me.

Emma is awful and I stopped watching BBBOTS because I felt like throwing something at my TV whenever she was on. All she does is squeal, squee over the couples, and mention that shes pregnant. As if we cant see that...
