View Full Version : Fatima - Over-reacting?

Do you think she over-reacted and was wrong to have a go at Mark?

I think she needs to calm down and stop taking herself so seriously, it was just a daft game.

She says she's a serious sports person blah blah blah... yet one of her guesses as to who the most inspirational proffesional football PLAYER is was Harry Redknapp, a manager.

But even after that she was taking a huff because apparently they weren't letting her help with the cooking, not liking her at all at the moment although she is making it interesting.

Hope she loses the trial tomorrow, she will probably go on a rampage if that happens!

She did over-react but I dont particularly look at it negatively... shes from a very competitive background as Lorraine pointed out.

She was pathetic, I couldn't believe she was actually being serious at first, thought she was just pretending to be pissed off :joker:

Very silly for a grown woman. I suspect she's used to getting her own way, being so competative. I was happy to see Lorraine stand up to her also. It wasn't just left to Mark who she was trying to belittle because of his age

I think she over reacted, but I also think that's her character. I don't think she realizes how she comes across at times.

That said, it made for great viewing tonight, so more please...http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/TV_and_Movies/combat-jedi1.gif

She is one of those annoying people in an argument who has to have the last word...

Wright is an ignorant but cocksure gobby toe-rag - naturally Fatima has taken a dislike to him - she has sussed that all his talk is subterfuge and manipulation ..... :idc:

I do like Fatima but she did herself no favours tonight - blew something silly totally out of proportion but then I guess they are all stressed in there at the moment.

I'm not sure she is stressing tbh. I think that we are seeing Fatima as she is.

I did get what she was saying about the Jungle Fortunes - Mark most likely was deliberately not going to give in and would have changed 'his supposed football star' anyway: he's as equally aggressive and provoking but in a more passive manner (but the way he speaks to her, regardless, he does speak to her like crap, so Fatima is correct on what she said) - but Fatima really should have bit the bullet - and treated him with the contempt he deserved. ie: ignore it, or discuss like two adults in private.... more on this.

Mark showed this last night: as in the telegraph he made out that he wasn't going to go into details: yet he forgot that the camp has mics, as he whispered and told the others what Fatima had 'allegedy' said to him - to gain their support behind her back, by besmirching her.

Even her physical presence is powerful: her facial expressions, her body language: it's all very hostile.

As for her wanting a word and taking off the mics: sorry: bang out of order. If she can't say what she had to say in public and be held accountable for it: then she's been very underhand, and for the woman who went on about 'good sportsmanship'....she showed very little of it last night.

Both of them are as bad as each other really, but Fatima isn't helping herself really.

Even Lorraine, a 'slip' of a woman in comparison - had had enough.

Anthony is gonna have a breakdown if Fatima continues!
(mmmmm....maybe he will walk, wonder if I should reconsider my thoughts on Fatima, it may have it's uses).

Maybe you're right about the stressing bit and she was out of order over the microphones but I just can't help liking her for stirring it up in there - as you say if she gets Anthony to break and gives Mark a run for his money I will probably love her even more!!

Mark isn't the brightest, and is on a deliberate wind-up. I was a professional athlete (many years ago now :( ) and Fatima's behaviour is, I think, entirely to do with her competitive spirit, whether justified (or not) in the jungle.

I think she needs to calm down a bit and just enjoy it as an experience. Both she AND Mark have a lot to learn about socialisation out of their (peer) groups.

what an horrible bitch fatima is, still she should be kept in as long as possible, she's the best to watch so far.

I think this is a particularly wise and very well spotted observation indeed.

I really admired Fatima's empathy with the others and the way she encouraged them all during the first day - I was disappointed in the way she just would not let the argument drop last night though - I think she seemed to want to be right more than she wanted to consider the bad effect it was having on the rest of their group.

As for Mark - I think he is trying very hard indeed to try to reinvent himself as a nice person (this is a good thing to do for anyone) and perhaps sometimes he is coming under fire for it ...I sense he may be feeling out of his depth with the others (in Essex he is the big fish - here he probably isn't compared to the likes of Stephanie etc.)

It's proving an extremely interesting social experiment. I really don't think Fatima is aware of the effect she has on others as she seems genuinely surprised by how they react to her. Perhaps this will be what she learns from her journey - who can tell...

It genuinely IS an interesting social experiment, and despite all of the gross-out ratings for bug-eating etc, I find it interesting from the point of view of how people can cope with / assimilate the extreme mental stress from being out of their comfort zone.

mr.rochester, as always, you bring with you the spirit of discussion and benign objectivity.

She really did over react and then had the nerve to have ago at Mark and Lorraine, she kept telling Mark she was old enough to be his mother, then she's old enough to know better,I thought Mark was very nice to her, many would have had a few more choice words to say to her,she needs to chill out, right now she is nowhere near a favorite of mine.
