View Full Version : Why did Tom/Lou have to take it too far?

Vicky.
02-11-2011, 11:03 PM
That task was bloody hilarious (Alex and Aarons part especially) and the start of Louise and Toms was quite good too. But then it got ruined with the 'not old enough to get married' insinuation...and just went downhill from there. left a very bad taste in my mouth tbh :bored:

Theirs was designed to be nasty by the looks of it...whilst the other 2 pairs were trying to have a bit of lighthearted fun.

If Aaron was laughing, would it still have been too far? I found it funny, no better or worse than the others. Aaron just cant take a bit of banter

I think its always too far to 'joke' about people being paedophiles (which they did do btw...as you can get married at 16) but each to their own.

Tom wanted to get a dig in at Aaron because he's too much of a wimp to confront him one on one.

A 30 year old man who has been linked to two 19 year olds will always get comparisons like that. Most will just laugh it off especially in that kind of situation

I don't think it was what was being said that Aaron didn't like, it was who it was from, Tom, who performed with a tint of snide. He's been on Aaron's case now for days.

Tom did it to hurt Aaron and it worked. There is a lot being said about Aaron's moods in the house. If he is unhappy for any reason there is nothing wrong with him stepping away from the rest of them as he is not hurting them. Some of the house mates are acting like Aaron has not got the right to be moody and withdraw. I can tell you now when I was a student and had house mates I would have loved it if they were moody and withdrew to their rooms. It would have meant I had less to do with them. Aaron does it in The Big Brother house and he is some sort of demon.

To be honest...though I dislike Tom immensely !..I also lay the blame of this escalating vitriol being spouted by 'the self-centered snake' at Aarons doorstep....The reason being that Aaron realised just what a nasty little bumhole Tom was weeks ago, (during Toms "he's been leading me on" campaign) and said that he did'nt like or want anything else to do with him.
But then went on to let him off the hook, when at that time Aaron was pretty popular in the house and could have isolated him and caused him to be nominated for eviction...and he would most certainly have gone!:xyxwave:

A mistake in judgement from the master tactition there imo. :spin:

When an older person kiss or date someone that's younger. You always hear the saying "robbing the cradle". Is it meant to be taken literally? Of course not. We heard it all the time when Demi Moore first started going out with Ashton Kutcher. When she was 40 and he was 25. Its a joke and its meant to be taken as such. Stop being so sensitive.

the truth hurts < they have destroyed this series and i am bored stiff of all of them boringggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

I am so mad at people doing nasty things and others saying it is funny, when it is NASTY.

IMO it is funny to some people, but goes to show some girls also think saying, "he raped me" the morning after too much to drink, instead of taking in stride that they made a judgment error in allowing themselves to be out of control, and they do not for a second think about the consequences for the guy on the other side of the equation.

So for a guy to be called or portrayed as a pedophile, I really do not see what could be funny, specially when he has a kid, all it takes is an over zealous child care agencies worker to make his life a living hell. And their is no stopping them when they get going, right or wrong they do not care, so HOW CAN IT BE A JOKE, people have to realize that what may seem unoffensive to a dishearten video game virtual killing fanatic, may actually cause real problems.

Society these days is all about being nasty and about saying things "as a joke" when in fact it really hurts people.

And as for Faye seeing this as being funny, and making Aaron feel like he is in the wrong and manipulating her, when she lies everyday to all of them by saying she is 19 and not 24-26 like she is, I find it questionable.

And Tom is just a little B***h, so go figure.

And the way Emma Willis is getting off by making Aaron look bad at every occasion is getting a bit sickening TBH

They didn't make Faye out to be bad or insinuate she was a paedophile though so it would have been easier for her to laugh it off. I really don't think most people would be happy about being called a paedophile, joking or not.

Tom tries way too hard to be bitchy. Some people are naturally bitchy people, but with Tom it seems like he's been thinking about that comment for the last half day waiting to say it. It seems like a routine with him.

