CELEBS have been told to be on their guard after a woman died from a killer snake bite.

The whole state of *Queensland and its bordering areas have been warned about the high numbers of deadly eastern brown snakes.

Experts said yesterday the *dangerous predators were *breeding in high numbers *following two wet seasons.

With the contestants of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! due to arrive in Oz in the coming days there are fears about the *influx.

Show medic Dr Bob always gives the stars a safety briefing before they go into the jungle.

But contestants – rumoured to include Corrie’s Antony Cotton, 36, Freddie Starr, 68, and *Jedward, 20 – will be told how mum-of-one Narelle Pails, 43, died after being bitten through her trousers while in her garden.

She went into cardiac arrest and died within minutes.

Brisbane snake catcher Geoff Jacobs said he was removing two or three dangerous snakes a day from urban homes and *buildings.

He said: “I’ve got a couple on the back seat right now.”

A ranger told the Daily Star Sunday: “If there are that many making it into built-up areas they will be overrun with them in the rainforest where the show is filmed.”

They in a really large contained studio type area, I'd be surprised if a gnat even bit one of the "celebrities".

They wouldn't send them out there if they really were in big danger of being bitten by deadly snakes.

I'm A Celebrity: Lembit Opik bitten by snake during immunity challenge in Australian Jungle

25th November 2010

A task in the Australian jungle went horribly wrong today when I'm A Celebrity contestant Lembit Opik was bitten by a snake.

The former MP was nipped on the finger while performing a challenge to avoid tonight's first elimination.

The reptile took a snap at the 45-year-old after he thrust his hand into its box looking for keys.

I’m A Celebrity hosts Ant and Dec were left shaken after coming face-to-face with one of the world’s most venomous snakes on set.

The comedy duo were recording show material behind the scenes when they stumbled across a deadly brown snake.

Ant, 35, explained: “It was a very scary start to the show for us.

“We were doing some voice overs earlier on, like we always do, and there was a little surprise in there...a brown snake in the voice over booth."

Confessing he was terrified, Dec, 36, said: “I went and did a little brown snake of my own."

"That's how scary it was,” Ant added.

Brown snakes, the most common snake in Australia, have venom 12 times more potent than an Indian cobra and cause more deaths from snakebites than any other species.

In 2008, an Australian tourist nearly died after he was bitten on the penis by a brown snake after stopping to take a roadside toilet stop.

The man was left with severe stomach pain and vomiting after the snake injected him with a small amount of venom.

That's why I'm so scared to go to Australia. Also may I remind you that last year, Shaun got bitten for 20 minutes by a snake and there have been many times when they've found snakes in camp.

Yes the area is contained and as studio-like as it can be but at the end of the day, they are in the rainforest and nature is very unpredictable.

People saying Shaun and Lempit got bite from snakes,,,,, Those snakes where purposely there for a task. Not just random bites.
