toys are being projected from prams now, heres a newsflash kids dont like rules and being told what to do...wether its about when to have sex,or what ime to go to bed, or what constitutes as a marriage they will kick off about absoloutly anything. And parents are not born parents! its a learning curve some times you get it right and sometimes you get it spectacularly wrong ...suck it up kid haha

Praise be. If I wasn't hetro, I could just fall in love with you.

And that in turn shows that you like humiliating people, and watching people being humiliated, especially children. Therefore from that, we can conclude that you are sadistic and most probably were or still are a bully, and probably condone such actions.

But you're missing the point - public humiliation, no matter what the circumstances, whether to two people or to two million, is unacceptable. The repercussions of such actions can turn out to be quite severe. As I have already pointed out, it can affect someone's self-esteem. If you advocate that and think that is an acceptable form of punishment, then as Jords says, it says more about you than it does anyone else.

Tbh that's a dreadful thing to say Jack, and I don't believe there is any truth in it at all. Pyramid, along with quite a lot of members on this thread and it would appear many on the internet too, genuinly believe the father's actions were correct and he acted at the end of his tether. Many have found it amusing from what I can see. I absolutely don't believe that Pyramid or any other member on this thread would enjoy a child being humiliated or is a bully. I don't think the father is a bully, I think he did what he thought was right, I don't agree it was...but I think he thought it was

Brilliant. I would've done the same.

You cannot post on any thread without offering up personal insults - that is a form of bullying. It is a form of attempting to mock, berate and humiliate - whether you acknoweldge your own behaviour as being that or not - the reality is: that is what it is.

The daughter felt it was appropriate, the father gave her a taste of her own medicine. I do not see the problem.

Calling me of all people a bully is absurd, when I strongly oppose bullying in any walk of life. That's never my intentions anyway, so if you feel it is, then I guess I apologise.

The problem is other parents will now see this as an acceptable form of punishment. And their children might not be capable of taking this as well as this man's daughter has. Whilst one might be able to deal with such stress (supposedly), others certainly won't, and will have their self-esteem knocked as a result. Not at all good, and I don't see how anyone could advocate that, it's disgusting.

I just found the comment she made about how she'd find videos like this amusing, somewhat...disturbing. To laugh at someone being humiliated isn't exactly nice, maybe I went too far but I felt her comment went too far as it was anyway.

thanks for that Ammi, appreciated.

My own feelings are that I believe Jack is nothing more that a young keyboard warrior, very similar to the young teenage girl that behaved in the same fashion on her FB pages : it's understandable that Jack would support the girl.

Which comment would that be then Jack.... the one that was followed with the words "on a more serious note".

You really should try to read posts and understand the context of them, rather than completely misquoting what others have actually said.

Fair enough, whilst I did read your post, looking back that part didn't register. My apologies.

Tbh I am quite surprised that some people, who I think are around her age are siding with the father, being that we only have his 'word' at how unacceptable her past behaviour is...and in fact, by his own words, she doesn't even recall past incidents. She did write the post, I know that, and I think he had a right to be hurt, although I don't think he had a right to access it in the first place. He said there may be consequences of what she wrote for his future employment...so he jeopordised hers also...she's only 15....maybe a stroppy, rude, lazy, ungrateful 15 year old...but still...only 15. He hasn't given her the chance to look back and regret, like we do..he's made her 'live it'...everyday....I just can't agree with the way he's done this

I think it's fair to say that lessons learned all round from it - from all sides.

But as adamant as you are on the matter, I'm on the flip side and I'm with the father all the way. OMG... Is this the first time we've been totally at opposite ends of the spectrum. I think it may be!

Goddam daugher and father...... they've got a lot to answer for. ;) :D

Ha could be...the first of many....
...teenage sons aren't always that easy either...but if I had ever seen one of them humiliated...I think I would have died a bit inside....let alone be the cause of it
...but yes...agree to disagree

Been mostly a good lively debate though from all sides though....... it breathed a wee bit of life into the forum on a quiet Saturday!

I'd have been on the Dad's side all the way if he didn't do it all in such a hypocritical fashion.

I'm having visions of her creating a video like this now in which she burns all his clothes and possessions in a humongous fire and says '**** you dad!' at the camera :joker:

At the end of the day of course the guy is wrong. Only someone who is seriously disturbed would fire shots through a laptop to prove a point. If anyone considers that normal well...I feel for them.

At her age probably prosecute her as an adult, so a few weeks in jail sound good. She won't have to wash dishes in there, she'll like that

For some reason I think she'll be discussing this video with a psychiatrist some day.

It's a fun idea to go all cowboy on a piece of computer equipment that isn't ours, but at the end of the day, people here are sane. We use words, not firearms, to make our points. :joker:

Follow-up:

Tommy Jordan, the former Marine who made waves last week with a video of himself putting his own laptop out of its misery, was visited by Child Protective Services officials as well as local police officers in the wake of his Internet stardom.

The Child Services agents reportedly interviewed the Stanly County, NC man and his daughter separately, but took no action. The police, however, did have something to say to Jordan: “Kudos.”

“I actually had a “thank you” from an entire detectives squad,” Jordan wrote in a Facebook post published over the weekend. “And another police officer is using it in a positive manner in his presentation for the school system. How’s about those apples? Didn’t expect THAT when you called the cops did you?”

Many people apparently called to ask Albermarle police what was being done about the angry dad, but were told there was nothing that could be done as Jordan lives outside city limits, and therefore outside police jurisdiction.

Speaking with Channel 9, a Stanly County Sheriff’s Office spox said Jordan broke no laws, and an investigation would not be launched.

If she steps out of line again, maybe he can get someone to waz her CDs up in the air and he can pick them off 'clay pigeon' style with his Colt. Harsh but fair. "PULL!"

Just kidding. Kind of...
