Spending £500 on a birthday present. Makes it worse that they've known the people for just over 2 months as well.

Interesting that some people think having a strop is sillier than having a strop about someone else having a strop :suspect:

Well if you think the person who is having a strop is unjustified in doing so then it's understandable that you'd be annoyed about it :conf:

But then in having your own strop you are just as stroppy as the person who was stropping to start with :suspect:

So having a strop over someone else having a strop is better than having a strop in the first place :suspect:

But it's not just about the strop it's about the reason for the strop, and having a strop over someone having what you consider to be an unjustified strop is a better motive than someone having a strop over what you consider to be a nice gesture

You should have had a "Spending £500 on a present for somebody and then repeatedly telling that somebody and the viewing public that you'd just spent £500 on said present for them!"......

.......and perhaps a "Jay" and a "Louise" option would have been quite apt too, if a little difficult to choose between!:joker:

Spending 500 bucks of someone else's money, is not stupid at all. That is BB's money, not theirs.

Selfish Aaron' didn't even look at the prices in the book before he tried to storm out of the DR. The moment BB said it would come out of the prize fund he shouted NO, and tried to leave.

It has nothing to do with the amount of money, it has to do with Aaorn being a selfish self-obsessed manipulator of the highest order.

Exactlty, they mean nothing to Aaron, because no one means anything to Aaron, he only cares about himself.

...and those genuinely close to him. like his son. Given the choice between spending £500 on relative strangers or keeping it for my son, I'd go with my son evey time.

They ALL thought £500 was an excessive amount for a present to begin with but then Jay and Louise went back on their principles for one reason only...to garner more votes. They didn't do it in the true spirit of GIVING

BS. Jay and especially Louyise went back because Alex and Tom are incredibily nice human beings, and given the oppurtunity to do something nice for them was too tempting.

Not tempting at all for Aaron though, to do something nice for Alex and Tom. Aaron didn't even look at the prices before he said no and tried to leave the diary room.

I think anyone who pays 500 for a pair of shoes has more money than sense anyway. How many of us could afford to buy ourselves that never mind someone you have known for 9 weeks. IMO it was done to " look good " and i don't blame Aaron for being upset.

Well i disagree. Alex was so proud and honoured to have such a gift given to her,. And i think Alex is the kind of girl that deserves nice things, and i think if the roles were reversed, she would have used her 500 pounbds to buy something nice for jay, Aaron, or Louise.

She was truly excited to get the shoes, and giving joy to someone as nice as Alex is priceless. She is a lovely human being that is probably dismissed as an ugly air-head wanna-be in most situations in her life. But we've watched her for 3 months, and seen, she actually is an incredibly kind and loving human being just doing her best in this world with no malice towards anyone.

I personally enjoyed seeing Alex's excitement when she got those 500 pound shoes, and i think it was worth the 500 pounds to make Alex feel special like that.

She deserved to feel special on her birthday.

So i say well done Jay and Louise for wanting to make Alex and Tom feel special on their 21st birthday.

I would feel livid too, if someone questioned my motives like that;. I think you would too, if you think about it.

It obviously wasn't easy for them to make the decision, but i think tey did the right thing in the end, unlike Aaron.

And then, after making that sacrifice, and doing the right thing, they get slated for it??

That would piss me off. I would have far less control than Jay has. Aaron's face would look like roadkill if he did that to me. no doubt.

No I wouldn't have sneaked behind someone's back to do it in the first place which is the key to making themselves look bad.

Come on lets face it no matter what Aaron did he was always going to be in the wrong.

If he had spent £500 he would have been fake, two-faced and buying votes because why would he spend that much on fellow HMs.

and

Now that he decided not to spend £500 (like any sane person) he's wrong, selfish, spiteful, mean and a scrooge.

Would also like to remind some posters in here that they all - that includes Louise, Jay and Aaron - said they didn't want to spend and wouldn't spend that much money on presents as it was ridiculous so it was not just Aaron. Stop trying to twist it or I'll have a strop.

Remind me again how the FOOK it is any of Aaron's business how jay and Louise spend their 10 grand??? Why the hell is it Aaron's job to police hove they spend their own money???

The only reaosn he cares, is because he's afriad he might not get as many votes, he's only caring about what the public thinks, yet he says it's all about principle??

no, Aaron it's not about principle obviously, obviously your only caring about how the public is voting, and he got pissed off that maybe the public would give him less votes because he was too cheap to buy tom and alex a present.

That's the bottom line. LET'S BE REAL.

I seriously can't believe I'm getting into this ridiculous argument over the ****ing £500 presents again but here goes:

Aaron had his say and that was that the fact that Jay and Louis - after saying they would not spend that much money on presents at any time... twice - then proceeded to go back to the diary room behind Aaron's back and spend £1000 on presents. That was it. He said in his eyes it felt like they were doing it to look good and win votes. He didn't harp on about it and he didn't keep saying it to their faces at all.

It was the 2 suddenly generous individuals who not only mentioned a zillion times how much the presents actually cost when they handed them over but continued to bitch and moan about the fact that what they had done was a generous gesture and out of the goodness of their own hearts. If they had just said it wasn't true and shut the **** up about it instead of going on and on for over 48 hours it would have been forgotten and they could have moved on. The lady doth protest to much and they panicked because they'd been outed.

Oh and just so we've got this straight ..... who brought up the buying of the ****ing presents in the first place because the show I watched it definitely wasn't Louise or Jay! I'm also still waiting for someone to tell me how much they spent on Anton's present (you know Jay's best friend in the house) you know because they are just so generous... but nobody's been able to confirm that with me yet.... go figure!