They weren't exactly flattering to Faye though. Maisy is not a child anyone can see that. Paedophiles like children as far as I know, I think he's got his wires crossed a bit personally and it brings more focus on him than just shrugging it of would have done in my view. Having said that it must have been difficult for him, I thought what they did was intended to intimidate him in front of an audience. It wasn't fun for Aaron clearly.

Well, he asked Maisy what age she was and she said not old enough to get married (implying she was under 16) and then he said perfect! That's wrong, and not something the person at the brunt of that "joke" would ever find funny imo. Also, the fact that it was Tom doing it makes it twice as bad as Aaron has been saying how nasty he was being towards him the last few days.

Especially when Aaron is a dad. I'm not surprised he was offended. As for Faye, she has zero empathy and only perceives the world as it affects her.

I also found it quite amusing, as did Faye :D

Faye found some of it amusing, noticably the bits directed at Aaron (which was most of it) but then she has form in that area of laughing in his face in public. But when they made a few jokes about her, well her face dropped completely, she wasnt laughing then.

@OP
The so called humour wasnt light hearted and kind like the others your right. It was actually bordering on uncomfortable at points and went into character assassination territory. Tom is spiteful though, didnt expect anything less. BB Knew what they were doing giving Aarons part to Tom.

She really is passive/aggressive the way she turns every disagreement into her being attacked when it's often the other way round.

Oh god tell me about it, that would royally **** me off if she did that to me. Its a classic passive aggressive strategy. Cause they other person will, 9 times out of 10, then get really annoyed at being accused of being aggressive, thus proving her right. I wouldnt mind but most of the time he barely raises his voice. The two times she accused him of being 'frightening' (lol) was when he was perched camply on the arm of a couch and when he was laying bed under a duvet.

She really is an awful person as GF material. Probably a nice girl as a friend but not in a relationship, she has serious issues.

/snipping the first part due to considering it too ridiculous a comparison

...for a guy to be called or portrayed as a pedophile, I really do not see what could be funny,

He wasn't made out to be a 'paedophile'... HE was the only one to use that word.

The age used was 16, which does NOT mean he was being made out to be what you are getting all het up over.

Tom was just having a joke at an older guy chasing younger girls, like a 'dirty old man' mickey take. Nothing more.

By seizing hold of a word like 'paedophile' and getting all drama over it the joke has been twisted into fake outrage.

LOL yeah he does tend to over-exaggerate some things.

I dont see this as one of those things though, I think hes been thinking about the age difference thing quite a bit(especially as they all made such a big deal out of it at the time), and this is why that comment stood out so much to him.

I dont really think that Tom meant it in the way Aaron thought he did(or would hope he didnt), but I do think he was being unnecessarily bitchy, whilst others were treating the task as a tongue in cheek thing, Tom seemed to take delight in using it to be hurtful. I think the fact that it came from Tom(who Aaron has said for a few days obviously had something he wanted to say to him) made it come across a lot worse too.

Aaron and Alexs 'story' was bloody fantastic I thought. They managed to inject humour into it without being nasty or bitchy. Faye and Jays was ok, but you cant make a rap too funny really. Louise and Toms started out ok, and had some quite funny bits in, but that was overshadowed by the way parts were obviously thought up to be spiteful, rather than funny.

Just watched this now I'm back from Uni work. Thought the Aaron and Faye one by Tom and Louise was spitefully done and quite nasty in parts too.

Also BB really milked it too. It seemed to go on ages.

It's funny how the Aaron lovers on here found Tom really nasty tonight, who'd have thought it.

(see what i done there.)

Tonight?Tom has been nasty since Aaron told him the 'kiss' meant nothing, snidey little rat hasn't got over that rejection yet and now he is festering about Aaron nominating him,HOW VERY DARE HE,but Tom has nominated Aaron, yeah right some people are oh so very fair!

Tom has no obligation to like aaron, but he will say his piece in aarons presence,as opposed to bitching in the diary room.

Give me a sensitive man anyday to a bloke who has zero thought for anyone else

Being sensitive about oneself has absolutely nothing to do with compassion for others.

