I don't think it's a "credible artist" we need to focus on, it's one that can carry off a catchy, contemporary song regardless of how famous they are. It doesn't necessarily need to be someone who's already *well-known*, as proven in the past that doesn't always really work.

And also whilst there might be political voting aspects like the blatant support behind Albania and Serbia's appalling songs, people still do mostly vote for the songs they like, hence why Sweden won this year and Germany the other year.

Well, Eurovision has turned into a big camp party. Wogan was always as sarcastic as Graham.

I really cannot see what singer/group could do well for the UK or Ireland for that matter now.

We tried Blue last year, a reformed but highly previously popular group in Europe,that didn't work, we have tried Andrew Lloyd Webber doing a whole Euro thing, although we did much better,still no win came, we have tried choosing a new act and now a supposed highly respected multi million selling singer from the past in Engelbert who has done massively worse than last year.

Ireland too did badly this year as well, the voting was even more biased than usual but it was a very bad night for Jedward too for Ireland.
So much has been made of Hump being on first but Albania with that awful noise they entered this year was only 2 slots after him and did rather well.

I really feel it's a good thing for the UK that it is an automatic Country in Eurovision because if it had to qualify like Ireland has to and others, the UK would likely not get into the finals at all so bad is our standing with the Countries of Europe.

Then again, the UK got nothing from Israel either so even our so called friends don't give us votes either.

Having said that,I loved the show, Sweden was a good winner in the end but I now really think it wouldn't matter who the UK put in, no way will we get the votes to do really well now for the foreseeable future in my opinion.
