View Full Version : Alex People say £500 is too much as a present, but are ok with Alex sharing her winnings
vesavius

Again, always with the double standards.
Aaron won't spend £500 on a present for the girl, but he will happily take £9000 or whatever of the money she has already won.
She is giving away FAR more then when the presents cost.
You would think a normal adult would say...'hey, you don't have to share your winnings with me, I am grateful you are, have a nice present for your birthday to say thank you'.
But no...
After watching this back I think Alex is actually justified in saying '**** you jack' to him. She won't, but I would understand if she did and just looked after her friends.
He is such a douche.

Rubbish. The girl is giving away 20k of the money she has won.
Some people would be grateful for that gesture.
If a person had agreed to do that I definitely would buy them a decent B'day present as a thank you.
NO!!...I've always hated it when the prize money is interfered with!
The winner has earned every penny of it....Afterall, £100,000. spread over 24 hours per day for 10 weeks solid is not even a very generous prize imo!
They could get ten times that much for about a half hours stint on Chris Tarrant's show! :nono:

No, it is her money. It is being paid in her bank account. She won it.
Buying her a £500 present to say thankyou for sharing seems right.
Saying you don't want to spend money on her is churlish, ungrateful, and pathetic.

The 30k is not hers. She didn't win it. They agreed the money would be divided equally BEFORE they dipped in the hat. She isn't being generous at all no more than Jay is for handing over 5k of the 15k in his bank account.
Generosity doesn't come into it.

I've watched you post numerous times now and I think you need to start considering other people's opinions, it's like what you say has to be right. All 5 of the housemates agreed to share the money out whatever happened and at this point Alex (or indeed any other housemate who may of got the money) lost all rights to call it their money, or things would have been done a lot differently.

Yeah, but she hasn't even had the chance to keep up her end of the bargain yet. We don't know 100% if she will share it out. Plus, the present money was deducted from Jay & Louise's funds, NOT her's.

And $500 for a gift for someone you've know for 2 months is dumb as well.

Had they not agreed to share it out equally, and subsequently decide who gets what amount via a lucky dip, she may not have got the 30K. They may have used some other method to decide and she might have ended up with the tenner.
By all means have a go at Aaron if you don't like him, but make your gripes reasonable and logical instead of grasping at straws like this.

Aaron 'knows' this I guess because he is incapable of doing it himself.
I am noting that Aaronites are using the tactic of casting doubt on Alex keeping her promise rather then recognising the niceness of the act and the rudeness and ingratitude that their fave HM is showing.

There is NO niceness of the act. It's an "agreement" that was made before they dipped into the hat.
Whether she sticks to the agreement is yet to be seen. Whether she does or doesn't there's absolutely no need for gratitude as anyone of them could have decided to not go along with the agreement and therefore they all would have received nothing at all. The way you're thinking then maybe they should all be grateful to Tom or Aaron for agreeing to go along with their plan.

And it will also prove that Alex used Tom to get as far as she did in the house by allowing him to only gain £10 and feel nothing to break the trusted agreeement they all had. What a complete slap in the face to her BB BFF don't you think?
