Kind of ironic. Both very unpredictable winners. Both the most entertaining of their series.

Like Aaron, Rachel was very popular online and on forums but hated by most of the public (though more people came around and liked her by the end of the series)

Rachel wasn't that hated this year, and she certainly wasn't very entertaining this year - she was a shadow of her BB12 self, even though I despised her in BB12.

I have to agree with you. I think it was a very poor season in the US. I have never found Rachel entertaining and I just stopped watching. I haven't watched an entire season of BBUK for a few series but Aaron has made me a believer again on how great Big Brother can be here in the UK.

I have loved watching BBUS over the years but it is really going downhill now.

Maggie was waaaaaaaaaaaay more controversial than Rachel. Rachel had fans based on her personality but nobody liked Maggie's personality - the only people who don't despise her respect her gameplay.

The next step for BBUK would be for a non-hot person to win based on their gameplay skills, not on the fact they are charming and not a chav.

No it was quite the opposite. All the Jeff and Jordan fans loved Rachel because she was on their "team"

Aaron is well liked by the more "hardcore" BB fans, I reckon. Ex. people online, etc. However, not very well liked by the general audience.

Rachel from BBUS was well liked by the general audience, who loved Jeff and Jordan but wasn't that well liked by the people on the internet.

I think Aaron would have done well in BBUS. Rachel would suck though, people would see through her fake personality (albeit entertaining) right away.

I have removed part of your post because its just ridiculous speculation. Every HM will have had a few diehards.

The majority of people who voted for Jay couldnt stand Aaron. The majority of people who voted for Aaron couldnt stand Jay. Lets say the votes between the top 2 were 60/40(I do not think it would have been that close though)...40% are really pissed off right now, while 60% are very happy. If Jay had won it would have been the same. Whichever had won...would have caused a similar reaction. Not many would have been pissed off with Alex winning, because, although funny at times, in the house she was pretty much non-existant.

The only reason he appears to be so hated was because he was such a marmite character...everyone either 'loved' him or 'hated' him... he would have left before the final under the old vote to evict, I have no doubt about that. Same with Jay.

If you deny people the chance to get rid of people they cant stand (which VTS has done) then the winners will always be more controversial. Which is a good thing IMO. I dont really like the safe option nicey nice winners. The winner should have contributed to the show, not sat in the background doing nowt.

I suspect in the next BB...if vote to save stays(which I bloody hope it does) we will have a similar winner. Someone controversial.
