View Full Version : Man given two-year prison sentence for spiking yoghurt with semen

A man has been sentenced to two years in prison for allegedly handing out a semen-laced yoghurt sample.

Anthony Garcia received his sentence on Thursday (March 1), having pleaded guilty last October to contaminating the treat at the Albuquerque Sunflower Market in January 2011.

The 32-year-old, who was branded "sickening and appalling" by prosecutors, admitted to placing some of his semen on a plastic spoon, dipping it in the yoghurt pot and handing it to a female customer.

According to The AP, the woman told police that she tasted the irregularity immediately.

She claimed that she spat on the floor several times and had to wipe her mouth on her clothes in order to get rid of the taste.

Garcia had been facing up to three years in prison.

No, I'm kidding...but seriously, yeah it's sick and I'd want them punished (probably to taste it himself), but two years is one ridiculous overreaction. As I said, there's far worse crimes out there that are worthy of a two year sentence, not tasting some jizz when you didn't want to.

I hope the Mail write an article about this. The comments would be worth a laugh.

You make that sound like a kid not wanting to finish their dinner :joker: Most people think it's really revolting. Yeah, there are other crimes that should have higher sentences, but that's not a reason to lower others.

It is revolting, and to the person that suggested the kind of mental state the person might have been in, then yeah, that's actually a fair point. And so surely it would be better, and more important for said person's mental state to be investigated rather than needlessly handing out excessive sentences in some controlling kind of state where everyone walks on egg shells? That's not to say there's nothing wrong with what he did, of course there is, but seriously, what's next? Ten year sentences for pissing in a bottle and then leaving it in some deserted area where a child then drinks it? Life sentences for leaving some cum on some knickers which someone then wears and gets pregnant?

You what small credibility you had and showed your immaturity with that attempt as humour.

Oh please, lighten up. If you weren't able to make jokes at even perhaps some of the more serious moments in life then the world would be a very miserable place. I wasn't being serious (if you or anyone else thinks I was well then...), it was a joke and it doesn't at all take anything away from the rest of my argument. If you didn't find it funny, fine, but someone else clearly did.

Or, alternatively, maybe you could just accept that some people's sense of humour differ to yours slightly? And that humour is subjective, and so whilst you might not find something funny, others do, and that it is not your place to judge them based upon that.

And I haven't once suggested that making a joke about 'swallowing' cum is anything remotely dark, in fact it's anything but...I'm quite aware of that. It wasn't a disgusting comment, it was a joke. I have to be honest, I'm in two minds about this. What he did was disgusting and..yes potentially dangerous. I presume the lady didn't contract anything. I'm thinking about victims of violence, who are scarred for life and I know, because a member of my family is one of those, that not even a prison sentence is given in many cases, let alone a two year one.
I don't condone what he has done at all and a punishment indeed, is appropriate..I'm not convinced it warrents two years.
I have watched on TV and heard of numerous cases where, in restaurants..the staff have spat into food and served it to diners. They could contract HIV too...but prison sentences, to my knowledge, are not given.
Morally, it may be different..but the law isn't about morals.

I think Ammi ,THAT is the issue here, the paltry sentences most people get for violent crimes ,I think IF those were in order this would not seem to be too much time to serve, but we are comparing it to other serious crimes that have gone virtually unpunished,so it may seem excessive,i think the justice system needs to sort itself out!

That part of it is irrelevant..she didn't get HIV or any other disease that I know of.

Two years does not seem in proportion to the sentencing of someone who has committed a violent criminal act.

HIV can be contracted via semen, but not via spit, the viral load is not high enough to be a significant risk.

What this man did is disgusting, but two years in prison seems a little excessive, unless he had HIV in which case it would not be enough imo.
