Background: Faye has generally been a bit of a brat toward Owen, playing tricks on him and the like, last week she put paint into his pond, killing all his fish, when he found out he diciplined Faye how he used to dicipline his daughters, should he have done it?

She is one of the most irritating and annoying children ever who has a very devious and nasty streak but no, he should not have hit her, he is nothing whatsoever to her and was completely out of order.

If she was his child I would have agreed with it, but
A. She's not his child
B. She's an adopted child

I was spanked myself as a child when I did things wrong, didnt do me too much harm although I couldnt do it to my own children because thats just me. Rather take away luxuries.
Hmm tough one, she is a complete brat and has been to Owen for ages despite his best efforts, plus he really loved those fish  but it wasn't really his place to do it when it wasn't his kid, if it was I think it'd be more understandable

Yes, she is a horrible little bitch, I would have gone a step further & drowned her in the creosote filled pond... :nono:

I agree, she could tell he loved the fish and the amount of time and effort he put into building the pond, and TRYING to communicate with Faye, it's easy to see why Owen did what he did, he's no psycho, thats just the form of parenting he's used to

The best way and only real alternative to hitting her would be to pack her bags and send her down to Eastenders.
Dot can have her, she's more than capable of bringing up brats like Faye.

Better still, get the RSPCA involved, they should have a few cages going spare.

btw, in upcoming episodes
It's revealed that the reason Faye was in care is because her original parents were abusive

Her mum was a crack addict too wasnt she? I think I remember them saying that in the show, it was probably one of her drug dealer boyfriends that used to beat her

Ah yes... I remember that too. That would have an interesting twist on the story.

It'd explain why Faye still loved her mum even after what happened too

Yes definitely.
If they do this well, they will end up having me feel sorry for her and I don't want to do that...