Tom is a very nasty, spiteful, horrid, bitchy little queen. He is still so bitter because he wants Aaron & can never have him...

He went too far & BB knew he would. He deliberately made Aaron feel as uncomfortable as he could & did it solely to pi** him off :nono:

It started funny then just got nasty.

Totally agree. IMO Tom took it too far, I honestly believe that Tom rotten with jealousy, cause he fancies Aaron & he's not interested in him, I also think its eating up Tom thinking that Aaron is popular with the public, cause he has topped the votes every time he has been up for eviction.

I don't remember this conversation tonight about Aaron saying the kiss meant nothing.:conf:

That task was bloody hilarious (Alex and Aarons part especially) and the start of Louise and Toms was quite good too. But then it got ruined with the 'not old enough to get married' insinuation...and just went downhill from there. left a very bad taste in my mouth tbh :bored:

Theirs was designed to be nasty by the looks of it...whilst the other 2 pairs were trying to have a bit of lighthearted fun.

You would have not even thought about the 'too young to marry' if Aaron had not said it made him look like a paedophile. He should have let it pass but no. He has to take the huff at everything. Jay had to put up with what he said.

Another with mind reading abilities.

It just so happens that some on another forum picked up on this before Aaron even mentioned it. So your theory falls a little flat there.

BTW, if he'd done a similar hatchet job on Jay, there would be cheering from Aaron fans coming out of this computer

But I think thats the point, Aaron has to much class to do petty spiteful 'jokes' directed at another housemate in a forum which they cant answer back to. Everything Aaron said was amusing and not at all unpleasant or seedy, pretty much every joke directed at Aaron from Tom involved the idea of him being a pervert basically... so yeah he had every right to cop the hump + Tom knows only to well that Aaron is highly strung and a little uptight and he knows precisely what buttons to push to get a reaction.

I dont really think that Tom meant it in the way Aaron thought he did

I dont think he meant he was a paedophile, but I DO think he was insinuating that Aaron was some form of closet pervert, liking underage or young girls, wearing womens underwear, the ridiculous OTT style way he made out he kissed Faye. It was just seedy and obviously meant to rile him up, the same way his comments at the table were to Faye about his mates being really hot and then asking (smirkingly) why Aaron was annoyed.

Jay had to put up with what he said.

And what exactly did Aaron say about Jay which was nasty or unpleasant. The only near the knuckle comment he made (about going down) he instantly apologised for (apparently it was Alexs idea) and besides Jay would be quite proud of that anyway.

All in all a really poor example from you imo

Tom was clearly out of order and had decided to retaliate over what Aaron had done to him earlier on in the day. However no amount of provocation justifies what Tom insinuated.

I doubt anyone would find being called a pedo funny tbh

And I doubt anyone(but Aaron) would have taken Tom's statements seriously...the truth of it is, sure it wasn't the nicest thing to say, but, to give it more power and implication than it deserved just made Aaron look like a crybaby...of course, this is all simply my opinion :)

Does anyone includin BB know the real age of the lovely Faye? I've read on here that her age is between 19 & 26.

It doesn't really matter but I'm just interested.

On the Tom/Lou saga although I found it funny, Tom hit well below the belt with his lyrics!

I sympathise with Aaron because I tend to take things people say differently to my mates, they would laff something off and I would let it fester until such time as I would blow my top and then unlike Aaron use expletives to the person in question, unless it was a female who had upset me, then she would get a toned down version lol.

Just seen Faye declare her love for Aaron, I hope he doesn't let her down, or he will have me to answer to lol.

Cheers

Zeb

A 30 year old man who has been linked to two 19 year olds will always get comparisons like that. Most will just laugh it off especially in that kind of situation

By whom exactly, Tom? Those amongst you who have little or no understanding that insinuating someone is doing something illicit is crossing the line, perhaps. The rest of us understand his reaction perfectly

I agree. Tom is just a vindictive little queen. He could only make such remarks from behind a mask. He's the type who gets gays a bad name!
